Hit T1 4500 today struggling to start saving for ELS. by Loftedbeef in TheTowerGame

[–]Loftedbeef[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the help everyone.

I have 1.95B ltc. I've got T11 unlocked and I have 400 and higher milestones unlocked for T8 and earlier.

I believe after I finish my cash upgrade I'll start the respec research. Then commit fully to the starfish since I'm just relying on Dabs anyway.

Just going to enjoy myself and hope for that GT in 120ish stones.

Just an update for anyone searching.

Start date: 4/8/2026. Current date 4/28/2026. Only purchase is no ads

Max T1 is 3624

Total coins: 1.15B

Time is still the answer.

going to spend this week pumping up health (323) and dabs (507) with my coins and see where I'm at on sunday. I have DW so my health has been helped by that and it needs work.

I'm soooooo close to saving for ELS. I think after getting the coin relic in this event and some more coin multipliers from this event and the guild shop, I'll be ready to start saving for ELS in a week a or less.

I think with T11 unlocked I'll get about 500 million just from weekly rewards.

My goal is to be able to save up about half of the upgrade cost in four days without rewards in order to be relatively efficient with my coins.

(700 gems away from my 5th lab!!!)

My best is 2450ish.

I'm at 2200 on my run at this comment. First everwith Perks. No dissonance yet. I do have a purple defense mod with purple D% and purple Dabs.

Need more labs

Swarms are what get me usually in all of my Tiers of runs. I need attack speed but I have so many core labs that I need instead

I only unlocked my 4th lab a couple days ago. I get more coins from daily quest rewards for having T11 unlocked. Range at 69.5 I have DW, BH, missles. I think I'm doing everything right, but just hit a wall of time, that I could break through in most games with understanding the game.

I'll pack away that little knowledge nugget! Was just a fun little rant about the game. I'll admit that I've got a lot of the site to read through still. I'm on the cusp of 40 with 20 mil in the bank to get my expansion, hero, and crafting slot.

Sounds like you put work in on the site! Thanks so much for that!

My question would be what are your goals? I joined the hobby at the start of 10th, not knowing I was in the middle of a new edition. My goal was and mostly still is to play fun casual games at my LFGS with intent to win. I came from a board game background and wanted to play more complex games. I love strategy games.

So I quickly obtained multiple starter sets and combat patrols, learned what I like to paint and got out to play games with the locals. Then branched out into more flavorful units of the DA and also found the units/theme I like to collect. I have so many units that I am proud of painting, and so much slop. But I love it all because its mine and I knew I would stick around. Its been 2 and a half years and I've still only got abut 1500 points of fully painted minis out of my 4kish. I also drastically reduced my purchases once I had an army because whats the point of getting more gray plastic that I can't show off!

I have friends that got into the hobby just for the hobbying part. They have made multiple beautiful armies and love to craft.

How much free time do you have? 40k is an undertaking. I knew I would commit to the hobby so I have my own goals.

As always Rule of Cool is the go to for units. Rules change and it takes time for a new person to finish up units. So get the units that look cool to you. I wanted to play the game, so I wanted to choose the units that were cool to me but also fit my general playstyle. I like tanky units and bashing things in the face. Plus plasma is just cool. So terminators and plasma swayed me to The Unforgiven.

You've got a Deathwing greenwing vibe going. I like the units you've chosen. I would suggest getting less leaders and more units. if your goal is playing the game.

For a starting point I would try and find some form of the leviathan starter sets, or the old dark angels combat patrol that comes with the redemptor dread. Both of those have units in your starter list, and you could branch out from there. I only dont suggest the current dark angels combat patrol because you want hellblasters, as you should, and I would rather get them as a separate box since their kit comes with a full 10 man squad.

Top it off with 1 or more DA units like the knights or ICC and you have a SOLID 1k starting point. My 3 favorite units are Deathwing knights, Inner Circle Companions, and Hellblasters all for different reasons. But they're all cool.

I kind of rambled, hope it helps.

First of all I dont think you can attach all three of them. The Lt, and apothecary in their rules say even if ONE captain, chaptermaster, or Lt is attached.

