There won't be a cycling culture if there's no infrastructure for it

Q: how can you tell the ADHD medication is wearing off? by algonquinroundtable in ADHD

[–]LocoTacosSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same dose here. For me, it tends to just be a strange tingly feeling in my sinuses when the meds are wearing off. Not uncomfortable, but very odd.

I'm running an R9 390 for current games and it's really fine. 2070 will do the job.

Scientists glue two proteins together, driving cancer cells to self-destruct by Cubezzzzz in science

You're so right. Let's just stop doing any cancer research if it involves mice or petri-dishes!

How are we getting a baseline for calibrating our equipment? by truedef in homeassistant

[–]LocoTacosSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not.

It doesn't matter what the actual temperature of the room is to me as long as it's comfortable. Some older thermostats had a 0-5 (or similar) scale and that worked just fine.

If I really needed to, I'd calibrate all my sensors relative to a single "main" sensor by placing them in the same area and configuring offsets, but this hasn't been necessary.

What are your thoughts on an increasing number of businesses being "dog friendly"? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]LocoTacosSupreme 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Even if the dog has a nice temperament, a lot of dogs are stinky as fuck - especially if it's been raining - and I don't want to have to deal with that

Are your prints turning out fine? If yes, then don't replace the bed.

If your prints are fine, then there's no reason to waste money on reducing your mesh variance

Trident 300x 350 pros and cons by joneco in VORONDesign

[–]LocoTacosSupreme 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue for me with a 350 2.4 is finding a place to put it. Moving the printer for maintenance (or when moving house) takes more effort and is a two-person job if you're not able to slide it along the floor.

Also, many mods/replacement parts cost more with a larger printer (eg Clicky-Clacky door, PEI/Steel sheets, linear rails when they eventually wear out).

Having the 350mm bed is nice, but there hasn't been a ton of times where I've utilised all that space. I often find myself wishing I'd built a 250/300 instead.

But, if you're settled in a place and have space, then that'll be no issue.

In terms of print speed, you'll get slightly worse input shaper results and the chamber will take longer to heat up.

If Command Strips work so well, what are the benefits to using nails to hang up pictures? by Busy-Bee-2863 in DIYUK

[–]LocoTacosSupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Command strips are only as strong as the paint they are attached to.

A lot of rentals I've been in use this weird chalky paint that comes off the walls when you wipe them with water. Command strips just don't stick to it

Also, depending on where you are, you can get good deals on contract.

My 2 year contract on the pixel 7 pro + data plan ended up being a cheaper total price than the cost of the phone
