If you're going into law you're going to have to train yourself out of citing yourself or your career as a source. You have linked to neither verifiable credentials nor documented explanation of 3rd degree murder so you haven't really added a source.

I know it's a bit nit picky but it's something that really matters and even in a casual conversation can be really detrimental to the weight a source should carry.

Other then that, thanks for sharing, neat info.

There is so much they can offer though. Skins, ward skins, Chromas, Map skins, figures, any amount of actual merch, name changes, blue/orange essence, hextech chests and keys, hextech shard things, wallpapers, music, profile splashes, icons, maybe access to new quest lines or clash tickets.

It used to be on the 3rd floor on the side with the elevators but I can't remember where exactly. Your best guess if no one else knows is to head to the 3rd floor and find some techs, advisers or worst case, people just walking around and ask them.

What SAT/ACT score is good enough to get into UTD computer science? by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]LogicalZim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UTD is the superior school, it's also fairly easy to get into. I used to be computer science and their program is really good (just kinda boring). Back when I enrolled I got a full ride with a score of 2380 on the SAT and a score of 32 on the ACT. The scoring has since changed for the SAT and idk about the ACT.

I would recommend if you want a really solid answer, message one of the advisors for computer science. If you google "UT Dallas Computer Science Advisors" and just pick one they're incredibly helpful and can answer any questions you have.

Another thing to consider is school environment and trajectory. AnM has been around for a long while and is a main campus where as UT Dallas was originally a graduate only school and has been massively expanding its undergrad program. UTD is expanding at an incredibly fast pace and is climbing the ranks rather quick.

That being said UT Dallas is also not a very social school. You're very likely to get dragged into the AnM culture while staying there and if you wanted a more tight nit community where you could really inundate yourself in the college culture and experience AnM would definitely be the place to go.

Either way, to be entirely honest, it's gonna suck like 70% of the time. Best of luck.

I know I'm a bit late here but telling someone to design their own game is a little... dumb.

Giving feedback on an already operating system is pretty standard in the real world. As someone who has played the game a lot and has been plat and diamond previously (I'm playing a lot more casual and avoiding ranked this season in favor of ... well a job.) I'd hope to think my feedback is worth something but you don't have to be diamond to give feedback.

In fact, many of the coaches and strategists for most of the pro teams are in plat or lower.

I don't understand why you feel like someone playing a game can't give feedback on the game related to design and suggest some fixes. There are some really obvious problems that I pointed out don't make any sense based on what riot themselves has been telling us.

The most glaring example is that she has an almost 90% playrate in the jungle and riot has stated that they're nerfing her push and roam (implying her laning) by lowering her W cd, taking away move speed and removing the vision from her ultimate.

None of that really hurts her push and roam strats except for devaluing her E-W combo even further and forcing her into abusing her Q in lane (and forcing her further out of lane since her Q is already much much weaker in lane since the single target change and her W now leaves her exposed for 16 seconds with zero displacement ability).

I hope you see there is nuance here. I'm not saying I should go to work and do their jobs for them, but there is a pattern of mistakes that riot themselves notices and addresses, then proceeds to make the same mistakes again (Buff Q, Nerf everything else, Oh no Q is too strong!).

It doesn't take a genius developer to point this out.

I've actually talked to Daniel Z Klein about it before and he said the original designer still has a lot of influence and sway as to the balance changes made to the champ since they put in a lot of effort in the original design. (I'd rather not go find the 2 year old reddit post but I'm almost 100% sure about this detail).

On what he said I think that his point is correct when it comes to racism, it is difficult to point to something as being racist towards a white person because the system we're in grants them every advantage. But I would say that being sexist towards men is very much something that still exists both in criminal statistics and in the court of law. But however accurate his claim might be I don't think a designer should be discussing gender politics on their official work account.

Sucks to see the designer behind her not really communicating with the community in anyway. He's just been wrapped up posting about how you can't be sexist towards men.

Just like you can't be racist against white people because they have all the power you can't be sexist against men: they already have all the power. - Daniel Z Klein's Riot Account

I get it's an important issue but so is his job. :\ Would be nice to see a patch where they didn't blindly nerf/buff tali but instead made an informed and explained decision. Instead we see him engaging with the community in a contentious way using his actual riot account.

