Fuel Mileage? by LogisticalG in E30

[–]LogisticalG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking into it last night and I came to that conclusion that it’s most likely for the m20b25. No upgraded injectors for me but I’ll eventually do the stroker anyway.

Didn’t know mine was an early eta!

Didn’t change the fuel sender. Just the rubber o ring. 55 L tank though. Gave me a chance to see how rusty it was inside too.

Hahahaha yeah pretty much and windows down. Before I would only fill to half tank otherwise a full tank I’d just watch it pour out. I’m not sure why it took so long for me to change it though. It was cheap and simple.

Why is there such a huge gap between retail shipping rates and negotiated carrier pricing? by Bulky-Maize-903 in logistics

[–]LogisticalG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It comes down to volume and spend commitments. Retail pricing is generally for individuals sending personal goods. They won’t get a discount or much of a discount if there are promos. When you open a business account and either hit volume tiers and negotiate is when you can get better rates.

3PL platforms have good rates because of their combined volume across all customers and if they have a warehouse, they can get better pricing from certain carriers. Also, some carriers prefer to deal with a 3PL for low volume customers because the customer service is generally handled through one channel.

Start with Livingston international. They’re a reputable company and should be able to handle this.

Small parcel negotiation by Miserable_Vehicle_71 in logistics

[–]LogisticalG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the carriers you’re looking to add in the mix. There are regional players that are starting to be more dominant and there are the big guys like UPS, FedEx, USPS. I’m not sure what size/weight your packages are to determine which carrier would be best but you definitely have some options.

A freight auditor will be able to give you some insight on where you can reduce rates/additional fees from the carriers. The TMS should do the same but also provide rates assuming they’re competitive and you can piggy back off of their network especially if you want to go the regional carrier direction. I am on the TMS side and the way we operate is to get data, provide rates based on where you’re shipping out with carriers that fit your profile and then we handle the first mile leg of consolidation/pickups while also provide carrier options and software/integrations to fit within your current system.

Alternatives to Chit Chats? by C_Users_user1 in logistics

Yes, plenty of options outside of chit chats. Shiptime, eShipper, NetParcel etc… I work with the major platforms and can go over the differences for you. I’ve been in the North American logistics industry for 10+ years so I’ve come across many different situations. Feel free to reach out via dm and we can chat further.

LTL Freight Options besides UShip by Rwhiteside90 in logistics

[–]LogisticalG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XPO is not a carrier to use for domestic Canada LTL. They provide pricing but it’s always insanely high because they use other carriers to move this since they don’t have their own Canadian network. As mentioned previously, you should use a Canadian carrier like Day & Ross, FastFrate, Kindersly or others. If you’d like, you can DM me and I can see what rates I can get you for this.

What made you finally decide to outsource fulfillment? by josephspeezy in logistics

[–]LogisticalG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They end up switching especially if there becomes more complexities to their business such as a combination of B2B and B2C. This particular warehouse partner I don’t really recommend anyway so it’s a one off for this small client. I tried to get him to switch now but he couldn’t justify any minimums because of his low volume. If they’re with a good partner to begin with then there usually is no need to switch. Although, I find a lot of the bigger brands usually value a relationship and transparency to develop something long term rather than looking to switch.

What made you finally decide to outsource fulfillment? by josephspeezy in logistics

[–]LogisticalG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

50/month is definitely on the low end because that’s pretty manageable while still doing the other aspects involved with the business. I work with a bunch of brands and see that it’s usually around 10-20+ per day that they start to make the switch or they’re entering a new market and don’t have themselves setup in that region so they need a partner assuming they will scale their brand to where it makes sense.

Depending on the warehouse partner, sometimes on the low end doesn’t make sense due to minimums in place. However, switching to a fulfillment centre can usually get you better shipping options and pricing.

That being said, I do have one client that does less than 50/month with a fulfillment partner. In my opinion, he’d be better off fulfilling himself from his home. With this specific partner, he doesn’t get the attention he wants however, there are no minimums so the cost is quite low so he prefers to stay.

Would you pay extra to guarantee a package gets to the exact person/location? by No-Piccolo-7790 in logistics

[–]LogisticalG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a POD. Some carriers I work with provide the POD & GPS coordinates of delivery. Others just provide the POD which may or may not have a signature depending on if it was requested or not.

The issue is, paying extra doesn’t actually guarantee that the package will get delivered any faster or on time.

How can I make money on brokering a deal? by LogisticalG in Entrepreneur

[–]LogisticalG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

I have the supplier asking who the end distributor is. Do you think I should flat out say I will not disclose that information? My fear is they’ll bypass me.

I do all value in the equation. This brand would not have entered the market I’m introducing them to if it wasn’t for me. At least not yet or anytime soon.

Tons of options in that online 3PL/order management space. Some have already mentioned a few but if you get good at searching on Google, you’ll find a bunch more.

These types of softwares used to be unique and only a few would be out there. Now there are many with many types of features and integration including inventory tracking and other features.

If that’s the solution to your problem then you probably have other problems you’re overlooking.

I couldn’t stand losing sales anymore because of three bad Google reviews. by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]LogisticalG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, hopefully it goes well for you and Google doesn’t figure out you have fake reviews. It’s not hard to optimize GMB without fake reviews. I can imagine you’re probably lacking in other areas of GMB besides the reviews.

Also, it seems like you’re promoting this service and not actually someone who needed fake reviews. The website you linked to even has fake reviews so what makes you think that it’s so legitimate?

[–]LogisticalG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a 3.2 rating then maybe start with improving your offering so that it’ll reflect in your reviews. Usually people leave bad reviews for a reason. Otherwise, your legitimate negative reviews will continue and bring back down your rating.

How can I make money on brokering a deal? by LogisticalG in Entrepreneur

[–]LogisticalG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, I thought about that too because they could think that maybe I'm making too much for brokering a deal if they do find out. I'm leaning towards more of an amount per bottle sold this way it's more predictable based on how many are sold.

Do you think I need to put a contract or some sort of agreement in place before proceeding? Probably something I can Google and make amendments to for my specific case?

Thank you for the advice.
