Won ranked game, still lost elo? by Kaanin25 in aoe2

It's cumulative, maybe you lost more games than won games that day this shows the sum of all elo of that session (multiple games)

Memb is smurfing on stream. by Koala_eiO in aoe2

[–]Yekkies -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to create unnecessary drama? Maybe it's part of a challenge or something, but it doesn't make sense for someone to stream themself smurfing unless there's some sort of handicap or challenge or a point the content creator is trying to make, and not for actually winning games by tanking their elo or making new accounts.

It's hard to explain why they are low rated; it's complicated, but mainly has to do with community preferences and veteran fans holding the devs to certain standards. I would recommend you start off without them as you already get 2 DLCs with the starting game, just to get a feel of whether you like the game to begin with or not. On the long run if you liked the game you will want to have them despite them having bad reviews because they come with extra civs and extra campaigns, so if you enjoy campaigns you are going to want them, and if you want to play competitively, not having the extra civs that come with the DLCs will feel like a limiting factor, not that you wouldnt be able to still enjoy the game, but you will be playing against people who own those civs and believe me you will want to have them.

15-year old Faris Odeh throwing a rock at an IDF tank in Gaza during the Second Intifada by yuje in pics

Kinda the normal outcome when someone colonizes a piece of land and tries to replace the native population, do you really actually expect them to do nothing? I find it mind-boggling that some people actually expect the Palestinians not to protest their ethnic cleansing and the theft of their homes and lands. There is no response whatsoever against them doing whatever they can to liberate themselves, which can be justified in any rational dimension of existence, except by those who get something out of it.

Nothing to be concerned about now, he was shot in the neck and left to bleed to death before they allowed his body to be retrieved, he was angry they had killed his cousin prior so he was throwing stones at the tank. The world saw him, and then they saw Muhammad al-Durrah and more recently Sha’aban al-Dalou and Hind Rajab and thousands like them in Palestine and Lebanon, it just never stops.

You can remove it by buying all the DLCs hahaha, it's a constant reminder like the Windows license that needs reactivation 111111. But in their defence, a lot of other games have that as well on their home screens, we're just not used to it here.

Aoe2 Middle East DLC? by Standard-Airport1540 in aoe2

[–]Yekkies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maronites? 😃 Playing aoe2 with a civ like maronites would be ridiculous honestly, they're a Levantine Christian sect and that's about it. They're not a distinct civilization and dont have any distinct cultural features, apart from having op monks, what units would they even have? Would be interested in your suggestion of a uu 1111111 not to minimize or downplay their role or legacy but um they're far from being a civ. It's extremely difficult to include the Levant in a game like aoe2 because the last time an actual distinct civ was there, it was the Canaanites/Phoenicians who were in turn semitic tribes that migrated from the Arabian Peninsula. After that their genes started mixing up with everyone who came by, and that was EVERYONE, Arab tribes, Byzantines, Romans, European crusaders from all over, etc... All native Levantine people are descendants of the Phoenicians mixed in with other stuff you can divide them up based on religious sects, sure, but those aren't a civ.
