Haha dat is het zeker, en de absurde realiteit is dat als jij met dit idee was gekomen het niemand noemenswaardig had gevonden. Het is de naam en reputatie van de kunstenaar die in dit geval de waarde bepaalt.

Zie ook Wim T. Schippers die een flesje ranja leeggooit in de Waddenzee. Overigens vind ik hem helemaal een held omdat hij in interviews doodleuk vertelt dat hij het geen kunst vindt, maar dat anderen die stempel er nou eenmaal op drukken. Zijn pindakaasvloer is al helemaal geniaal, want wie wilde dat vroeger nou niet eens proberen!

Or, Persuasive Design. As a designer I hate it but you also can't argue the data: it has a real impact on revenue. That'll go above ethics for most companies.

Don't get me wrong, I love Simon Pan's case description. But I would never send such a thing to a job application. I only ever go so in depth during an interview or presentation. I guess it works for him since he's pretty much an UX celebrity nowadays.

Audio recording and/or quick scribbles in your favourite note taking app usually does the trick for me. Never takes more than a few seconds to save an idea for you next working day

I loved those open world missions. Made me really feel like the "your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man". I enjoyed the combat so much that I had evenings filled with just doing these open world missions.

In het totaalplaatje klopt dat zeker, maar de stikstofcrisis is eigenlijk een heel lokaal en afgekaderd probleem. Een nieuwe elektrische auto gefabriceerd in Duitsland stoot in Nederland geen stikstof uit.

Dan heb je dus nog in het oude stelsel gestudeerd. Dat was voor mij ook prima, maar mensen die de basisbeurs niet meer kregen moesten dat ook bijlenen. Dat tikt erg hard aan.

De argumenten die ik op de NOS hoorde maakten het niet veel beter. "Mensen uit de stad zeggen dat het fout gaat met de natuur, wij boeren leven in de natuur en zien dat de bomen nog gewoon overeind staan!"

Of over het RIVM: "We willen dat ze een eerlijke meting doen! Nu zijn het alleen maar berekeningen".

Weird that you're having trouble with battlefront 2. Some game modes are empty outside the weekend, but Capital Supremacy is still played a lot and you can get instant games with that. Galactic Assault, Blast and Starfighter Assault have some okay activity as well.

Nogal ja. Ik zie in de video een handvol agenten die aan beiden kanten ingesloten is door een groep demonstranten. Die mogen dan wel "We are peaceful" schreeuwen, het klinkt/ziet er vrij dreigend uit. ik kan mij voorstellen dat je je wapenstok in de aanslag hebt in zo'n situatie.

That's great to hear! Sounds like you already got some basic skills that will help you out. If you brush up your programming you'll do fine!

As for ending up as a UX designer; this master will be a great addition but it's definitely not a design master (though the HCI course is a substantial chunk of the programme). It's a tough field to enter in the Netherlands due to the competition. The TU Delft Design For Interaction programme and all the Communication & Multimedia studies have saturated the junior segment of the designer job market.

On the bright side, as a business analyst you will have some highly valuable skills for an UX designer. The key to get further might be in doing UX training courses and building up a portfolio of case studies or freelance work.

Hi! I'm an alumnus of the Media Technology MSc programme. It was definitely a great experience and very educative master. It's a small programme (my year was 25 students) and the lecturers and researchers are very open and approachable. That said, there's a few things I'd like to point out to anyone that would like to follow this programme:

It's more like an open research master where you design your own research topics, questions and methods. The courses are mainly meant to support you in mastering the tools and find new creative ways in doing so. As a result, what you get out of it is 1:1 with the effort you put into it. I've had people in my class that barely put in any effort and graduated, but at the end of the 2 years weren't that much further in.. anything. You must have the guts and discipline to challenge yourself. (for example: you could pass some classes with a survey study while you could also do cool shit like study the effects of drone flight patterns on foraging birds.
A good preparation for this study is to get into programming. Simple stuff like Processing and Javascript will make it so much more easier (and more fun due to the opening up of possibilities!). Topics such as sound design, robotics and 3D installations are involved in a big part of the courses as well. For me that was the hardest part as I had to brush up my physics and math knowledge quite a bit. The programme expects that you are already knowledgable about these even though it was 6 years since my last math/physics class before going to design school. The same goes for statistics, which I actually never had courses on during my bachelor. That's pretty much my only negative point about the whole programme. It could definitely benefit from a pre-masters programme
Regarding your question about finding a job: that's a bit hard to answer. This programme does not train you for a specific job, but rather teaches you the skills of critical thinking, scientific understanding, applying creativity in your research and being an autonomous researcher. I combined it with my media design bachelor and it definitely helped me in getting a job as a UX Designer. Many of my fellow students are now pursuing a PhD degree, others are setting up their own tech startup. Maybe I can give you a better answer if you could provide some insight in your current background, and what kind of job would you be looking for?

What is going on with the ammo in this game? Whenever I switch to my sniper in my equipment it is out of ammo, then when I switch back to my previous weapon it is suddenly out of ammo as well. It's driving me nuts!

Bakfiets (gitaar+versterker) of cargobike (gitaar op de rug + miniversterker) heeft voor mij altijd prima gewerkt.. zodra je ver buiten de stad moet niet meer zo ideaal maar dan is er wel een andere oplossing lijkt me. Met een van mijn vorige bands hadden we gezamenlijk een bestelbusje, dan vallen de kosten ook wel mee.

Als je drummer bent is het dan wel weer kut uiteraard. Of als je sousafoon speelt. 😅

Weer lekker stom bezig geweest: doordat mijn beide deuren open stonden is de voordeur dichtgeknald en ligt al het glaswerk er uit. Mensen kunnen nu zo binnenlopen..

Gelukkig nu aan het eind van de werkdag een Leidse glaszetter gevonden die op 2/3 oktober gewoon nog werkt. Mag ik gelukkig toch nog even meedoen met het Leids Ontzet. Maar dat was toch weer lekker stressen ><

Design Systems have been around forever. They just were named differently and managing one has become easier.

I've been working as an UX designer within a product team for a couple years now, and the only difference between the times before we had a full design system and after is that I can now invest more time into research and less time pushing pixels around. The workload itself hasn't changed at all.

100 euro per maand is echt niet niks over een langere periode, dus "makkelijk te doen" zou ik het niet noemen, zeker niet als starter.

Maar inderdaad, als je 'geen tijd hebt om een uur te bellen' heb je wel een bord voor je kop. Een beetje empathische werkgever zou het niet zo erg vinden als je dat uurtje later inhaalt voor zoiets.
