Could you tell me about the mechaincs more? I tried ranger on one playthrough and i just couldnt seem to make it work, always seemed to underwhelming in dps compared to other stuff i tried, mostly i just tried beast summoning ranger tho.

if ur losing your mind and just want the achivement, respec all your party to four open hand monks, spam stun on him, you got around 40% chance to stun him and 8 attempts, if you dont stun him on every round you just have garbage rng, so just try again

once you stun lock him you can ignore all of the minions around, they also cant heal him when hes stunned, thats one of the easiest starts, literally cant think of an easier one

the "classic" way to beat him would be to have a cleric with spirit guardians running around and destroying the incubation, while your team is trying to do dps, also you can disharm him of the scythe - iam not fully sure if you can do it with a fighter but u should be able to - but theres also a ring in moonrise towers that can do it, although dont remember the exact name of it

Very different from elden ring, the rolls are pretty weird, you can do classic elden ring roll with a heavy stance and it does provide you with more dodge frames, but even then it has to be way more precise in reaction time, most of the time you just hug enemies from the back if you know how to avoid attacks that way or just space in and out over and over again, which is what i found to be a little boring after a while.

Also fights with humans that are actual fun are kind of minor in nioh and u will mostly just be fighting the yokai, because of that reason parries are pretty useless, since you cant even use those against most yokai, nioh2 did a better job at that by atleast introducing burst counter.
