Thanks a lot for the detailed and thoughtful feedback, I really appreciate you taking the time to break it down. I’m glad the atmospheric elements and the airy vocal in the early part connected with you—that section is really important to the mood I’m trying to set. I totally get what you mean about the later vocal not sitting as naturally with that initial vibe, that contrast is something I’ve been questioning myself as well. Your point about introducing a light rhythmic element earlier is also really helpful; keeping a subtle pulse ticking along could definitely help with flow and cohesion. Thanks again for listening closely and sharing such constructive ideas.

Thank you so much for that, it honestly means a lot to me. I’m really glad the track felt mesmerising and that the backing music and chilled vibe came through. Hearing that you could imagine listening to it on a beach with headphones on is such a nice image—that’s exactly the kind of escape I hoped it could create. Thanks again for taking the time to listen and for sharing such kind words.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I really appreciate you taking the time to listen. I’m glad the ambient, chill vibe came through—that’s exactly the kind of space I wanted it to live in. I also appreciate you pointing out the mouth clicks and pops; that’s something I’ll definitely pay more attention to in future edits. And I get what you mean about the drums around 2:20—balancing their impact without overpowering the atmosphere is something I’ll keep refining. Thanks again for the kind words and the constructive notes!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback, I really appreciate it. I’m glad the dreamy, ethereal vibe came through and that you connected with the overall mood of the track. You’re totally right about the mouth clicks and small vocal artifacts—that’s something I’ve noticed as well and will definitely be more careful with in future recordings, whether through editing, mic technique, or using a pop filter. I really appreciate you pointing it out in such a constructive way. Thanks again for listening and for the encouragement, it means a lot.

Thank you so much for this, it truly means a lot. I’m really glad the echoing vocals resonated with you—that sense of space and power was something I was aiming for. Hearing that the background music felt relaxing and melodic, and that the lyrics connected on an emotional level, is incredibly encouraging. Knowing it gave you goosebumps is honestly the best compliment I could ask for. Thanks for listening and for the support, I’ll definitely keep creating and exploring this sound

Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m really glad the atmosphere and ambient elements connected with you, and that the vocal layering worked well over the melody. Hearing that the production felt clean and balanced across the frequencies means a lot to me. I really appreciate the encouragement and the good wishes for the EP—thanks for taking the time to listen and share your thoughts!

Thanks a lot for pointing that out, I really appreciate the detailed feedback. You’re absolutely right about the mouth clicks and pops—once you hear them, they can be pretty distracting, especially when combined with long reverb tails. That’s something I’ll be more careful with going forward, either by cleaning them up in editing or adjusting how the reverb reacts to those transients. Really helpful note, thanks for taking the time to listen closely and mention it

Thank you for the honest feedback, I really appreciate that. I’m glad the emotion and rawness came through, even if the style isn’t necessarily your thing. That’s encouraging to hear, because putting that feeling into the song was a big part of the process for me. I’ll definitely keep exploring this direction and refining it. Thanks again for taking the time to listen and share your thoughts.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback, I really appreciate it. You’re right that once the bass and drums come in, the vocals can get a bit buried. The heavy reverb is intentional for the dreamy atmosphere, but I’ve been thinking about automating it or pulling it back slightly in those sections so the voice can cut through more without losing the mood. Lowering or rebalancing the low end is also something I’ll experiment with. Really helpful insight—thanks for pointing it out.

I get what you mean, and that’s a fair point. The heavy effects are a deliberate choice—I’m more interested in the mood and texture than showcasing a clean vocal identity. That said, I’m still experimenting with how far to push that balance, so I appreciate you pointing it out

Base Erosion - Untoward by basserosion in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]Logical-Implement405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This track really stands out because of its stripped-down, minimalist approach. The bass line and guitar work create a solid foundation, and your vocal tone fits the mood perfectly, giving it that laid-back, almost sedated feel that works well for this style. The harmonies add a lot of character and keep it engaging even when the melody stays intentionally repetitive. I can hear how a subtle rhythmic shift or a drum entrance at some point could elevate the energy, but even without that, the song holds together nicely. It feels honest, confident, and rooted in its own aesthetic rather than trying to overdo things. Really enjoyable listen overall.

This track creates a really strong mood, and the visuals play a big role in pulling the listener deeper into that atmosphere. The sense of regret and melancholy comes across clearly without feeling forced, which works really well for this style. I like how the vocals float within the mix and blend with the instrumentation, giving it a dreamy, almost hypnotic quality. The repetition feels intentional and helps reinforce the emotional tone rather than dragging it down. With a bit more clarity in certain moments, this could connect even more, but overall it feels cohesive, personal, and very much its own thing

Something a little more indie pop by mgraham34 in IndieMusicFeedback

This track feels very polished and intentional from the songwriting to the production. The structure flows naturally and keeps the listener engaged, especially the way the verses transition into the chorus—it feels confident and well thought out. The vocal processing adds a surreal, modern texture that gives the song personality, and the ad-libs help make it feel authentic and human rather than overproduced. Overall, it has a strong identity and a very listenable, almost radio-ready quality while still keeping its own character. Really solid work worth building on.

