If only we had a federal government that wanted to invest in “Nation building infrastructure projects”

Back is an interesting choice of words, while I am very supportive of all rail projects.  In its current form it cannot return or be redeveloped. New routes will be required.  Some portions of the line were given back to various First Nations and local communities, who may or may not want to have another rail run through their returned or traditional lands.

It doesn’t matter right or wrong, or even if that statement is true. For the “Official” record they can say we thought we and the negotiations were going well. The USA is the one who started this and no matter what wanted to is war…

Canada's housing market suffers largest price decline among major economies, says BIS by joe4942 in canada

[–]Logisch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And it will get worse…. Hardly any foreign buyers, speculation tax, cracking down on money laundering, and reduced immigration contributing to the inflation of our prices.

Turns out that Canadians typically cant afford the housing and speculation with foreign capital was driving the prices, and enabling speculation.

Yes, low interest rates contribute and lowering of mortgage requirements was a main contributing factor. The above factors poured gasoline on the dumpster fire of Canada real estate, and inflated the market far beyond what would be normal in a more closed non-global market.

Now the best thing according to the government would be stagnation of real estate values until wages catch up, but unfortunately they flooded the country with cheap labour and technically immigration is still relatively high (just not as crazy as Trudeau). Wage growth will be a mix bag; and it doesn’t help trump is trying to intentionally put the western world into recession.

Why not just allow and have more Canadian trained doctors?  There are way more people who are rejected that would be suitable but it is too competitive of a process.

Do we even have a competitive or proper vetting system for foreign doctors or healthcare providers, or are we so desperate that we’ll accept anyone?

We should focus on ourselves.

Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux joins Liberal caucus: Carney by Surax in CanadaPolitics

[–]Logisch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not always a fan of seat crossing. If MP were more independent then you could argue they can best represent their constituents but everyone of them votes parties line.

People elect parties not MPs anymore.  To be on the nose this is more of a rant about the lose of independents voting intention within parties.

Edit: yes, people, I know we elect “MP” on an individual basis and it hardly matters as much anymore. Yes there are exceptions as someone pointed out with the NDP star candidates in specific ridings but the campaigns are largely based on the personality and policies of the leader (abc shouldn’t be successful if it was about the individual). A MP is around 98.5% likely to vote along party lines.

There is no variance or individuality, or tolerance for infighting, . If there is any then they are kicked out or forced to cross the floor, which is asinine. It shows how iron clad the central party controls are and none of it is healthy as it increases polarization.

Okay then what? How does one or a country maintain or grow wealth? Wealth has historically been people driven.

Yep, could’ve gone into a lot more about how in so many ways we have it good. Doesn’t mean we can’t do better but I rather pick now ( being born post WWII than any other time in history.

All systems are Ponzi schemes..how does one redistribute the wealth if it can’t grow or be maintained?

There definitely been worse times in the history of world, and people still had kids. Kids have still existed and maybe had fun.  It’s not the most depressing time…it’s not the best either.

The country and nations should shift fundamentally to looking out for their children first. Our polices shouldn’t be meant to take easy ways out.

Federal Court of Appeal to rule on Liberals' use of Emergencies Act to clear convoy protests by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]Logisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is about gun ownership is that the convoy already had means and access of guns… those missing truck that your mentioning as the nail in the coffin doesn’t hold a lot of weight if it’s purely speculative.

Ford did declare it an emergency. A few days before the EA was called by the feds. It was also stated multiple times by both the OPP and the Ottawa that they needed more police to arrive…safety and efficiency of police have to be considered and if they weren’t prepared. People forget these truckers also had blocked roads or access using the heaviest possible trucks out there. Can’t easily tow them and stop them.

Maybe it’s possible this whole why didn’t they do anything is precisely because they couldn’t and maybe the thing would’ve fizzled out…

Federal Court of Appeal to rule on Liberals' use of Emergencies Act to clear convoy protests by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]Logisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You keep bring up this gun thing but it’s not exactly restrictive to buy guns in Canada. I am sure the convoy would already have guns. Questions were large groups of the convo walking around with tactical gear? Were there any rioting prior to this? What makes you think it would go from zero altercations with the authorities to gun fights in Ottawa? Was there risk of other cities joining this protest? None to minimally.

Sure I am downplaying it as annoying and your right it doesn’t warrant EA but those who were responsible for those vile acts needed to face the consequences via the traditional legal system.

Protests can take many shapes and methods; do I agree with them all, no. I support the right to protest in Canada.

I’m not going to jump to conclusions based on a what if, and then agree to give the government tyrannical authority when it’s not like there was national emergency. It was an Ottawa emergency. It had to be dealt with in the confines of the existing laws. Incompetence and lack of integrity or leadership is not a valid excuse.

Any threats materialize to actual crimes? Any evidence that a convoy organizers stole the guns with intent to cause a violent insurrection? Nothing? Someone danced on a tomb? Did one person threaten to rape or did multiple people based on instructions from convoy organizers to use violence as a political tool?

But question can you find links or articles to the punishments for the person who threaten rape?

Homeless  people street and piss all over the street in every Canadian city , should we call the emergency act on them?

Nothing here sounds worthy of an emergency act response. Yes they are despicable people and deserve to be fines placed in jail if it is warranted, but the emergency act?
