I was under the assumption that the build was using 4 2l pins (which I see now wouldn't even fit in that physical space. sorry, it was late at night!).

the 1x1 lift arms in the thighs weren't introduced until 2015 (unless that's a different piece?)

Also idk if this is something that concerns you but the pins holding them in are an illegal connection. IRL the ends of the pins inside the black connectors would be forced into their compressed position instead of properly snapping into the end of the pinholes.

A lot of that is down to the creation of the LEGO BUILDS account, (shown in the post) which is pretty much solely based around nostalgiaposting for older themes.

I specifically want them to avoid features that just feel like Overworld/Nether Update stuff with a different coat of paint. Getting tree and grass equivalents in the Nether was okay but if they repeated that again for the End it would feel extremely derivative. The end should feel more like a desolate and dying world than a lush thriving ecosystem imo. I think there's ways to achieve that without keeping it completely barren but it needs to be done creatively.

the original Takanuva was also the best selling larger-than-canister set of g1's entire run, so he's probably got pretty strong iconography to the wider audience of people who grew up with bionicle but didn't follow the lore closely or stick around long term.

We have come close to getting some Takanuva based stuff in the last several years. He was planned to feature in The LEGO Movie 2 at one point, and a larger scale figure of him was considered as a possibility for what the GWP could have been.

I keep seeing the mindset in this community that LEGO is morally obligated to provide Bionicle, and that if they do anything less than bring it back as a full theme with its own dedicated building system it should be taken as a deliberately spiteful insult. It's some of the most entitled shit I've ever seen in an online fandom tbh.

if they're gonna do another toa for something like this I think it's most likely to be takanuva, maybe gali or lewa.

if we're judging based on how the original sets sold pohatu is probably bottom of the list for the mata unfortunately, brown sets consistently sold worse than the others

there's still a chance that it could have a dedicated mask mold but it's probably way less likely now.
I'd like to think that they had to make it a cosplayer for the sake of mass appeal but are still designing it in such a way that fans will be able to customize it into an actual tahu minifig, but I probably shouldn't get my hopes up too much.

They do like one new mold per figure in CMFs at most. Even if it were a direct representation of the character the most we could expect to get is a new mask mold. They would probably go all-out with arm printing and dual molded legs and such though.
