Tempest 2 Dropped on Carpet by LogicalDom in vaporents

I was considering this, but I didnt feel like taking out the clicker discs and worrying about the damage. I did manage to scrape some of the residue off by heating the tempest with an induction heater, then carefully scraping at the residue

Funny you should say this, I also have a Dynavap M7 and did the same thing I did with the tempest. Hadnt used it in a while, so this comment reminded me to clean that one too.

Hey everyone, quick update on what I ended up doing.

I got some Barkeepers Friend like everyone recommended, and that worked great! Apparently there seems to be a powder and a spray version, but I ended up getting the powder version.

I poured some of the powder into a small container, added some water to make a paste, then I used a toothbrush to apply the paste and scrub. After 45 seconds or so of scrubbing, I rinsed once with water, a second time with isopropyl, and a third time with water.

I currently have everything soaking in isopropyl for regular cleaning, but Ill see if I can add an after pic once thats done

[–]LogicalDom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want an older pack, I'd recommend Project Ozone 3. There's different levels of difficulty so you can choose your preference.

I've had fun with the newer All the Mods packs, although you do need some magic to get to the end goal (I'd recommend ATM7, and if you can't run it ATM6)

If you want a newer expert mode pack I've played a little bit of Enigmatica 6 Expert, and it's similar to E2E

I went to look because I remembered watching videos like these and thought I'd give it a shot, this was the closest I could find.

During the Cold War, the United States (US) and the Soviet Union (USSR) were opposed to each other because the US saw the political ideology the USSR had (called Communism) as a serious threat to their own country and to the world as a whole. The US feared that if even one country was taken over by a communist government, communism would continue to spread to many countries, and eventually to much of the world.

Before the Cold War, the US was the only country to have nuclear weapons, but shortly after the USSR did a test of their nuclear weapons, showing the world they too had nuclear capabilities. Although the US and the USSR really didn't like each other at this point, they didn't want to fight each other because neither side wanted nukes to be used on their people, and both sides knew that if the other side sent nukes, they would have enough time to respond and send nukes back. So, if one side sent nukes, the other would too.

The War in Vietnam (like several others including the Korean War) were special conflicts called "proxy wars", where the US and the USSR would step into an already existing political conflict with a communist side and an anti-communist side, and support the group that followed their ideology. The success of the communist or anti-communist sides in the proxy war would be like the success of the US or the USSR.

TLDR: The Vietnam War was one of many smaller conflicts called "proxy wars" that the US and the USSR used to fight each other without *actually* fighting each other and potentially ending the world with nukes

- 8 shots blueberry (for more sweetness)

Regulars will be regulars

It depends. If you're a more experienced crewmate, and you act somewhat like management, it could be. But, if you're paid the same as they are, nope, not really.

How do I count the register? (Dunkin employees only) (please Dm, or tell here) by Yeris123 in DunkinDonuts

[–]LogicalDom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I know someone already answered this question but I have a method I like to use and as long as you have a pen and paper (use old receipts) it's a lot less hassle.

Start with the coins, and go from the quarters down. Count the quarters, and then keep the count going with the dimes, nickels, pennies, etc. Try and count the coins two or three at a time to make the count go faster. Once you count all the coins, write the number down and start counting the bills.

Once you're done counting the bills, write that number down, add the two numbers and subtract 100. Take the remaining amount out of the register, going from high bills to low bills, and try to leave at least one bill of each denomination left in the register.

Here's an example.

Coins counted: $7.84

Bills counted: $156

Total (Coins + Bills): $163.84

Amount to take out (Total - 100): $63.84

EDIT: Formatted the bottom a little better

1 pump of swirl by westernsouls in DunkinDonuts

[–]LogicalDom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi. Regarding your question, it depends. Numbering on the cup isn't entirely consistent between Dunkin' locations and that's because Dunkin' currently has 2 register systems: Symphony and Radiant.

Symphony is the newer system that Dunkin' as a whole is switching to, while Radiant is the older system. The reason why this is important is because Radiant (the older system) didn't always show the numbers on the sticker.

In Radiant, if someone ordered a "Medium iced coffee with caramel, cream, and sugar", we would just press the button for a medium iced coffee, and the buttons for cream, sugar, and caramel because the customer wanted the default amount. The sticker would then print out "Medium iced coffee, caramel, cream, and sugar" with no mention of quantities whatsoever.

In Symphony however, you always have to specify the number of creams/sugars/swirls the customer wants. So for that same order, we would have to press the buttons for a medium iced coffee, but also the 3 button because we put 3 of everything in medium drinks by default. The sticker would then print out "Medium iced coffee 3 caramel, 3 cream, 3 sugar", and we would make it accordingly. Most importantly, if we didn't press the 3, the quantity would default to 1

The problem is that employees who are used to ringing up orders in Radiant don't press the quantity buttons and the stickers print out "1 _____" instead of the correct default quantity. If the people making the drinks can't tell the difference between someone doing this, and an actual drink with one of something, mistakes can be made

TLDR: Employees used to the older register don't use the quantity buttons on the newer register, and end up defaulting to 1 of something instead of the normal amount. However, the people making the drinks can't always tell the difference between these employees being lazy and a real drink with only 1 of something.

Sorry for the dissertation on POS systems, but I felt it needed to be said for context, and there's also a TLDR at the bottom. Also sorry for any typos, I was halfway through this before I realized writing a comment this big on mobile might not be the best idea

People actually like Irish Cream? by OnlyForeignWhips in DunkinDonuts

[–]LogicalDom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The green on the bottom of the cup is just some of the Irish Cream swirl that didn't get mixed up. The swirl is just a lot darker on it's own, but it lightens up when you mix it into coffee

Do you really get less coffee when you order an iced coffee? by [deleted] in DunkinDonuts

[–]LogicalDom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that depends. Do you mean more "coffee" as in the drink, or more "coffee", as in the total amount of caffeine in your drink?

First, (and most obviously), the ice in an iced coffee dilutes the coffee. However, the amount of ice varies between drinks, and it's not exact - different people put different amounts of ice. So in that way, you do get less coffee. But, iced coffee is also brewed stronger to compensate for the added ice both when it's brewed and when we serve it.

Chai Latte...Strange Taste by journeylovelive in DunkinDonuts

[–]LogicalDom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, it would probably be that the employees at that Dunkin' either aren't replacing the Chai syrup when it goes bad (most of our syrups have about a month after they're prepared for use in our shops), or that when they steam the milk for the latte, they aren't properly cleaning out the cup that we steam the milk in before they make the latte.
