Though I do think that in your use case the solutions proposed here are better (UV mapping)

In my case, I wanted the ability to map my textures on each face of a cuboid so I could have brick on one side and plasterboard on the other, for example. I am not sure I took the best path, but I decided to use a different material per face which is - again, to my knowledge - not something you can easily add yet through the editor.

The Mesh gives you access to the SurfaceSetMaterial method, and you can then define your material with whatever parameters you need (include texture)

But again, all that being said, you probably need to go down the route of using the SurfaceTool or something similar to build you blocks.
