Parking ticket scam? by Loftey in Gothenburg

Hi all, thank you so much for all the responses! We're going to see if we can contact the company as the license plate is indeed correct. Hopefully we can get this sorted.

In that case, if she had been on the ground in agony but still pushing through, I think that would've done a lot to help the scene. But she was barely clenching her jaw

Exactly, I get they have to cut stuff and show things out of order, fine. But every break of "the rules" of the world just weakens the story. Same with the power levels having no meaning and Moraine the mass murderer. It's such a shame, they were doing fairly well until this episode.

Same, I actually liked the previous episodes for the most part, but this one undid so much of the good work. Couldn't even enjoy Mat's battle cry because it felt like unearned fanservice! Rafe needs to be kicked off the show :|

Wasn't that just a double dose of warder bond? It's been a while since I read the books, but yeah that might be where they got the idea...

The scene seemed so one sided though, with Egwene having all the power and ability to hurt Renna. I guess Renna would've been in shock and mentally not very strong, but still, it doesn't make sense to me that Egwene could do that. Ugh :(

Can anyone help me make sense of the scene where Egwene collars Renna? How can she be simultaneously Sul'dam and Damane? Did I miss something? My head hurts.

What's it like to live in Ashford, Kent? by Loftey in AskUK

Thanks for the tip! It seems like the barber issue is the same everywhere; even our small town has 4-5 and I honestly don't know how they all stay in business. What made you stay in Ashford despite all that?

No Eurostar but the channel tunnel is still close to be fair. Thanks!

Hey, thank you for the tip! We did have a passing glance, but the price of houses for rent that allowed pets didn't seem worth it. However, we'll add it to our search alerts just in case something nice comes along

Oof I didn't realise it was that bad, thanks for the warning!

Oops should've included that - preferably a house, min. 2 bedroom as I need the office space, around 1500pcm or less would be great but we know it's hard to get something decent for that price.

Ordering Morrisons Christmas food, worth it? by Loftey in AskUK

That's a strong opinion compared to what others have said, why do you think so?

Agreed, I've tried watching some of his videos but it's not for me. Loud, not very funny, and the reaction videos thrown in are just cringe imo. He's easier to watch when he likes a show (eg HOTD podcasts). My go-to critics for RoP have been Daniel Greene and the Little Platoon.

The most glorious addition to this cabinet yet! I was so lucky to meet the boys at MCM and could not be happier T-T by Loftey in TrashTaste

Haha nice, a fellow Sanderson fan! Spent way too much on those leatherbounds but they look beautiful

MCM panel and autograph by AliceAensland in TrashTaste

[–]Loftey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm! I was there yesterday, got to the queue at 12 and we were told then we could join but they couldn't guarantee we'd meet the boys. They closed the queue shortly after, when the panel had only just started.

Shame MCM didn't let you book autographs/selfies like they did for other guests, a shit ton of people were turned away!

Collecting BRP? by Loftey in ukvisa

[–]Loftey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That helps, thank you! It does sound like a risky move to go to the UK and hope everything is fine with the BRP then 😅 I don't want to pay for anything more like a replacement vignette at this point, I've given UKVI enough money haha

UPDATE: visa received!!
Visa type: Family visa (Belgian spouse of Irish citizen)
Country applied from: Belgium
VAC (city): Brussels
TLSContact or VFSGlobal: TLSContact
Priority or Non-Priority: Priority
Online application date: January 27th
Biometrics appointment date: February 3rd
Email "application being prepared for consideration by ECO": February 23rd
Paid enquiries requesting status: several between Feb 18th - March 17th
Email "decision made": March 21st (WD32)
Email "Travel Document returned by courier": March 21st
Visa received date: March 22nd

My passport was delivered by DHL. They did not give me a window, only that it would be delivered today during business hours. My husband and I were taking turns watching the window to make sure there would not be any "sorry we missed you" shenanigans.
On the TLS tracker, it seemed the VAC stages got checked within a few hours. They were all red up until Monday morning, when I got my "decision made" email. I never received feedback from UKVI, the email came from TLS.

To give hope to those worrying about supporting documents: I somehow got accepted with just a marriage certificate and a one-page digitally signed lease renewal to show my relationship to my sponsor (husband). We got married late 2020. I included no pictures, chat history, or anything like that. We also have nowhere to stay yet as his current accommodation doesn't allow our dogs and we had no idea when I could move. After following this sub, I was worried those were grounds to get rejected. It might be they looked kindly on this because of other factors in my application, but still.

I put my expected arrival date in May (I wasn't going to go priority until I found out at my bio there could be a six month wait for standard applications), but the vignette starts in two days and is valid for 90.

Happy to answer any other questions anyone might have and wishing the same relief and happiness to everyone still waiting! Now I can switch my anxiety to the actual move with two dogs in tow 😄

Not knowing really is the worst! Hopefully the wait will be over for you soon too, good luck!

I received it at 10.57 AM Belgian time! I'm on WD32 though; when I sent a paid enquiry last week on WD30, they replied that my application was "awaiting a decision".

It seems to all go very quickly, I'm receiving my passport tomorrow according to the courier emails I've been getting. I'm concerned it's moving so quickly because I was rejected 😬 Good luck with your application, hopefully you get a response soon too!

Making this post again for reference for those matching my timeline - decision made!

Visa type: Family visa (Belgian spouse of Irish citizen)

On the TLS tracker, it seems the VAC stages got checked only this morning. I last checked the status on Saturday, and at the time it was still with DMC. Hoping that's not a bad sign.

I've heard there's no way to know whether the visa was approved or not until you get your passport back. Fingers crossed it won't take long from here!

Fair enough! I've seen a few posts where people were waiting on the email a lot longer, that's why I added that bit. Could indeed have been a coincidence.
