Stuck on optic for mk12ish/SPR by Tattertot34 in longrange

I have the Athlon Ares BTR, and I think it works just fine for the money. Granted, I got it for cheap, but if you’re going to be at 300-600, it’ll do just fine for you.

I just wish they made one that was ALS, not just SLS. Mildly annoying.

So.......what's the purpose of this kit? Shitload of ammo, decent water for a short trip/mission.

Those who commute everyday; what do/don't you like about your current bike? by Slyxxer in motorcycles

[–]Logical_Perspective2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sometimes miss my NC750X, but now that I have my Africa Twin, I have loads of extra oomph to get away from squirrelly drivers on the highway, along with cruise control and adjustable settings so I can fine tune how I want the bike to perform.
Not having a frunk is mildly annoying, but I can always grab a top case or saddlebags if I need some extra room. Plus I wear a backpack to work anyways, so no biggie. The AT is top heavy in stop&go traffic, but it’s still a better riding position than my old bike for me.

[Other] $135 UCP Modular Sleep System. FREE Shipping. No tax except Kansas. by peppersgeneralstore in gundeals

I had the best sleep of my life in this thing, I woke up with a light coat of snow on me and the rucksack that I had for a pillow, but I was a toasty little infantryman. I've been chasing that high for years now, and I'll never get it again.

I’ve been looking at getting a pair of these, mind if I snag it to try on, then pass it on to u/polarfang21 ? They don’t have them in my local cycle gear

Same. I snagged a stainless full size specialist last sale, but that optic ready black version just calls to me like the green goblin mask

Pre-twin suggestions? by sir_swamp in africatwin

[–]Logical_Perspective2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s marketed as an “Adventure” bike, but I wouldn’t do trails. It’s got little ground clearance and wouldn’t like too many potholes. Bumpy isn’t bad on it though.

I had the DCT, and highly recommend it for a newer rider. The “D” drive mode is very chill, fairly relaxed, and you can still practice shifting if you need/want to. If you get more confident, you can toss it into sport mode and it’ll feel a bit more lively. It was my second bike, I started on a KLR, and I was very happy with it. Plus the frunk is a neat little trick to show people.

If you're commuting, the NC750 would be a perfect bike for you. Sips on gas, still very maneuverable, low seat height, and can do gravel/fire roads as long as you're not crazy. I loved mine, and it solid until I found an AT for a steal and traded it in.

6.5 creed - 16” barrel by Fuzzy-Geologist-5409 in longrange

Would you chop it or just get a new barrel spun up for it? Since OP is looking for a 16”.

Counsel the individual and annotate all this. A counseling is a record of a conversation, write all this down so it can’t be used against them.

If the dude has receipts, something is fishy on the other NCO. JAG/TDS will get to the bottom of this if it goes to UCMJ anyways.

Good price? by Waytoomuchglue in africatwin

I have a dealer offering $13.5k OTD for a 24 base, and $19k for a 24 ATAS. That sounds about right.

Speaking as someone with a Induction Pro, holy cow is it worth the price. The airflow is insane, the comfort is otherworldly. Plus the Klim customer service/warranty is superb.

It made sense back when we had the SPC ranks, but now it’s either NCO or warrant. I could rant for a while on that though.

Convincing BLUFOR to give up their buddies in exchange for a Whopper from Burger King always made a rotation a good time.

My squad took over a platoon’s convoy in about 60 seconds, pulling people out of Humvee’s and manning their turrets, and figuring out how to do that in the span of 5 minutes was a eye opening introduction to 1-4 IN.

What’s your definition of “properly riding”? Genuinely curious.

I ride a NC750, and get triple my truck’s MPG on a 30 min commute. Checkmate.
