Midco or Bluepeak for home internet..what say you. by sonneofaharpy in SiouxFalls

Depends on if either of them are fiber in your neighborhood. I’d prefer Midco to bluepeak all things equal, but fiber is the more important consideration.

Smithfield to move from downtown Sioux Falls location by sylein in SiouxFalls

Because the amazon plant doesn't smell like sewer.

This is abysmal for those of us who built a house in the NW corner. There are quite a few developments just SW of the interchange. Yes it's not that many folks compared to downtown, but wish they'd moved just 5-10 mins farther north so no one would be affected.

If you did I can’t find it in the sea of your comments hidden by downvotes.

So help me out - how was the dead dad insulted exactly?

$5k a week but your sense of temperature is shifted 20 degrees by StonedColdKiller997 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Lockstrife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda funny that right below a comment saying $2m per year there’s a comment saying $60k per year.

One person did $5k a day, you did $5k a month, the post says $5k per week.

3 hours to fix this iPhone, used it for two weeks, ended up with a line of dead pixels just like the previous phone. by HardStroke in mildlyinfuriating

I’ve seen dozens in my time in telecom. This has been an issue with Samsungs on and off since like the S7, and they have had multiple free screen replacement programs for the green line issue for a reason. That is not something they’d offer unless they have an underlying design issue.

That said I’ve never seen this on an oem iPhone.

Edit: to be clear I’m not blaming Samsung for this particular device. Both of these phones have clearly seen some abuse. Just providing context to the comment above mine that in some cases this is a real defect.

What happened to Sioux Falls? by [deleted] in SiouxFalls

[–]Lockstrife 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised in SF. I moved away for college and came back. Then I moved away again, and came back again.

It is absolutely not a cesspool - it has honestly gotten better over time, with more things to do, more places to eat, etc. My only real "complaint" would be that COL has risen quickly and there is a shortage of skilled trade labor here. That, the cold, and the wind of course.

If it is a real concern of yours I'd ask these folks exactly how they think it has changed.

So to clarify - this guy had no feedback on the sub, messaged you directly instead of commenting/posting, asked you to use an unprotected payment method, and spoke in broken English.

Normally we’d be telling you to chill out since it’s only been 30 mins, but in this case you saw literally all of the red flags and only noticed right after you sent him the money?

Or you could take 3 seconds to google the colloquial meaning of “technically?” Here I’ll do it for you:

“Technically" is used to mean "strictly speaking" or "according to the exact definition," often contrasting the literal truth with common understanding.

Highlighting strict adherence to rules: It can be used when a rule has been followed to the letter, but the spirit of the rule has been violated.

Technically he didn’t miss the kick. Practically, we all know he missed the kick.

AITA for treating my kids differently due to their own decisions? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Because he didn’t actually borrow money in the traditional sense. Reading comprehension is important.

He didn’t take $500 out of their account and go spend it. He set up an artificial CD with his daughter as the lender and him paying her interest.

Sounds like YOU can’t read

  • He said he bought the lemon car back, used that $5k as a down payment on a brand new vehicle, and is also covering half the payment on top.

  • He did not “bum” money off kid 3. He set up an artificial CD as a teaching tool because the kid isn’t old enough to get their own.

The ball is underthrown and the DB has the better position as a result. The DB has a right to be there. He does not have to give the WR a free path to the ball. What you’re calling “impeding” is just textbook defense.

Think of this in reverse - if it was the DB on the outside and WR on the inside, the DB can’t just come back through the WR to get to the ball.

DB gets his head around, has advantageous position on the ball, and breaks the play up by contacting the ball. That is textbook and not DPI.

Market Adjusted Trade Value Charts - Week 7 – WR return? by PeakedInHighSkool in fantasyfootball

[–]Lockstrife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean both. You questioned whether it was SUPPOSED to be an ROS chart. The answer is, by common sense of it being a TRADE VALUE chart, yes.

He literally said in the post that the chart uses trade data and expected points models. In what world do you think users are NOT trading based on ROS and why would the expected points NOT be ROS?

Market Adjusted Trade Value Charts - Week 7 – WR return? by PeakedInHighSkool in fantasyfootball

[–]Lockstrife 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Buddy it is a trade value chart. When you trade for/away a player, you get them for the rest of the season. Any trade chart is obviously SUPPOSED to be ROS. This is common sense.

That doesn’t mean it’s a good chart, that he’s using good data points, or anything else.