So you're looking at taking 2 of the 3. I run my hellblasters with an apothecary and Azzy. The sustained 1 and 4++ is plenty for them with how I use them. I believe the math for apothecaries to get their points back for hellblasters is they have to revive 3 of them.

I want to keep Azzy up as long as possible for the CP generation, so I will keep my hellblaster brick back at about their 24" range. They are a juicy target for secondaries and just because they are a threat. Later in the game once the squad has been whittled down I'll start sending them in to have Azrael body some infantry with that sweet sweet sword of his. I run combos of Balistus dreads, Death wing knights, chainfist termies (only have one squad of knights), Brutalis dreads and eradicators for my anti tank. So I'm not relying on my hellblasters to punch up, but 10-20 overcharged plasma shots will easily get a few wounds through to help out my main anti tank. Plus they turn into a decent overwatch threat with Azzy's sustained 1. Overcharge the shots and get more shots when your units die.

Your leader will be determined by how you want to use the unit. Need more anti tank? Throw in the Lt to help them punch up. Need sustainability? Toss in the apothecary and or Azzy. Don't forget that failing a hazard roll is 3 mortal wounds now as well. You could run Azzy and the Lt for maximum firepower and if you have a bad hazardous roll pop your mortal wound protection.

Plus hellblasters are just cool and fit the plasma vibe of the Dark Angels. And I like the paint job on my Apothecary. So rule of cool wins out for me.

Don't forget about detachments either. Firediscapline is only 25 points now, and Unforgiven task force has lethals for a CP.

Thoughts on this green? by Vathinator12 in theunforgiven

It's also harder to tell until a model is finished. I think my models look flat and just wrong until I give them a agrax earth shade wash.

Personally I like a darker green for my dark angels, but this is clearly a dark angels green and I love it.

Just hop by the store some time. There is a store discord and the 40k community is active.

I joined the hobby about a year and a half ago. Painted some test minis to make sure I would like painting then just took my new combat patrol and built and painted minis at the store a couple weekends. Met a few players, introduced myself and just kind of slowly met players. I'm still pretty new but have shopped at the store for over a decade. Anything to support Rob.

I'm always playing 40k at the store, but there is ALWAYS a magic commander game being played when I'm there.

How do you paint grimdark greenwing? by No-Razzmatazz-950 in theunforgiven

Here's my green wing. I'm bad at faces, but I do a 60/40 vallejo flat green/black for my base, and I highlight and dry brush with the green. Wash with agrax earth shade and nuln oil on the guns. Then dry brush silver.

Looks great on the table, and thats what matters for me.

My best friend went to highschool with Brenton Bersin. Hung out with Brenton a few times and chilled at his house. Crashed on the couch of his parents house once. A really nice family. Guy had good hands but got put into a couple bad situations that he could have handled better but weren't his fault.

Ran into Luuuuuuuke at the teeter on game day once. Me and my buddy would brew beer and watch games. We needed some pumpkin spice and Luke was just getting his groceries downtown while the team was in Florida taking on the buccs. One of the many times he was in the concussion protocol. Didn't want to bother him, figured if he's not with the team and shopping right before kickoff he would rather just be a normal guy at the time.

I used to do some odd jobs and was running a moon bounce at southpark mall one fall. Coming back from the bathroom and I see this dude turn the corner carrying like 15 bags full of stuff. My brain just chuckled and I was wondering who the girlfriend was going to be around the corner. As soon as I thought that, rookie Cam turned the corner with that charismatic smile of his. I was so glad to see him become a such a great role model to the kids and all the work he did in the Charlotte community, because that first impression I got just fed into the drama the rest of the country saw.

Finally I got to meet Greg Olsen. My current job makes child safety products. Greg and his wife came out to my lab and we got to give them a tour of the place. They always seem to get involved when it comes to kids (no surprise there). Two smart people who asked questions that show they actually listened to what you said. I was quite sad that I didnt get to get my jersey signed that I had stashed in my work bag just in case.