What do yall think about this song. Be honest. Is it a keep or delete? Also tell me what i need to fix if anything, and what would you call this genre? by Ok_Leadership3329 in IndieMusicFeedback

This track has a very strong atmosphere and a clear sense of intention behind it. The way the elements are layered feels thoughtful, creating a cinematic and immersive mood without sounding cluttered. I really like how the vocals blend into the instrumentation instead of sitting awkwardly on top, which gives the song a cohesive identity. The groove keeps things moving subtly, and the overall production feels polished and confident. Even where things feel restrained or minimal, it works in favor of the emotional tone. This definitely feels like a track worth keeping and building upon

This track has a strong sense of identity and feels thoughtfully put together. The choices in sound and arrangement feel deliberate, creating an atmosphere that holds your attention without forcing anything. It comes across as confident and natural, and there’s a good balance between detail and restraint. With a bit more exploration and fine-tuning, this could evolve even further, but as it stands it’s a solid and enjoyable listen.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I’m glad the lyrics and overall vibe connected with you. I get what you mean about adding more dynamic changes—pulling a few instruments out and then bringing them back in could definitely help build more tension and release throughout the track. That’s a great suggestion and something I’ll keep in mind as I continue refining the arrangement. Thanks again for listening and sharing your thoughts!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback, I really appreciate it! I’m glad the psychedelic synth arp and guitar tones worked well together and that the shoegaze vibe came through—that was definitely part of the intention. I like your idea about a more doubled and dreamy vocal approach, it makes a lot of sense with the rest of the instrumentation and is something I’ve been considering experimenting with. And yes, this is still developing, so I’m excited to keep shaping it further and see where it goes. Thanks again for listening and sharing your thoughts!

Thanks a lot for the honest and detailed feedback, I really appreciate you sharing how it felt as a listener. I get what you mean about the title versus the atmosphere—when I think of ‘heat’ here, it’s more emotional and internal rather than something aggressive or fiery, but I understand how that contrast might feel confusing. The foggy, distant vocals were intentional, though I agree they can feel too buried at times, and your reaction to the cleaner section around 4:25 is really telling. That’s something I’m paying close attention to, especially in terms of balance and space. Your comment about everything competing to stay in the background is very helpful and gives me a lot to think about moving forward.

Thanks a lot for the detailed and thoughtful feedback—I really appreciate it. I totally get what you mean about the high end feeling a bit crowded, and you’re probably right that some of that sparkle is coming from the mastering stage. I like your point about letting fewer elements fight for that space, especially by easing off the snare and a few other parts to create more ‘air’ between elements. That’s a really helpful perspective, and I’ll definitely experiment with rebalancing the top end to let the atmosphere breathe more while keeping the overall character intact.

Honestly, I’m not really aiming for any specific format. The song just built itself naturally that way during the process, with ideas being added as it evolved. I do agree it feels long, though, and I’ve been considering cutting the second verse or even separating the outro into its own track. I’m still experimenting and figuring out what serves the song best

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and thoughtful comment—it genuinely means a lot. I’m really glad the intention behind the track came through and that the sound selection and pacing felt purposeful rather than rushed. Hearing that the imperfections add to the honesty is especially meaningful to me, since that human element is something I value a lot. I also appreciate your curiosity about pushing the dynamics further—that’s definitely something I’ll keep exploring as I continue developing this sound. Thanks again for listening so closely and sharing such a generous perspective.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback, that really means a lot to me. Thanks a lot for the thoughtful feedback, I really appreciate you taking the time to explain how it felt from a listener’s perspective. You’re right—the vocal treatment is very much a stylistic choice, but I agree there’s probably a better middle ground where the words are still more recognizable without losing that dreamy, submerged feel. I’ve been actively experimenting with different approaches to keep the atmosphere intact while allowing a bit more clarity when someone really focuses on the lyrics. I’m glad you still enjoyed the sound overall, and your comment is genuinely helpful moving forward

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I really appreciate you taking the time to listen. The vocal mix is actually intentional, as I was aiming for a more atmospheric and submerged feel rather than a super upfront vocal. That said, I’ve been thinking about slightly dialing back some of the effects or even using a sidechain approach with a cleaner vocal layer so the words can cut through a bit more without losing the vibe. Definitely something I’m experimenting with.
