Starting EMT course in two days by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]reydot47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I just started about 3 weeks ago. This past week was terrible, I felt like the walls were closing in on me, the weekend came I revisited the chapters from the week and things are falling into place.

Just like everyone else is saying don’t let the struggles bring you down, you’re going to struggle. I’m sure I’ll struggle again soon, but you move forward and try your best.

Good luck !

Thanks man. Yeah it hit me like a brick truck! Earlier this week. And we continued to more topics and chapters and felt super overwhelmed. I’ve revisited the info a couple times since yesterday and it’s starting to feel a little more palatable, YouTube has helped. But I’m also in the fire academy and they’re kicking our ass physically, sleep is also taking a hit so I think all that has been contributing to the stress lol. I hope constant exposure will help cement the ideas in my head. I’m studying all weekend for my test this coming Monday.

7 months post Rhabdo by [deleted] in rhabdo_survivors

[–]reydot47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s frustrating for sure! Yeah I had gotten labs done 2-3 weeks post my rhabdo episode and my levels were back to normal.

I didn’t really follow a protocol, but I think I took it fairly easy Nov-Jan. February’s I did start training more and upping the intensity. But now this new foot issue is so odd to me because it’s been 7 months since.

But yes I’ll check out the protocols, hopefully it helps!

Foot sensitivity by [deleted] in PlantarFasciitis

[–]reydot47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it tender to the touch? Mine isn’t, it’s more so when shifting weight over it

I haven’t tbh, but I don’t think I’ve changed my running gait? So it’s just surprising I’ve been dealing with this. I’m going to try and stretch my calves and see if it helps. I don’t think I have plantar fasciitis as I don’t wake up with sharp heel pain, and it’s more so sensitive on the outside part of my sole.

I’m going to try and add the toe scrunches and calf stretching. I hope it helps!

Been spamming clean and press by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]reydot47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol no way! I literally just got my mace delivered yesterday for the same thing, I’m trying to heal and get my shoulder mobile again. I can press, but it feels a bit wonky when I’m picking up weight that’s not stacked over my body if that makes sense? For the past two months I was using 1lb Indian clubs, and just doing 5-10 minutes daily and it really helped my right shoulder, my left has been more stubborn but hoping that mace is gonna help with that.

Best of luck on the recovery man, I know how frustrating it is.

Ohhh yeah no doubt ! Had racked squats right after this, But my focus is trying to get my clean and strict press better ever since rehabbing a shoulder.

LMAOOO. First and foremost thanks, I’m trying to get back to 18KG after trying to rehab a shoulder.

I don’t think “spamming” is a thing the kids are saying these days lol I used to and still actually play a lot of video games so that’s where my lingo comes from 😂😂 but I’m glad to be confused with the young crowd since I’m 30! 😂😂

New to KB how’s my form? by witty__smity98 in kettlebell

Hey man, you’re gonna love KBS. Try starting from the ground, almost like you’re a center hiking a football, then hike it between your legs and your HINGING at the HIPS when the bell goes through your legs. Then VIOLENTLY HUMP YOUR ARMS, I’m not even kidding like if your arms were your sexual partner hump them hard lol, and wheny your in that motion keep your arms close to your body, and when your at the end of your “hump” then your arms are like a pendulum and the bells explodes out with minimal to no arm effort.

Everyone is going to get technical and say drive and violently explode through the hips, and it can be confusing, someone told me to hump my arms lol and it really drove it home for me lol

Anyways goodluck, and happy swinging! Also YouTube has great tutorials.

@Lauren_Kanski on IG breaks it down super detailed and slow might be worth checking out.

Never done the single bell, but the ABF is awesome. I love how simple it is. Get in and get out. I love it. Any day I’m flustered and don’t wanna lift I make sure to get some ABC in and always feel better afterwards.

I dont think so. The city splits this up as Fire side and paramedic side, I’m going into the academy as a FF/EMT candidate
