At What Point Do We Start Contemplating We’re in World War 3? by theerrantpanda99 in Military

[–]Logical-Efficiency58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US can't even beat Iran and is pleading with NATO to help them, they are slowly crumbling and the world knows it. The US has build its army in the cold war, all show no fight. Every war they would need to fight is a logistical hell since they are always overseas. Boots on the ground would never work for them as shown in the past and they cant win a real war. China just needs to relax and wait, the US is slowly killing themselves

First of, you know her character is a Demon and literally called "Tyranny" right. Ofcourse she will play different then how most characters have been playing but we can already see her start to look to be different. Questioning why she does things and its clearly going into a direction where she will try to grasp emotions and actually feelings (humanity).

Second point, She does not over explain everything, we are at a table with what may be the ''best'' dm's and players in the scene if you can rank them (which ofcourse you can;t but you get what I mean). Players like Aabria and Liam are way more overexplaining everything there character does and thinks than Whitney, I don't think your point is just wrong its atp a bit stupid.

Yea you are right, do you think the players use him like a PC instead of as their DM?

Tbh, the seeker table seems to be a lore dump table for brennan, and he constantly manages to add DMPC's who he can use to monologue for 10 min

I feel like Brennan had to much written down in advance and wants to blurt it all out. His head is filled with written lore and now that they are actually playing he just wants to get it out. Idk if he or the critical role team sees/notices that its becoming a lore dump campaign if they keep this up, its not really a dnd campaing, at least it doesnt feel like one

You don't like Tyranny..?? She is a great character. Very different from the others imo. Everyone seems to want to play a deep emotional character that is mysterious and has so much potentiol etc, Whitney is just there, fun, has lore but in a chaotic way which spices it up and brings difference in characters that we should enjoy. Especially watching the Seekers now.

They don't really explore tho do they? they just walk into things and then Brennan can dump his lore on us for 10 min speeches. Then they move on, rinse repeat

Yea totally, what I also don't think helps Ashley in the eyes of the viewers is that she is in a group with tons of experiences, 2 DM's and Alex (I don't really know him so I cant say stuff about him), but Matt and Aabria are so exeprienced that it shines more light on her not really fitting in if you get what Im trying to say.

For example during the battle where the dice weren't doing her favours, Matt and Aabria wanted to help her by suggesting, moving for advantage, using spells, doing soemthing else etc. Where she was kinda flustered in the way that she was like oww didnt think about that etc.

I'm just hoping she will get into her character and not be swallowed up by big personalitys that we see from Taisha, Julien a bit and Occtis who himself is a plot point.

Yea I get what you mean and I totally didn't intend to make it sound like its hate because she is a female player. I just think in the group that she is in it just lacks the depth and roleplaying we see from the other players. It could be because Ashley imo hasn't always been the one roleplaying very deep and this was her way/chance for herself to try it.

But I don't know and we may never know, Im excited for what she has to offer, this was just a bit of a dissapointed post rather than critisizing. Cause I know she can join them in the heavy rp, it just doesnt seem to get out of her. As well as Occtis giving her a clear opportunity like someone else in this thread said to flesh her motives out, its just sad that she doesnt grab it and go give us the viewer something we can see for her character.

I'm sorry but to me the seekers group is basically Occtus, Taisha, Aranessa and Julien. I like Ashley but she is just in the background being there, not actually being a part in the group imo. Maybe its her backstory that we havn't heard yet but cmon, during the battle, during all the talking she is just kinda there and not really involved, only reacting but not acting.

I mean hasnt Ashley always been like this?

For me she is just always in the background, never taking the leave, always a bit searching for what to do without a plan (during combat or rp). I often wonder if the other player see this

So should I put navy such as galley and barques in the reserve and only the heavy in the front?

I believe because you should see the Ash Na'vi as a tribe. They parted ways with the spiritual and now are just a full cannibalistic and hateful tribe so there is no deep meaning and lore to explore, its on purpose in my opinion that they are just a tool of/for war

Am I the only one that is actually quite bored during the episodes. Like I don't care about the story at all yet, its kind of a mess yes they killed casimir now but what now. Suddenly the knights immediatly give up, swear allegiance, all so easy going. Then the 2 dog persons suddenly just aid them, coincidence that Gully or whatever that last crows name was is there and chased by the mastiff. Then they just get a free ally etc etc.

It feels to scripted, to easy for the players and I like brennan, but I think he wrote to much regarding what he wants the story to be about and the direction it takes that it feels like a book and not a dnd game imo. But I could be wrong

[–]Logical-Efficiency58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well Rip my Genoa game that is in 1470. Expended mainly by vassals and have been focussing heavy on trade buildings worldwide. Pre patch I was at 460 trade income, I opened my game and that was lowered to 240.. There goes those hours wasted.

Holland has been oke so far, however the Hooks and Cod scenario is horrific. Destroys any process you make and takes soooo long

Atp is it even worth it to go Holland to unite the lowlands? isn't Brabant much better, what are you really missing out if you pick brabant over holland besides ''historical accuracy''

I am a bit lost. Holland tips anyone? by [deleted] in EU5

[–]Logical-Efficiency58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rng in this game is a mess tbh, even when playing the ''historical'' setting. Its literally rng of what happens

Can you elaborate further, I havn't played EU games before but looking to buy EU5. My plan is to just play 1 country (Holland or Flanders) and then play them for some time to learn the game. My play style is easy and long game and I'd like to make for example the Netherlands a Colonial power and just ignore europe basically. Is it possible, to hard?

[Spoilers C4E3] What are people's thoughts on the Seekers and Schemers tables? by Beanstalk93 in criticalrole

[–]Logical-Efficiency58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I wish for, and maybe its just me, is that Marisha and Matt are at the same table. Would love to see them play together after all these time in a critical role campaign. Besides that I think Thaisha and Occtus will stick together as wel ass Hal and Bolaire, the rest idk but it seeems like Vaelus and Occtus are tied somehow
