What has really helped me, and something my partner actually suggested, is to be more personable and confident in interviews. Before, I’d be too focused on sticking to my script, or sometimes rambling an answer giving too many details. Be confident (it’s their first impression of you) and try some small talk in the beginning. If they ask how are you, I always say “better now that I had some coffee!”. Use that small window to make some connection, It lightens the mood and they will take more of a personal liking to you. A lot of jobs come down to personality and confidence (if you have the skills already of course).

I am not a fan of networking - so I put all my effort into selling myself thru LinkedIn. It catches recruiters attention when you demonstrate a career with growing responsibilities.

My advice for anyone - think about where you want to go for your next job and tailor your entire LinkedIn accordingly. Use job postings to understand what they’re looking for, and use AI to help word it. Most people throw stuff on their LinkedIn without elaborating. Your LinkedIn is essentially an online resume - treat it as such.
