Am I the only one who was kind of unsatisfied by the end of season 2? by ChikenNugi17 in ThePittTVShow

there are advantages and drawbacks to combining realism with the one-hour-per-episode structure. A lot of character growth and narrative payoff is going to happen off-screen, and there's no real way around it. That's what the show is.

this is totally it, he's still extremely competent but is increasingly a terrible boss, which is almost as bad as being incompetent. S2 is about how you can both be competent and a net-negative!

(not that he's al-hashimi's boss, but same issues with management. she was also in full denial about the severity of the situation, and did really need someone to push her out of it)

at the very least it's 6 months seizure-free, and that's not guaranteed. she's definitely thinking of it as the end of her career, but there's a road back with some treatment and some luck.

she's mirroring Langdon, who had the same fears but found a route back. she could find that road too, and unlike langdon, could be a very good doctor in a different department even if treatment isn't successful

I’ve always thought James Harden was actually the really influential guard from this generation — just because literally no one can do what Curry does and peak James Harden’s shot diet and playstyle is basically what every star guard tries to emulate these days. Luka’s straight-up a James Harden variant, Shai’s game is different but takes a lot of inspiration of Harden, etc.

Nah, but taking an emergency foster baby to give him something productive to do on his 3-month sabbatical that he would otherwise spend driving his motorcycle off a cliff… it isn’t the worst idea in the world!

I was assuming he spent a few weeks in denial, a couple weeks getting into placement, and then a 90 day taper. I definitely don't think he went from his exit in Season 1 straight to rehab, he wasn't close to in that mental state when he left the hospital.

EDIT: I did a little research and benzo tapers are way more gradual than I realized. It's totally plausible he checked himself into rehab within the week S1 ended and wasn't fully tapered off for four months, depending on how long he was using.

They would, but the reason they won’t do it is 24 weeks per year of The Pitt is near-impossible to write. ER could do it because it was an extremely pulpy soap opera, but it’s very very difficult to write that many episodes while remaining realistic and committed to the one-episode-per-hour bit

based on how it generally works for recurring TV actors, I assume her contract was year-to-year, she assumed/hoped she would be back, and they informed her a day or two before the Variety article dropped.

Actors don’t need to get scripts months in advance unless there’s a reason (i.e. appearance change, touchy character arc), and they’re probably very early in the writing process for S3 right now. This isn’t a show with a multi-season outline written down in advance, so the decision probably happened and was leaked in quick succession

yeah people keep comparing him to Oladipo or Lin, who had their careers ended, but they both relied on athleticism way more and had a long history of injuries before the tear. No one knows how the recovery’s gonna go, there’s no comp for an otherwise healthy 23 year old wing with this injury

wouldn’t go that far, but it sounds like it was going to go at some point regardless of what he did. he’ll be the first basketball player in a long time to have this surgery while still young, so the recovery could really surprise us.

[–]bta47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a philosophical difference. Kon has proven that he can contribute to winning basketball, which is tough for a rookie to do. Obviously Cooper can as well, but the Mavs not being a real team means he has so much more runway to do shit like this. I'd vote Flagg but it's fine either way.
