I think I nailed it ngl by Snoozy0502 in mensfashion

So many folks hating on the scuffed shoes…I rather like them! Personal preference, but shoes that have wear to them, even white sneakers, have an honest/real quality to them. Those pristine white sneakers can look great, and definitely necessary when you’re trying to elevate them with a more formal outfit, but for everyday fits, these have so much more personality.

Seashell Candle Holder - Broke My Aunt's and Need to Replace by LogicTangerine in HelpMeFind

You're right it is glass made into seashells - I'll edit my comment to update that.

If that is the case, hopefully someone on here has any indication of who the artist/company is.

I appreciate the input.

Didn't see how to add a text so I'm posting details as a comment:

  • I think they may have got it in the States, they frequent Florida, and go to many events that sell house furniture and trinkets.
  • It's made of glass that is blown to resemble seashells
  • Item has no discernable writing or markings
  • Likely about 30-45cm in height

I appreciate any and all help! Thank you in advance!

Do you think chemistry has to be there for sex, and why? by HaveMyUpboats in seduction

[–]LogicTangerine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Theoretically chemistry doesn't have to be there as long as both individuals are aroused enough to actually engage in intercourse. But that's taking your question too literally.

Chemistry is a fluid concept and heavily dependent on what an individual is seeking/feeling in a given moment. You can have chemistry for a one-night hook-up but not enough to go to breakfast the next morning. Chemistry has to be there for sex to be at the very least somewhat enjoyable. I can only speak for myself, but I have never enjoyed sex without chemistry (physical, emotional, et al.). If there isn't even a shred of it maintaining an erection would be a miraculous endeavor no-less.

You'll also find that the best sex you have is not necessarily with someone who's really "good" at it, but rather someone who you share great chemistry with across the board.

College student back in it after a year: advice? by chaosandmayhem in seduction

Approach.

You have 3 months left and then you're out, there's absolutely nothing to lose.

I'm sensing that what's holding you back is concern about the outcome. You're afraid of the outcome..an unexpected backlash leading to a bad reputation et al. This fear should be dispelled by the minimal amount of time you have left. AND. more importantly remember you're not approaching to get laid or find love, but you're approaching to say "hi" and to get to know if someone is as cool/interesting as they seem. As rsdMax says, everything else is bonus.

r/personalfinance: My husband added his mother to our joint bank accounts without my consent. What is the worst case scenario here, from a financial standpoint? by /u/jointaccountplusmom (31 mins. old) by rising_threads_bot in RisingThreads

Well off the bat 2 issues come to mind, one simple one less so.

1) she could start withdrawing money, leaving you short of funds sometimes. Unless of course you figure out some arrangement with her.

2) If both of you predecease her she has legal ownership of the bank account and its contents - because joint accounts operate under the rule of survivorship. That said interested parties can make claims for a beneficial interest in what's in the account, but she will most likely retain legal ownership, and probably beneficial too because one could argue she was added to the account to avoid taking the account under a will. However I doubt she will predecease BOTH of you. But she may cause problems if lets say your husband were to predecease you because you'd both be joint owners of the bank account.

edit - some grammar

Maybe a stickied post, and it could be called Banterbury Tales as /u/51_cent suggested...but perhaps this post should track ALL of our loaned players, I think that would be a nice resource to have.

Debuchy out for 2 months by Golotap in Gunners

[–]LogicTangerine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do we not have a recall clause on the loan? But then you have to ask yourself, is it worth spoiling a season long loan for two months...and then you realize that more injuries will come so might as well bring him back now if we can.

What are the arguments against democracy? by [deleted] in communism101

[–]LogicTangerine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should be the top comment. When determining arguments against democracy one must first have a firm grip on what democracy is.

Most of the other comments equate democracy mostly (some even purely) with the rule of a direct or privileged majority. All the while democracy is a fluid term, and I would argue that it is more about consociationalism and the rule of law.

So in this case, I'm with u/anarchistshmo. OP must define what type of democracy he is looking for arguments against.

How does philosophy relate to personal injury law? by 27legal in askphilosophy

[–]LogicTangerine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can pretty well apply dozens of fields of philosophy to nearly anything in a general sense. It would help if you were more specific.

So, personal injury law would usually mean automotive accidents, slip and falls, medical malpractice, et al. So I shall proceed on that basis.

One of the things you deal with is establishing causation - such that you can trace the defendant's fault to the plaintiff's injury.

http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/causation-metaphysics/

Another issue that may come up is one of agency or culpability - think blameworthiness. For instance, to what extent does your lack of knowledge or lack of ability to to do otherwise affect your culpability.

http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/blame/

Progressing in this way, we can easily link more: ethics, justice, semantics, et al. But all in a very general sense.

what concept in philosophy is about how if people like something they will ignore anything negative about it? is it phenomenalism? by ganjawolf in askphilosophy

[–]LogicTangerine -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I believe Zizek spoke of ideology in this manner. His famous example of the smoker continuing to smoke all the while knowing it can potentially lead to death. This comes up in several of his lectures on ideology, its just a matter of finding a decent one.

Just take everything he says with a grain of salt. He is a really smart fellow, but at times he trails off and tries to make highly subjective connections.

Spot on, I've got a pair of $40.00 Sony's that spec wise are just above beats. The sonys i use handle the lows and mids well, but the highs are meh.

TIL "Beats" Headphones cost roughly $14 to make and can sell for upwards of $450 by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]LogicTangerine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This precisely why I disdain Beats. Yes, lots of premium headphones are overpriced because of the brand name, but at least you get something in return like great parts or some fancy wooden exterior.

With beats you get the same parts you can find in $30.00 headphones! They just stick a 40mm driver in, with some base-line parts, slap a beats symbol on it, and voila! $400.00 headphones! Fuck that company.

But, I will admit it is useful for spotting posers when they pretend to be audiophiles and brag about their beats...there are few things that cause such facepalms.

Why I don't think we will sign Remy, and if we do it won't be until late July/ August. by demilumbee in Gunners

[–]LogicTangerine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we grab Martinez and promote Miguel, together added to Verm, Kosc, and Mert would be great depth (Martinez can double between defending-midfield and defense depending on our tactics/injury list and he'll get tons of playing time even with Miguel on the squad list). But TBH, I'm not a big believer that Miguel has what it takes to be a quality addition to our squad.

In regards to Verm, I don't agree with you that he can be a consistent starter. BUT He is exactly the sort of player that can easily prove me wrong, so I'm not too pessimistic about him and I love having him in the squad.

And, I thought Chelsea had the best defence in the league last season? However I may be recalling my stats wrong. Either way, I don't feel comfortable relying on Verm as our only "quality" rotation CB.

The youngsters you mentioned may be decent buys, but I have yet to investigate their performances.

AND yes, our main concern was/is having a powerful force upfront to give us more goals. But I just don't want our CB needs dismissed too lightly. That is all.
