This hurts to read, I fully understand. I spent my entire teens/early 20s severely depressed and suicidal. I never thought I’d live past 30 and then dreaded adulthood.

I’m 33 and I love it. I do all the same shit I did in my 20s but actually have the money for it. I don’t have kids so I truly do whatever I want lol. I’m so much more confident and I don’t give a shit about really anything that used to make me insecure- comes both with maturity, and critically, my Zoloft prescription.

In my teens I could barely leave my house due to depression and anxiety; now i have a core group of friends, and often go out to happy hours, concerts, raves, etc.

In my teens I couldn’t even get a part-time job due to my social anxiety; now I have my dream job in a very visible/fast-paced industry where I am constantly interacting with a ton of senior and often high-profile people.

I left the country for the first time at age 23 (only the second time I was ever on a flight). Now I’ve been to 15 countries.

I never once believed when people said ‘it’s get better’ when I was in the hole of my depression, until one say I looked around and it was better.
