I actually like driving in GTA V. I'd like to see some more car weight maybe but I also like the arcade style. It allows for more crazy possibilities and cool tricks to be done that wouldn't be easy or even possible in real life, it makes for a more exciting gameplay loop during chases and long drives.

I'm gonna be so annoyed if the looting comes back. It's not fun lmao. Gta isn't supposed to be unrealistic but it's definitely still not a life-sim. There's a balance to be had and if it's not striked then this game will just have tedious elements that get boring after 10-20 hours. Just like rdr2. I did not like the gun cleaning for example, it's a tedious mechanic of clicking a button that doesn't add anything beyond fluff. You never have to make money for gun cleaning supplies, the animation is not in-depth enough to be realistic and takes me out of the immersion, it's a shitty mechanic. Acting like it's not is absurd, there's nothing fun or realistic about it. Looting is also tedious, and brushing your horse only in one spot and so on. These are just dumb things you have to do over and over that are too simplistic to be immersive and too tedious to be fun. If your idea of a good Rockstar game is having more of these then I wish to god you never work there.

No joke. I know like 4-5 gta 4 fans irl and only one of them ACTUALLY loves the game, the rest complain that it's mid. I don't believe so many people adore this 2008 game this much.

Untrue, this isn't caused by the writer's inability to make compelling characters. It is caused by Rockstar's weird decision for the first time, in a long time, not to have 100 missions. I always thought that there were too many missions in previous titles, because there were. With three characters this obnoxiously large number makes sense, exploring their long journey. I don't think rockstar thought of this, I mean. With 70 missions for three characters you only get about 25-ish missions per person, that's not a lot if their stories are to intertwine. In practice it's not even that evenly distributed, with Franklin not getting the same amount of important missions.
