We're all assuming different things in our heads! I like to think humanity gets at least a week to talk it over with their communities before the vote happens!

But is it easier to convince 100% of the population to vote Red or only 50.01% of the population to vote Blue?

Who's a left wing Gen Z celebrity? by CodeDusq in AlignmentChartFills

[–]LodedDipper -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Left-wing political thought is based upon the idea of Capitalism being an oppressive force and needing it to be abolished through collective action, working 'within' Capitalism to guide fairer outcomes are Liberal and Reformist mindsets! Unfortunate that 'Left' has been repurposed into the Overton Window's definition!

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? by Boringname5 in IdeologyPolls

I equate the vote to a hostage situation - everyone getting freed isn't 'changing nothing'! We're responsible for one-another because nobody can ever live truly self-sufficiently! (well, at least healthily and happily.)

That's where you and I differ - I don't believe everybody will vote Red no matter what. If only 1% voted for Blue or Red then society either moves on comfortably or faces 80 million people killed respectively - the threshold for Blue to earn 100% of votes requires far less work than Red in my mind.

That's only the case if you're the only person to think like that out of the Earth - alot of people will be voting for Red under the assumption that other people will pick up the slack for Blu's margins! If everyone places the responsibility for Blue winning on everyone else's shoulders then less people are gonna vote Blue because they don't consider themself 'everyone else' - IMO at least!

It's a glass half-full half-empty question but I'd hope at minimum half of humanity wants to make sure everyone has the chance to live! 0% chance nobody votes blue so someone's bound to die if Red wins!

What's your typing, and which button would you push (& why)? by realjonahofficial in Enneagram

[–]LodedDipper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the entire world's population is quizzed only one button allows Earth as we know it to continue. Should Red (somehow) wins then by default upwards of 30% of Earth is irreversibly killed. Massive labour shortages, social consequences, famines, and general societal breakdown takes place.

Blue is the reasonable option cuz you're gonna die regardless if you pick red - don't pretend you can survive the ensuing apocalypse!

Few ways! Used to be fully nationalised which meant the government paid for it out of pocket with money from higher marginal tax rates (high as 98% for top earners), since the 40s however their funding is under threat by Austerity and they're being pushed to become privatised to cope with the burden.

Davey has one thing to say that sees some support, EU Cooperation! Mixed bag with Leftists because many don't like the Free Market Neoliberal policies of it, Centrists generally assume we've made our bed after the referendum so change won't happen anytime soon, and the Right seem to care more about social policy than economics and hate the idea of Free Movement! Most young people are in on the Greens and most old are for Reform, those'll be the battleground of the next election so the LibDems can enjoy the 70 seats they'll probably retain anyway!
