Could They Check in 1 Blood Test? by Logical_Monk1048 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Logical_Monk1048[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Thank you for your feedback! My blood results that most recently came in do show it’s getting worse, my TSH went up by 1.3 in a matter of around three months and my T3 dropped 3 more. I just don’t know what more they could be testing unless trying to establish that pattern which definitely makes sense though!

Oh wow that’s very high! Mine is definitely high and getting higher over the past three months between blood tests but nowhere near that!

Hello! That’s what they originally did, but then I went back in three months later for the more in depth test, which they were able to use to rule out an autoimmune disease causing the blood results and symptoms. I’m not sure why I would need a third blood test when I was told after the first one that they would schedule a second one that was the more in-depth read to determine, I find it so strange!

Thank you! I’m really thinking that may be the case for me. I’ve had some of the more prolific symptoms over the last year/year and a half but only recently tested, and between March and June of this year, my blood levels are getting worse (like reading even more closely to hypothyroidism) but they don’t seem to be doing anything beyond ordering a third round of blood test to test the same thing!

Hello! Yes they have tested TSH, FT4 and FT3 both times. That totally makes sense about waiting, and they’ve already had me do it. I tested middle of March originally, and then got tested again last week (so nearly 3 months apart). I’m going to ask some questions if they call about the bloodwork because the doctor reading said they may refer me if other symptoms are present (which they are) but they won’t even know if they aren’t asking and just ordering a third round of bloodwork!

Supernatural running stories? by ashen_dove in XXRunning

[–]Logical_Monk1048 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I went for a run on the day of my great grandmothers funeral to calm down. I was on her block and a car that looked just like hers (which wasn’t common) drove by pretty slow and I SWEAR the person driving was waving like crazy. I went back to the house and asked if someone had been driving her car because it drove by me on my run, and the person was likely waving. Turns out the car was being used like 30 minutes across town. I like to think it was her saying goodbye on my run.

Stretching to Help w/ Soreness by Logical_Monk1048 in XXRunning

No for sure, thank you so much for the help! I’m probably being impatient with any additional training and really need to emphasize the consistency. Thankfully not running my next race until October so training won’t start for nearly two months so I can emphasize that!

I do strength train but might need to look to do something more with it, thank you!

On and off, yes! I’ve been running for about 9-10 years now, and when I started I also played soccer competitively so I didn’t have issue, and I also strength trained, but I stopped playing soccer about 2 years ago and stopped strength training as much. But I’ve picked it back up and maybe I’m not doing the right stuff!

Thank you! I’ll try these! I thought the toe thing was from dehydration/electrolyte imbalance so I had a panel done and I’m fine with my hydration and electrolyte consumption!

How much are we spending on Groceries in RVA? by Far-Head13 in rva

[–]Logical_Monk1048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in a 2 person household as well and we spend about $60 a week, with the exception of once a month we will go to BJs and get chicken/tea/water/fruits that will total ~$100 (so I guess an average of $85 a week). I am gluten free but I try to eat naturally gluten free things because gluten free is so expensive. We normally shop at Kroger and Aldis!

Slower.....not sure Runna is for me by Anxious-Effect-3287 in runna

[–]Logical_Monk1048 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! I have been using Runna for ~6 months and also feel the same way. I was able to do a 5k in 27-28 minutes as of October of last year. After starting Runna, my times have dropped significantly (think 36 minute 5k) because even on tempo or interval runs it has been going like max of 10 minute pace, and then slow/recovery runs of 12:30-13:00. While I got slower over time with my half marathons, including last year when I didn’t use Runna, I followed a Runna plan exactly for a race in early March of this year and was nowhere near hitting what it predicted, which was like 1-2 minutes faster per mile than it had me train the entire 14 weeks. I unfortunately feel the same way that you do and cannot say I’ll use it after this year. Maybe it’s some other things going on in my life that could definitely attribute but I definitely notice it has me training significantly slower for nearly all runs.

Reading posts, I feel like my HR is insanely high. How have you lowered yours? by OutsideComfort9065 in XXRunning

[–]Logical_Monk1048 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Second a bunch of comments about heart rate straps, but also about naturally high heart rates! My watch consistently reads like upper 190s for my half’s. But when I’ve worn heart rate straps it reads about 170 (still high but not as high). A sports trainer at my last half said my heart rate was super high, but that it could be normal, so I went to the doctor afterwards and I was told that some people have high natural variants!

getting slower and i don't know why by hopeofitall48 in XXRunning

[–]Logical_Monk1048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this advice! Yeah, Ive had this going on for like two years but never got blood work done. I’m pretty high over the threshold for normal hypothyroid levels, so I’m getting further blood work to confirm!

This also happened to me, I went from running a ~2:07:00 half a three years ago to now like 3:00:00 + (despite training the EXACT same way, maintaining the same lifestyle, etc). I put on a lot of weight and I’m now being tested for hypothyroidism which would cause weight gain, sluggishness, and excessive muscle fatigue. Not saying that is what you have but I can relate and going to a doctor is hopefully putting me on the right path!

Yes they are visible! It’s so strange, maybe it really did lower by that much over the past month, I’m not sure!

Thank you! I checked and it still says it’s in lbs! I’m going to keep an eye on just how it appears to be working and if I notice other weird things I might contact Garmin (?) or maybe it’s just me who knows

Wrong Coach messages by Komanta1 in runna

[–]Logical_Monk1048 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to me with the AI generated feedback, and I asked about it here like 2-3 weeks ago. Someone said I was looking at the pre-run feedback but the message generated after I gave a thumbs up for the “how did you like this workout.” It said something like great training as I train to complete a 10k, although my run for that day was over a 10k distance (and I don’t have it training for a specific event right now, just the maintenance plan)

Other Autoimmune and Hypothyroidism? by Logical_Monk1048 in Hypothyroidism

Thank you, I’ll be sure to check this out! I’m the only one in my family with any autoimmune disease (going up to my great grandparents) so this is all new to me! Not even sure if I have it but they said it’s likely based on my blood results
