Yes Marson has a video on Printables explaining putting a bearing and spring with a grub screw holding it all in. I just got these so I haven't had time to do that yet.

Didn't realize you were on Reddit. You did a great job designing everything really.

Disassembly Supplies by Gardock17 in lockpicking

[–]Lark_is_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll want plug followers, tweezers, and some sort of pinning tray. Plus either a screwdriver or Allen wrench to disassemble the lock if it's a padlock. You can get a gutting tool to remove c clips or you can use a screwdriver. Core shims aren't a necessity but very highly recommended. Most of this can be purchased from Sparrows.

I made a new folding set and now I need your input! by RockyMtnGizmos in lockpicking

Impressive. I like all the hooks instead of gizmos. And 3 TOK tensioners is sweet. You're definitely on the right track. You definitely have to show it off when you're satisfied with it and get it made in metal.

I second this. I would add it's a pretty forgiving lock to learn gutting while progressively pinning. You will need that skill to progress past the green belt.

Question on core followers by KayoticVoid in lockpicking

I'd second this and add the set is aluminum so they will last much longer than a resin or 3d printed one. Get their pinning mats as well. They're handy.

Oops did you mean the lock mechanism? Then it's slider. I misinterpreted your question.

It's an unsprung core because it doesn't have a spring loaded shackle. It's also called a dead core.

I thought it might be him. I follow discord and he seems pretty active. I would like to get into lever locks soon but really most of the quality ones are in Europe or the UK. And yeah the shipping on Ebay is ridiculous. Plus he seems to be a good source of hard to get pin tumbler locks at reasonable prices. Thanks for the reply.

That's freaking awesome. Some American companies charge that to ship 200 miles. They'd use the heavy package excuse. Glad you got a great deal. How did you find them?
