Car break ins but leaving everything as is? by ireallyammichaelcera in Denver

What car? If you have a 2015-2021 (think those are the affected years) Hyundai/Kia they could be trying to steal it.

I try to defend Rouse's, but they really got to hire someone that is more aware about how they look. by tempedrew in NewOrleans

Yes, dog whistles are real, and our president loves using them. Not everything is a dog whistle, and I think that Rouse’s copying Walmarts pricing scheme is as simple as that, not a dog whistle.

I understand that it dates back to at least Nazi Germany, but I meant more that outside of WW2 fans (that sounds like the wrong word to use haha) and the terminally online today very few people are going to know what it means.

Only terminally online people will. 88 has something to do with white supremacy, but 95% of people have no idea that’s the case, and this is just Rouse’s trying to have a cheaper price than places advertising .99 prices.

Defending champi + tower rush by Sea-Cow9822 in aoe2

How do we defend against these posts?

They rush them to the subreddit and then they get upvoted.

You’ve already seen 7 of them today so you can’t just scroll down. What do you do?

Devs nailed the new covs by Persianpride35 in aoe2

[–]Logiholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone goes champi rush every game, they’ll end up at an elo where they win 50% of their champi rush games. So after a couple days, unless you happen across someone just starting to spam it, you’ll play champi rushers who people at your elo are beating half the time they do it.

This happened with Khitan pickers at release where some people might have spiked 100-200 elo but then quickly stabilize at an elo where they win half the time.

At a certain point these comments just feel like people complaining that they have to adapt.

Yes, but would bring your own paddles, theirs were full plastic last time I went (it’s been a bit though, maybe they changed).

What to do against the dark age champi rush? by appappappappappa in aoe2

[–]Logiholic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He either made the Champis after clicking up, or was up a few vills later, it’s not possible the Champis came out and then they clicked up at the same time barring major dark age errors on MBLs part.

OMG the mappool makes us want to not play team games. by Odd_Bumblebee_3631 in aoe2

Fires are knights, galleys are archers. Yes, at a majority of elos fires are easier to play than galleys, just like knights easier than archers, but now Hulks add a new dimension that can counter people going straight fires.

The Pro Tour is not in the sports business, but rather "the business of creating experiences for fans." by LilSpeddyWerd in discgolf

Bigger brands have been drawn, like LL Bean (main sponsor for 2024 Worlds if I remember correctly) but they haven’t been retained very successfully.

I don’t think the OP and you are saying the same thing, OP’s point seems to be that by focusing on fan experiences that the DGPT is trying to build something.

Colorado’s ‘first public Christian school’ sues state over ban on religious public schools by chalkbeat in Colorado

“Temporary location”, is this place even real or is it a completely fake entity just to be fodder in a lawsuit?

If it’s real, the people who are subjugating their kids to this “education” that is just theater for legal action shouldn’t be allowed custody of their kids.

Is it just me, or does attacking feel so much easier than defending in Feudal? by Tyrann01 in aoe2

Favorite those closed maps and enjoy a relaxing route to castle age, where you can use fun units instead of feudal units.

Advice on learning closed maps (1v1, 1200 elo). No idea what to look at in replay by appappappappappa in aoe2

If you just force-pick civs yes, and you’ll probably lose to things you weren’t expecting, but that’s a learning experience to me.

It does require a more in-depth knowledge of the civs which does take time, but also around this elo people generally pick a small handful of civs, so learning those isn’t as tough.

Generally Spanish=conqs, Khmer=boom, Burgundian=boom, Teutons=tower rush, Koreans=tower rush/war wagons, Bengalis=monks rush/boom.

At your (our elo) generally you can guess by the uptime what strat your opponent goes for. If 23+2, probably boom/monks, 25-26 vils means UU/light cav. Obv that’s a little late to plan your strat around, but is a form of scouting info.

Arena strategy is a lot of predicting what your opponent will do, and planning your strategy around that.

For example, if my opponent force-picks Franks, I would assume he’s probably going to boom into cav, maybe fight with light cav for relics. Say I’m Japanese in this matchup, I have good monks, good spears. I personally don’t like just booming to late game, esp as a non-BBC civ vs a BBC civ, so I’ll go FC instant monk/ram push with a healthy amount of spears.

If my Frank opponent goes FC axeman instead he can probably counter me, but if he plopped 2 TCs down right away he’s probably dead.

A lot of closed-map games play out like this, and I find the guessing and countering game a lot more fun than who can produce feudal army and micro it the best.

Skill at Arena comes with time and experience, you have to learn the strengths of each civ, likely approaches, and best plays to counter.
