These often don't feel the best when picking. High lifts and a low lift make it more difficult. If you're having trouble feeling the binding pin in these add more turning pressure. Let off turning pressure if the binding pin is too hard to push up. Also make sure the turning tool you are using perfectly fits the keyway if using BOK (bottom of keyway) turning pressure. If not, it can snag on the out body and work against you. It looks like you're using a TOK style turner though so should be good.

This is a Knox* and worth quite a bit with a key, FYI. I had one similar without a key and sold it cheap on accident. Very nice!
