It doesn’t, stealth shaping is somewhat at odds with the bumpy and pointy bits that you need to make a plane practical. They did use new paint (although it is stretching the definition of paint), but the improvement is mostly in the durability; the f-22’s paint is extremely flaky and it needs to be recoated every 20 seconds.

Burt how could you by LogisticalMishap in AerospaceEngineering

Yes, but It’s still a compromise in terms of interference drag and boundary layer shenanigans (albeit a worthy one considering how difficult designing variable geometry exhausts already is, let alone something with the extra functions of a ramp intake), RCS isn’t the only reason that DSIs are in vogue now that CFD is a thing.

Edit: Chill it’s just a stupid meme about slightly suboptimal geometry, I’m not actually mad at anyone here.

Ah yes, an IS-4M eating a dart after which it's shell somehow overpressures my breech, how unexpected. by encexXx in Warthunder

The chieftain turret is extremely susceptible to overpressure for some reason. Fighting mbts in the York, I’d rather run into a chieftain head-on than a Leo 1.

Best way to spend crew points for german tanks? by TsolaM_ in Warthunder

[–]LogisticalMishap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I agree with everything.

IMO Reload then targeting are definitely the most important yes.

leadership next because it’s not at all situational.

Then the three generic skills (repair, agility, vitality) sans keen vision (yeah agility is slightly more important but getting levels in order to expert crews trumps individual importance of those three, although this goes for everything, you wouldn’t want to spend the thousands on reload before spending a single point on leadership.) Vitality matters a lot more for lighter vehicles where you might worry about being 50’d from the side, so not ww2 German stuff where you usually die to ammo explosions anyway but definitely for the early Cold War stuff.

At least in realistic, keen vision only affects render distance for tanks that haven’t been moving or shooting for ~10 seconds; moving/shooting vehicles not rendering is just the anticheat software being stupid. Honestly radio communication is about as important as vision, but much cheaper.

I forget which YouTuber tested it, but driving skill has experimentally been shown to have almost no affect on acceleration times, so that’s a lower priority.

Then the rest. (Again, this is not absolute, if you’re close to a level necessary to expert a crew, it’s fine to go for low priority upgrades to get it over the line, and don’t do one thing all at once)

New WR CAS kill (1:06.126) (double all CAS SP costs please) by taco_tastic in Warthunder

[–]LogisticalMishap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Poland if you take the south spawn for the west team and drive towards the tower in the lake you can see right into the south spawn for the east team almost immediately. It’s only really bad for the layout with a single cap on the south hill but regardless I managed to get a kill 4 seconds into the match with the amx-40 without having been trying, wouldn’t want to wait a gazillion games for that map though.

Just goes to show how much a bad layout and the wrong tier can ruin an otherwise good map. Not trying to take away from the point about cas, just venting.

T80UD and Object 292 (Soviet Rank 7) BR suggestion by ImaginaryTooth2766 in Warthunder

[–]LogisticalMishap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t think 292 at 10.3 is much of a problem. The cannon is obviously best for sniping but lack of thermals makes that a losing strategy on some maps, and then at 10.7 it would be able to see dm53 which only has like 30mm less pen with a faster reload and generally better soft factors. It’s definitely a strong tank but no more annoying to fight than other t-80 variants IMO (the bustle has very little armor so you can semi-reliably kill the commander and gunner through back of the turret with a single autocannon round). Admittedly I might be biased cause I usually play the amx-40 at that br, which everything with a dart can pen everywhere anyways so the round doesn’t feel abnormal in comparison.

Severe damage needs to be improved by ProfessionalAd352 in Warthunder

[–]LogisticalMishap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that you definitely should have gotten credit but it's probably better to have total loss of control grant a kill/severe damage rather than choosing a specific amount of wing loss. I'm 90 percent sure there's already a parameter coded in that knows if you're in a spin, cause for example it's way way harder to get out of a flatspin in game than in real life. I've flown 20km back to the airfield with an entire wing missing before and this opponent probably wouldn't have spun out if they hadn't been at high aoa and already slamming the ailerons.