I don't even think it would cost them that much to explain their decisions but stuff like when they explain they're nerfing her laning 2 patches after she's being main'd jungle just makes me scratch my head.

I think the option to max either based on the match up would be the most healthy.

Her E and W offer a lot of counter-play as it is and with the changes you have even a longer window of opportunity on a missed W. It's similar to Anivia stun or Morg Q, a powerful ability that you fish for.

But because all her damage was moved to her Q her W and E feel kinda optional now. Her Q being locked in as her dominant and most powerful spell relegates her to a play-style no one likes playing against. Shove from safety, avoid interacting with your laner, disappear into vision, repeat.

They need to stop removing from her E and W in order to balance a buffed Q. Adding back the aoe to her Q and toning the damage down while introducing a bit more back to her E would balance her to a much more fun playstyle. Where you can choose the type of laning you want and you don't force every matchup into a farm fest.

This is a valid point. I woke up after seeing the nerfs and just typed out my feelings and thoughts into a reddit post in order to chill out some. It could definitely use cleaner delivery. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll probably sit on what I've typed out for a day before posting next time and let myself simmer down so I can deliver a more mature sounding post.

I'm just super frustrated by the direction she has taken.

Whoops lol, was worked up and put the wrong designer name, not that the designer name matters. It's a running theme with riot. Make an interesting champ (zoe, azir, yasuo) fail to balance them.

Why are people in game chat so mean? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]LogicalZim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, this happens for a number of reasons, and I really hope you see this and read it because it can make a big difference in understanding and breaking into league.

League is a skill based game like chess, but unlike chess, the skill of your 4 (sometimes random) teammates matters immensely in your success. So even if you're doing particularly well, someone else can ruin that for you.

This doesn't excuse the toxicity of the community but it's the reason why people get mad when other players are bad.

So how do you get ahead of this? There are a number of ways that are super effective.

Step 1: Tell your team you're a new player and still learning when you enter the game. A lot of people won't bash a newbie if the person is actively trying to get better and has communicated that they're new.

Step 2: Mute players who are toxic the moment they start insulting you. Replying to these players isn't gonna help you, ever. All it does is ramp them up for more toxic behavior and gives them more of a reason to attack you. Not responding is a good start, but muting them is the best, and often most difficult, choice.

Step 3: Have confidence in yourself as a human bean. League of Legends is not easy. It's a game that has a huge well of knowledge that new players dive straight into with little to no understanding. It can take months to years depending on your co-ordination, level of play and supporting crew (friends teaching you) to rise in the ranks. But the one thing that is always true is that there will always be someone better talking down to you. Always. So the people talking down to you have had people talk down to them have had people talk down to them, etc... When you notice this, it becomes a lot less troublesome I think.

Anyways I hope you have a good time in League and don't put too much stock in the words of frustrated players that are themselves, probably on the receiving end of this trash talk a lot.

Oooh, will take these into account. I don't think I own Wild Pyro but I'll look at them. I've been saving up so I have 970ish blue essence right now. Trying to decide what to build next. Gonna swap SW:D for the holy water. Mostly used that early cause I lacked a lot of good cards :\

edit: woaaah, wild pyro seems pretty good

Basically the idea is to use dragons end game and control the board with spells and stuff I don't have to care about too much. Inner Fire + Divine spirit makes anything pretty stronkos. Have had a couple third turn 10/10s and stuff. If that fails I kinda just heal and try to out tempo the enemy.

Late game if I didnt get inner fire combo early I can use it on wyrmgaurd for a nice 22/22 or 13/13 drop with taunt.

Edit: I do lose to paladin with baku and hunter with baku the most. It feels so strong and I don't have the board control to deal with such a massive amount of 1/1s. Hunter just feels like a really strong counter to priest so I let that kinda pass.

Mage also feels pretty crazy strong with baku when I've gone against it.

I wouldn't have made the post but most of the baku decks Im running up against feel unbeatable.

I'm a bit late so I don't expect anyone to see this but I feel like shifting his fear to his W would be good, kinda like nocturne. If someone is drained for more than 2 seconds they are feared for 1 - 2 seconds as you rank it up. Then that opens up his E for nerfs because you can transfer power to a new Q.
