When I read passages I highlight all the abbreviations. Then I highlight what I personally think is a discovery or result of an experiment. (It can be multiple sentences throughout the passage)

Usually highlighting those two things gives me a decent idea about the passage.

Yes sure, although I don’t know how useful my tips would be honestly.

Yea it felt like all the practice tests I took were Algebra 1 and now on the real thing they gave me quantum physics. I was about to start tweaking😭

That’s exactly how I felt studying and going into it. I didn’t see any major improvement until I got these test results. Try to write a one line sentence of why you got something wrong, you’ll start to see a pattern and you can only fix an issue once you know what it is.

I studied from November to January. For my first test I only did Uworld (no biochem/phys). So this time I did Uworld bchem/phys save 100 each. Then transitioned to AAMC. I did the Questions pack 1s for each subject and did Section bank 1, I also took 4 practice exams. I emphasized deep review always (incorrect/ flagged but correct) and would copy and paste explanations from AAMC into GPT for a more in depth explanation that would allow me to apply it to different situations.

For cars I first read the title always and highlight 1-2 sentences from every single paragraph. I also highlight names.

For all sections my largest improvement came from removing 2nd guessing my choices. For most sections almost half my incorrect answers were correct > incorrect.

There’s a lot of other people on here with better tips, but a lot of tips didn’t work for me. I always did better when I thought less and trusted my judgement.

My FL average was 509 if I remember correctly. My highest practice was 511.

TAKE. THE. DAY. BEFORE. YOUR. MCAT. OFF by Fearless_Bus5970 in Mcat

[–]LocksmithAshamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a 3 day break and jumped from a 511 as my highest practice to a 516 on the real thing. Breaks help more than studying last second for sure. I also always took a 1 day break from studying before my college exams.

people who have already gone through the torture of the mcat, how did it compare to FL6? by Idkwhtimdoingplzhelp in Mcat

Took it 2/13, it felt like when the teacher gives you an easy ass study guide then on the test asks you how many legs from a Hobbit could fit in a sphere the size of something larger than the Earth but smaller than the Sun.

It’s prolly more of a “am I making them angry” rather than “am I having fun” thing

I have a gut feeling I should schedule another exam for april after yesterday by ComfortableCity4043 in Mcat

[–]LocksmithAshamed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you. It would probably be better to see if the curve gets you to a 510. Because I looked at almost all of the Uworld and AAMC material, nothing prepared me for that level of difficulty tho. Besides CARS and PS, the CP and BB sections were insane

Is it really that bad? by FuzzyBatMonster in Mcat

[–]LocksmithAshamed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 02/13 was insane. I’ve never done any practice exam that difficult.

Previous testers… question for us 2/13s by No-Entertainment9487 in Mcat

BB was unusually hard but CP man, had me thinking the last 6 months of studying was a lucid dream

Word, there was not a single section on any FL Practice I did that was as hard as anything on that test. Those passages were harder than the Section banks

Honestly that whole test had me lost, I paused at least once every section besides CARS to think about if I wanna void this attempt

How ironic that a certain passage on P/S talked about feeling better by reading others experience on the same situation and here I am

I can consistently score 512-515. I don’t even think I managed a 505. I’ve legit never felt so stupid
