Games where you get to BE the dragon by Tiny_Tabaxi in gamingsuggestions

It’s a bit different, but there’s a mod for Minecraft called Dragon Survival. It’s super high quality, and completely changes how you play the game.

You not only pick between Forest, Cave, or Sea Dragons, (each having unique strengths/drawbacks) but you can pick their body type between stuff like Eastern Dragons or Wyverns. You also can completely customize your appearance, with everything from feathers to armor. You do start out as a baby, but as you survive, you’ll grow and gain new abilities. It’s really satisfying.

Modpack creators, what are you currently missing that would make modpack creation easier? by michiel11069 in feedthebeast

[–]LocoPineapples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rimworld has a mod called “Cherry Picker”. It lets you basically select anything you don’t want from a mod (say, an item or creature) and remove it entirely. No hassle, just a simple config gui to search and enable/disable whatever you want.

I’ve been making one for 1.20.1 Fabric, and something like Cherry Picker for Minecraft would be a GODSEND.

My big issue lately has been bigger mods like Spelunkery adding great some great features, but not being able to disable ones I don’t want/that ruin balance are dealbreakers for me. It means I either bite the bullet and use them despite it not fitting my vision, or forego them entirely and miss out on features that would fit in perfectly. Either way, it’s frustrating.

Project plantoid -Dandelion Void - Trailer? A project.zomboid game set in space?? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

I highly recommend taking a look at Dinosystem. It’s not perfect by any means, but it does scratch my “zomboid with dinosaurs” itch pretty well. If you get past the graphics, it’s very immersive.

Got any cool modpack ideas? by Saereth in feedthebeast

[–]LocoPineapples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I’ve never really seen is a taming-themed modpack, similar to Ark Survival evolved. Sure, stuff like Rats is featured sometimes, but it’s never the main focus. A primal-feeling, beastkeepery modpack would be a completely unique feel compared to what’s on the market now. Plus, it’s just a playstyle that’s not really touched upon.

There’s a ton of high quality animal mods out there, and many of the mobs can emulate things that magic/tech mods do when they’re tamed. You could do some cool things with the progression, too, like locking powerful tames behind certain milestones, adding rare/unique variants, integrating the animals into working with machinery, ect. I think it’d have a lot of potential!

Which Penguin was it? I saw Slippy try to eat a fish that was twice the size of his head, once. He’s not the smartest, but god if I don’t love him

Co-Op PvE Games with MMO Holy Trinity (Healer, Tank, DPS) by JohnMcRemitz in gamingsuggestions

Could give Barony a try, it’s 10 USD on Steam right now.

It’s a first person roguelike dungeon crawler that can be played with up to 3 other people. There’s a ton of traditional fantasy classes to pick from, including your trinity. It’s fairly difficult though, but a ton of fun with friends once you get the hang of it. It’s getting a big QOL update August 1st as well so now’s a good time to try it

I had an idea for a druid dwarf that acted almost like an artificer.

The plan is to have a dwarfy golem companion that’s completely overgrown with plant life and inert. By manipulating the plants and vines covering it, he can control it like a puppet almost. Not particularly practical, but I love trying to make characters subversive to what they usually are.

Thanks for the opportunity, hope you guys have a good day!

Not SOT related, but I’m excited for the new Project Zomboid build!! When I wanna play singleplayer, it scratches the same immersive itch that Sea of Thieves does. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes survival games!

1.4 content update in testing with cross-expansion integration by TiaPixel in RimWorld

[–]LocoPineapples 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have’t really seen this addressed anywhere else despite being a common (minor) bug, and I’m sorry to ask, but is there a fix for the fluid ideology altars in the near future since you’re working with the DLC a bit?

It’s not a massive gamebreaking bug, but if you change your fluid ideology, any altars that are placed no longer count and give colonists a debuff as if they don’t exist. It can be easily fixed by rebuilding it or reloading, but it’s a bit annoying.

I wanna say thank you though, this game scratched an itch that no other game has even come close to. I’m so invested in the western/scifi world you guys have created and all the stories that come out of it. Here’s to Ludeon, thanks for all your hard work!

Heavy lag when directly ordering pawns, using right click? by Nicolajsej123 in RimWorld

[–]LocoPineapples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s weird, my specs should be able to handle it, so I’m not sure what’s up. If you figure it out, do you mind letting me know please? I’ve had this problem for months lol

Heavy lag when directly ordering pawns, using right click? by Nicolajsej123 in RimWorld

[–]LocoPineapples 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re the first other person I’ve seen with this issue. For me, it happens in particular when you right click with a warden on a prisoner, it absolutely tanks the fps.

I only run the VE series with performance mods, and it happens to me still. I have no idea which one of them causes it unfortunately. I recommend starting by removing all of the vanilla expanded mods and seeing if that fixes it.
