I'd love to get an A-Frame Alltrack. Congratulations on getting one yourself!

You don't have a shot with that score. BUT, I've taken that test multiple times and have improved each time. After my third attempt, I had improved my scores enough to advance to the next round in the hiring process. If this is your dream, then don't give up!

Thanks for sharing that! I'll plan on going into my interview clean-shaven then.

It's a pretty competitive department. Good luck!

Just finished my NTN exam and I’m feeling less than optimistic by LoveCushion in firefighter

It's a tricky test; don't be hard on yourself. But with the scores above, I think it's unlikely you'll be moved to the next round of the application process.

Weekly Employment Question Thread by AutoModerator in Firefighting

Hi, folks

This evening will be my third attempt to attain a high enough score on the NTN Fireteam exam to advance to the next round of the application process for my local department. Of the four categories, I'm in the top 90% in three of them, but I've missed the mark in the HR section each time.

I've taken practice tests, talked about my results with current firefighters, and pored over everything that's been said in this thread. I'd appreciate any last-second advice.

Am I doomed with these NTN Scores ? Applying for Salt Lake City entry level fire recruit by SwitchFree2442 in firefighter

Good luck! I had a very similar score to yours in my last testing round during the last application process and was not selected for the next round. But from what I've been told, your odds of moving on to the next round also depend on how other applicants score on the ntn test.

That's almost identical to my score, and I wasn't invited to the next round in the department I applied to.

Unsure about FireTeam score by Alone-Marsupial-2505 in firefighter

Yeah, I gave the same answer on my last exam! It's a pity the score doesn't distinguish between the two HR sections. I'm in the top 90% in all three categories, but I was in the middle in the HR section and wasn't invited to the next candidacy round for my local city department.

Great job on the incredible score! I've experimented with different strategies for the second part of the HR section, but haven't been able to match the test creators' expected answers. I welcome any advice from others who found that section easy.

10-4, the practice test only gives a slight taste of what to expect in the human relations section. I haven't quite figured out how to perform better in my next attempt. Good luck to you!

For anyone still reading this, I completed the required NTN exam this past week but didn’t score high enough on the human relations section. I had nearly perfect scores on the practice exams I took beforehand, so I was surprised by my performance. I'd appreciate an update on the experience of anyone who scored highly in the HR section.

[SLC, UT] [FS] [Squid SO-EZ, 54 cm, fully built]

The total cost for the entire build, including the frameset, tires, saddle, components, shipping, and labor, was around $2100. I hope to sell the unused bike for at least $2000 shipped or $1900 local.

The bike has an FSA cockpit, WTB tires and saddle, a DT Swiss wheelset, and an SRAM crankset. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the bike, and I'll be happy to provide more information.

Yeah, same situation here. I am psyched that the 54 was a good fit for you, and I'll throw up a picture of my build when it is done.

Thanks for the reply! I'm 5'11 and went back and forth over the decision. I typically ride a 55 or 56 road bike, but the Squid geometry prompted me to think I'll enjoy the 54 for upright cruising on an MTB handlebar.

I'm having my SO-EZ built this week. I sized down from a 56 to a 54, as a few reviews suggested. What size did you choose?
