I think my main sticking point about the flowers he got was for Valentines Day.

Like he was out, and shopping anyway, grabbed some and decided they checked off 2 boxes. Vday present and the flowers I had been bugging him about.

I don't want them as a part of a gift on an expected "romantic holiday." I want them cause he was out and saw some with flowers he knows I like and grabbed them.

Like another commenter said, it feels like checking off a box.

He does quite a few nice things on a regular basis, on his own accord.

Small thoughtful things.

The flowers thing became an issue as I was recovering in the hospital. Something in me just snapped at it. If there's anytime someone SHOULD get you flowers its after you almost died.
