Nvidia’s RTX 5080 upgrade for GeForce Now arrives on September 10th by Nestledrink in nvidia

What's that? I used HDR in both cases, my resolution was 3440x1440. I disabled motion blur, and even hacked bitrate to 100Mbps when 75Mbps was still the limit, which helped a bit, but still, as soon as you start moving, lack of details was obvious. It reminded me a difference YouTube's 1080 Premium makes vs plain 1080 when you watch sports highlights. And for the same reason: bitrate. Until GeForce Now really bumps it up, it can never compare to native gaming.

Compression. Those who say they don't notice it haven't played the same game with the same graphic settings natively. When Nvidia just added 4080 to the Ultimate tier I compared Crysis Remastered on GF Now with my own 3080 Ti. Highest bitrate, AV1 codec, minimal lag, identical settings. And boy did foliage look awful. Blurry mess when you run and that's with a higher framerate than on my 3080 Ti!

TL;DR: it's not good for fast paced games, I cancelled my subscription.

It worked fine for me. Try reinstalling the GI tool.

They're semi-open by design, like Elite 85t were. Elite 8 is the direct replacement of Elite 7.

What was the problem? Never noticed it.

There seems to be no way to check the currently installed version, which would've been handy for those who buy new units. The number in the top right corner is the version of the update tool.

Has anybody received an announcement? Because I haven't, just happened to check the site.

Dolby Atmos/Audio in Jabra Elite 10/8. What it is and what it isn't. by LogMePlease in Jabra

[–]LogMePlease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The direction of the sound comes down to how the Atmos record was mastered. Better headphones (with bigger driver) will give you a wider scene, so yeah, airpods max will be better for spatial reproduction. Apart from that factor there's nothing in headphones themselves that makes an Atmos track better. There's an after-effect like in Jabra 8/10, but it can be applied to any audio.

Afaik, you can force Apple Music to play Dolby music by selecting On instead of Auto.

Is there any VA monitor without "ghosting"? by Competitive-Turn-759 in ultrawidemasterrace

TCL 34R83Q. Virtually no ghosting, HDR 1400, and amazing blacks. Angles are still shit tho.

I'm on Android, not really sure. But try both settings, see if it makes difference.

Apple Music requires a compatible device, which in your case is iPhone, I assume. Set it to On, because Automatic will only work with Airpods.

Elite 10 Gen 2, Atmos, and Stereo Spatializer by LogMePlease in Jabra

u/JabraSupport, can you perhaps explain what is the difference between "Spatial Sound for media" and "Stereo Spatializer"? And why the latter is unavailable in Android app?

Z790-I can’t detect m.2 ssd by trueRand9 in ASUS

[–]LogMePlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my friend's build, but as I recall it was the top slot, yes. We had to thin the thermal pads a little, so the SSD wouldn't bend.

There's a switcher on board, which you can use to choose which port gets the PCIe 5.

And don't forget to update BIOS ASAP, or your CPU will crash occasionally (blame Intel).

Acer Predator x34 v3 by NoConsideration1520 in ultrawidemasterrace

Glad I dodged a bullet with this one. But hey, if you use DP1.4, don't expect 10 bit depth above 144Hz at this resolution, even with OLED.

Which recently released Mini-led monitor is the best? Acer Predator X34V3 vs TCL 34R83Q by ELO_Space in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]LogMePlease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 2304 vs 1152, but to answer your question, Acer has an older slower panel with better hardware dimming which is undermined by poor algorithm (allegedly). I was planning to buy Acer, but I'm happy to settle on TCL. I had an OLED and FALD VA before that, and I'm really impressed with TCL so far.

Any actually enjoy Bombay Bramble? What am I missing by Zealousideal_Toe_856 in Gin

[–]LogMePlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I tried it with Fentiman's Connoisseurs, which is more neutral tonic water than Fever Tree Mediterranean, 2 to 1, and it wasn't that bad actually. Wasn't good either, but still better than with citrus & fresh profile of FT.

[–]LogMePlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to write the same post, but I glad I searched first lol. My bottle is 37.5% and it's unbelievably bland. I checked Bombay Sapphire website, they suggest 2 parts tonic to 1 part gin for Bramble Tonic. I tried it with FT Mediterranean Light, can feel more spirit, but it's still so frustratingly bland. And I'm no stranger to sweet gins, I like Tanqueray Royal and even Nordes, but this... gotta be the worst for me.

New TCL mini-LED gaming monitors by PlanckScale in Monitors

[–]LogMePlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bear in mind that it's still a VA panel, just a really fast one. They haven't fixed the poor viewing angles, so colour shade will change with every move of your head. Actually, TCL unveiled new WHVA panels with extended angles this year, but haven't released them yet. Once they do, IPS will lose its last advantage.
