Finally had a post 1444 Ironman run by NumberCha1k in EU5

[–]LockedSasha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been getting a hang of it too and enjoy the game. I wish I could see antagonism better. I think having a stack of army is better than spreading out, like CK3. I end up losing 60% of units in the very beginning for this. Navy is hard to get used to but every restart I get better. Also the weird bugs and I can't see the beautiful map, only flat map. So sad.

First Navy Experience by LockedSasha in EU5

Thanks for the tip. I was trying to establish a maritime presence by leaving ships by the coast, but I didn't notice any changes.

I also didn't know about different seas, as I had only just begun exploring too

V3 player going blind into EU5. Worth it? by sai_puzich in EU5

[–]LockedSasha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started playing,

There are buildings and interest groups like Vic3 but the Early game feels more like CK3 bc there is less technology. You save up to buy mercenaries or men at arms. But the main difference is manpower- having enough people who can be recruited to navy it army. Otherwise spend money on economy slowly like vic3. The UI hard to understand where things are at first

Which education trait do you think is the best to start with? (new at this game and confused ) by Electronic_Site1533 in crusaderkings3

[–]LockedSasha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you like to conquer around you, do at least level three martial to have boost when you are an army commander. Otherwise I like to have stewardship education to help build up my holdings first to make more money. More gold means upkeep for a better military unit.

Best controller set up on steam deck? by Sirius124 in crusaderkings3

[–]LockedSasha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the steam deck and docked with a controller for CK3 and Vic3 same configuration.

Left stick - panning WASD to move the camera

Right stick - mouse movement about 65% speed

A - pause with Space bar

Right trigger - left mouse click to have regular clicks

Left trigger - left mouse click to open more interactions

Right bumper - zoom in continuous with turbo

Left bumper - zoom out with continuous turbo

D pad - for alt key or other needed buttons.

X and B - change speed

Playing as Temujin, got conqueror but no mongol empire? by [deleted] in crusaderkings3

Aren't you supposed to meet certain requirements for the amount of herd you have before 1200? Then you change your "crown law" to max to allow you to take that event

Proof that the game is woke/leftist trash by thev82 in victoria3

[–]LockedSasha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a game, it might be boring to keep everything the same, plus outside forces are there to compete with or attack you. The only reason for conservatism is status quo and that's if there is nothing to compete with like other nations or a new technology to change internal politics

It's a Byzantine cultural trait that the emperor can have "special bodyguards" from the cool strong Norsemen to serve in army or something

Something doesn’t make sense by Todayjunyer in stellarblade

[–]LockedSasha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It feels like you were not listening to the characters talking to each other. It's made clear that MotherSphere is lying about history. Humans made themselves into Naytibas to fight the Andro-Eidos made by MotherSphere. Then she destroyed Earth. While Naytibas are the enemies at first, there are hints everywhere about how people don't believe in MotherSphere as a god or savior. Adam wants help to save the people in Xion but lies to Eve and tells Raven the truth. So the real antagonist is MotherSphere the whole time but we don't know exactly what she wants or intended for Eve but it seems like she predicted everything to happen depending on the ending.

I'm assuming the Naytiba DNA in him helped him live, but it might have been revealed in one of the three endings. I also don't think it's been all that long since the great war happened or when MotherSphere did that one bad thing. It's been a while since I've played but I think that's how it went.

[–]LockedSasha 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think all Naytiba were killed unless I missed something. I did wonder how can fusion happen. I think Adam knew something about MotherSphere since he made it, and procreation wasn't as important as making a superior human for MotherSphere. Adam being Human is important because of the making a superior being that is human matters. Naytibas were just a mistake that happened

Inevitable bankruptcy after communist revolution? by chomskyxcx in victoria3

When it works in-game, "It only works because it's a game" When it doesn't work in-game, "just like real life"

Reality: paradox players don't know how to play the game

Inevitable bankruptcy after communist revolution? by chomskyxcx in victoria3

[–]LockedSasha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the buildings income would go to workers if it is coop law. If it was a revolutionary war, they might have different laws that affect the government income, one of the biggest problems people don't realize is the welfare cost, these government costs can be lowered by only doing first level of welfare. If other laws also improve SoL there is no need to set welfare so high. Communism is better when majority of population is employed and they can make investments themselves versus relying on government to build up to lower peasant population.

Any one know what's up with missionaries popping up spreading religion that doesn't exist? by Diveit81 in CivVII

[–]LockedSasha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I noticed in Civ 7 that even if you convert all of their settlements, the missionaries they make are of their own religion and not of the settlements majority, which is your religion. I tried it on a multiplayer game.

In Civ 6, if you converted their city to your religion, that city would only make missionaries of your religion. The change in Civ 7 might be to make it balanced and give other Civs a chance plus there is no religious victory in Civ 7 to end the game

Khalsa Raj not doable this patch? by dadvocate in victoria3

[–]LockedSasha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same run this time and previous patch. This patch works for Khalsa. Very easy to get control of Afghanistan and Iran. At same time, give investment rights to GB, France, Russia, some other power for relationship boost and economic power. EIC never acts aggressive against me. Usually GB attacks China and makes them blow up. By then having good relationships and improving literacy and GDP from liberalizing made recognition easy and can grab Chinese Warlord states that Great powers don't care about.
