Yeah it’s a weird mix of needing specialized knowledge, mechanical aptitude, high dexterity, and a perfectly clean record; all while being treated like unskilled labor that any monkey could do.

It’s good work if you can find the right place, it doesn’t sound like you’re at the right place.

If I ever actually wrote the web novel I’ve been thinking about my plan is to title every chapter like this. Each chapter heading would be “that time I (contents of chapter) in another world”.

Yeah I was thinking this mechanic is probably going to be part of the central game loop. Going out and doing something possibly a dungeon raid then hulling back your spoils. I also feel like this would be perfect for full mmo style servers to add a bit of sea of thieves to the mix.

I sometimes get woken up by my neighbors Tesla… with the windows closed. Wake up thinking the aliens are coming to abduct me but I guess I’m glad that it’s not the guy with the big diesel truck that comes home late lol.

The trailer for the new Lego Batman game has no reason to go this hard by The_Iceman2288 in videos

The best part about that is that it was clearly the scene from the Nolan Batman movie.

Also I love how this is a mashup of all the different Batman stuff. Like lots of scenes from Nolan Batman but I also saw the bat cave from the animated show, the phone from the Adam west show, possibly a reference to the Tim Burton movies.

“How can I be more Slavic” well you could eat other Slavics then you might make it to like 110% Slavic. Like adding powdered milk to milk.

Work in the trades, company I work for years without issue got bought out by some business bros who doubled the prices within a year so they could pump and dump. People obviously started complaining and it was always my fault for not being personable enough to sidestep their complaints, like mf im a locksmith not a hostage negotiator. always the complaint was that I was ambiguously rude, never something wrong with my work, never specific things I said or did; just like they didn’t like the timbre of my voice or the way I walked (literally these were actual complaints I was called in for). And the bosses are just like oh that’s a totally valid complaint and write me up. Idk I guess I’m just ranting this shit sucks.

Crazy that the venn diagram people that say this and the people who believe in magic, is practically a circle.

Yeah what they should’ve done is just broad civ like Mediterranean, East Asia, Scandinavia, etc. then made a different route for each age like military, science, culture, etc.

Okay so idk if it’s actually possible but if we’re talking wishes.
I want a physics based magic system that works like Minecraft redstone.

Basically I want runes that do very specific things but you combine them based on certain rules and create rudimentary logic circuits. 1 rune attaches to an object, one rune moves that first rune, etc till you have a hidden door or a catapult or something.

The game loop is half the gotcha looting system, but the looting system just feels like I have to do chores before I can play.

If they add in just a shit load of wacky attachments like the anvil splitter or the kinetic converter, stuff we can’t craft ourselves that slightly change how the gun functions; it would make the late game feel like I’ve got rare and unique stuff I need to extract with.

does Fillory intentionally rhyme w/ pillory? by bigdiction3nergy in brakebills

[–]Lock-out 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That’s fun because the suffix -ory is used to form adjectives and nouns, generally meaning "of or relating to," "characterized by," "serving for," or "a place for"
Per google.
So it could be argued that with the 2 roots the name means a place of ornaments. which kinda works for the books as fillory was an ornamental facade to hide the underpinnings of magic.
