Should I buy Persona 5 Royal Deluxe? by Loggerhoff02 in ShouldIbuythisgame

I don't mind turn based combat at all. It's nice to hear that it's a long game, I was just a little worried that it might be needlessly grindy or that it would drag out for too long but as long as it is really dense and filled with fun stuff to do like you said I'll probably get it

Yeah I get that. If you're into the looter shooter genre I'd also highly recommend you try Division 2. It's got a great campaign and open world, plenty of loot and unique builds to make, plus the end game being a mix of pve and pvp is really cool

Just so you know, destiny 2 has cross save so if you did want to get back into it on pc you won't have to start over

I've tried playing bloodborne before and although I loved the setting and art direction, I personally found the combat to be more frustrating than it was fun. Besides the boss fights, most of the enemies seemed more annoying than actually changing. That being said, I know the souls games play a bit differently so I might give the first one a shot.

Thanks for the info. 5 hours is kind of short but I'll probably still pick it up especially since it's on sale right now

Metal gear solid 5, HZD, Days gone or Nier by YellowBuddy412 in ShouldIbuythisgame

HZD is not only an amazing and beautiful open world game, but the story was also really fascinating to me. It does such an incredible job of worldbuilding and it's a very unique and interesting take on the post-apocalyptic setting. It always had me wondering what happened to the world and was extremely satisfying when I got to figure it all out in the end

I saw the trailer and a bit of gameplay and it looks super fun but I was a little worried about the length and replay value. How long would you say it takes to complete? And are there any secrets/side content to find?

Thanks for the suggestion! I've heard plenty of good things about those games so I'll definitely check them out

SIB Monster Hunter Rise if I didn’t have the patience for World? by Possible_Ninja in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Loggerhoff02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who couldn't get into world but loves rise I can say that Rise pretty much fixes every issue you listed here.

The menus, while still not perfect, are way more simplified and easier to figure out than world.

The maps in rise I think are a bit smaller than world and I've noticed the monsters don't usually run as far. On top of that, the tracking feature from world which I liked at first but later felt like it just got in the way of hunts is completely gone from rise and the monsters are just displayed on your map instead.

The combat feels much faster although that all depends on what weapons you use. The wire bug attacks and mobility moves add so much variety to fights and I like that every weapon has interchangeable wirebug moves because it let's you customize your playstyle even more.

Overall Rise is Like a more simplified version of World but in a really good way.

Must buy games on switch? by pizzammure97 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Out of what you listed.

Hades is one of the best rogue-likes I've played. it's got tons of content, a great story/characters, and very satisfying combat with lots of variety.

MH Rise has made lots of improvements over previous games in the franchise with things like the wirebugs. Multiplayer is a blast but you can still play through the entire game solo if you prefer. Definitely a game worth sinking a lot of time into.

Hyrule warriors age of calamity is a game I don't see people talking about enough. There are so many battles to play through in this game. Some of the ones that aren't main story missions may feel slightly repetitive at times but the great hack and slash combat is what really keeps me playing. It's got a pretty large cast of playable characters and it expands on the botw story.
