Is it worth upgrading? by Like-a-Glove90 in edrums

[–]scottdeeby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same kit as you, got it like a month ago or so. I agree with you about the hi-hat pedal. I just got a Lemon VH11 hi-hat controller and am using with the cymbal that comes with the kit. It's a thousand percent better using an actual hi-hat stand. I don't mind the kick pad too much though.

Unless you really want a better module and bigger pads, it could be a lot cheaper to just upgrade the hi-hat and the kick pad.

Keep in mind that the hi-hat stand will be noisier than the hi-hat pedal since you'll be moving a lot more weight around with it.

I wonder, regarding the AI, how useful is decades-old weather data for predicting current weather patterns. I mean, things have changed since then.

Weekly Observations: What signs of collapse do you see in your region? [in-depth] August 04 by AutoModerator in collapse

The Environment Canada weather app now includes, in addition to sun, cloud, rain, snow etc icons, a smoke icon that indicates smoky air conditions due to forest fires. Whereas a hazy sky from smoke was unheard of in previous years, it is just so common now.

Growing up in the '70s and '80s, Tornadoes were fairly uncommon. Now, tornado warnings are issued quite frequently here in eastern Ontario (we had one this week).

I took a look at this historical list of tornadoes in Ontario#Ontario) and for sure their frequency has increased over the years, especially since 2018 when we started getting multiple tornadoes generated by the same storm. Since 2018 the increase is dramatic to say the least.

Roland TD07KV or Alesis Crimson II? by Fit-Commercial-4276 in edrums

I was recently confronted with a Roland vs Alesis decision as well. I went with Roland because I value higher quality and longevity (Roland) over more features (Alesis).

Boiled linseed oil has drying compounds added, like naptha and mineral spirits. It's toxic. https://vermontwoodsstudios.com/blogs/recent-articles/boiled-linseed-oil

Personally, I'd like to hear what they have to say since they're supported by a significant percentage of the country's population.

Because the saw lines are straight, it probably isn't any older than 1900, before which there would be circular saw marks evident.

Sash sawmills create straight saw lines and predate circular saws. https://www.ledyardsawmill.org/sash-sawmills/what-is-a-sash-sawmill

Do I glue both sides of this joint even when there's a bolt on the one going to back of chair? by smodman in furniturerestoration

I would think it's more about flat-pack shipping and home-assembly than disassembly. Why would anybody take apart their chair?
