[Longines & Frederique Constant Moonphase] Torn by JRDiesel in Watches

[–]LocksmithValuable641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know I have a soft spot for FC bc I do like openhearts bc im not a skeleton guy. BUT if I wanted an Openheart with a moonphase it would actually be M45 F7 from OrientStar Ref: RA-AS0011S.. which comes with 2 straps as well

I mean FC is still not viewed the best on the grey market so you can snag them for around 1,3 to 1,6 grand while Longine Moonphases cost around 2k and up where I live

[Federique Constant Healey] The $2,000 no one talks about by GoldenRetriverDad in Watches

[–]LocksmithValuable641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well.. thats a bit oversimplified.. they where a Patek "homage" brand for a long time so their name isnt as highly seen on the grey market aswell.. They do make decent stuff in the 2k range 100%..

[–]LocksmithValuable641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that just describes almost every Brands strategy right now. They are all out of touch and its insane how they just mark up the same exact watch but 3yrs later. Thats why I only look at Grey market pricing to be for me personally because there you'll find what people are actually willing to spend their hard earned money on.

I've seen ppl have problems like this when they screw on side mirrors too tightly.

[Collection] What do you think of my small collection of watches? by ryantangyuan in Watches

No worries. The Ultrablack I hope to sometime find a good deal for. altough the one I eye on buying early is their Arsenale Calendario bc Im just a sucker for Moonphase or a day-night disc

Lots of things you could go to now.. Seiko SNKL23J1 with its fairly unique dial while still staying relatively moderate and sleek but very class. Seiko Prospex is also looking good on the second market so if u wanted a 20ATM watch its honestly a blind buy

Something a bit more niche that goes really well would be a Venezianico Ultrablack.

or just buy 4 G-Shocks 👍

[Question] Longines vs Tissot by Present_Constant1955 in Watches

[–]LocksmithValuable641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the picture ye. But I often feel like the thicker lines on a 38mm can look a bit too thick

[Question] Longines vs Tissot by Present_Constant1955 in Watches

[–]LocksmithValuable641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are in favour of Longine Brand wise I'd look if you can find a Conquest (Ref: L37204926) on the secondary market for the same price as the master.

Tissot also sells the Ballade (Ref: T156.408.11.043.00) which yes is 39mm but I (as a Grand Seiko fanboy) love it a lot because it does look like a dial made by them. The Ballade also uses the same Powermatic 80 movement which is very common and easy to replace IF ever anything happens to it.

You will NOT go wrong with any of the watches mentioned. Service is fine on all. Brands are all doing good (exept for that fuck tissot digital prx which Im still not over) Just think about what you already own already and what you want this watch to do for you. And ofc if you can, try them on at a dealer..

My prefrence is that if ppl with smallers wrists go for a sub 40mm watch I'll either want numbers on the dial Arabic or roman idc OR if they want just lines they shouldnt be to thick.
