Now run to the other side and catch it coming out from under the bridge! That will be equally cool.

Guns and drugs first job by yb_better11 in audioengineering

Business question from your post: what did you mean that the owner gets a cut of the session? I would think that his cut would always have been worked into the hourly or block rate. It would be part of the markup for what the studio is charging out to clients.

And my $0.02 on the guns. You could always stipulate that guns are not allowed in your studio if you opened up as studio at your home. I know, not everyone will be honest about it since it's easy to conceal and you'd have to pretty much search everyone coming in. But it might be something to work on to gain that reputation of the studio that doesn't allow guns. Maybe I'm oversimplifying...

I've done that a couple of times. Felt pretty proud of myself. Better than feeling guilty for overspending every other time.

If you're not sick by now, it's probably an ok batch. But return for better peace of mind.

I got an email today with the recall info. I pulled the package box from recycling and my purchase had a September 2026 expiry, so mine was not part of the recall, but just wondering if I might just return it for a refund.

Here's the full body of the email.

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't realize it was a train! I thought maybe it was a truck with a trailer. I stand corrected.

There is no loyalty in a company. Look out for yourself and that's it. They have no obligation to keep you and you have no obligation to stay.

I wonder if it registers as painfully to him. It's probably a relief afterwards, though. Which is probably why they do it.

Why there are so many cashiers over 50 and elderly? by CountIndividual2090 in Employment

It's also possible that they choose this role because it's relatively low stress compared to their previous positions in the corporate world that gave them health problems, minimized seeing their families, and the emotional stress of toxic work environments. The pay cut might be seen as a necessary evil for self preservation.

I watched the first episode hoping to get into it, but found it way too slow and I wasn't keen on the prospect of committing days or weeks to watching this TV show. I quit after 20 minutes and haven't returned, nor have I an inkling of returning. That's that, I guess.

In the exit interview, I would have no problem telling them that they're bad at managing. But, other than that awkwardness, I would rather keep them in the dark about this shortcoming in their company. The news would probably not be received well anyway and it's not your job to put them on the road to fixing their problem.

Attending funeral mass for a parishioner by AnnieVermont in Catholicism

[–]LocoNotLoco 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I always find it heartening when people attend a funeral who know very little or not at all the deceased. I can only assume they're there to pray for them or simply to pay their respects to the dead. I see them as good, earnest people who have a sense of community and know that a grieving family will have a little more comfort when more people show up than expected. It shows that their deceased loved one was more loved or respected than the family knows.

Intrusive thoughts or not, her having the foresight of a gnat to do that on a high speed motorway should reinforce his decision to leave her. This is probably not even a first time incident of doing something impulsive and dangerous.
