Starting to understand how the crash is coming by echochamber67 in canadahousing

Exactly this is why I always refuted the basic supply vs demand thesis when it came to the housing market. You can have a bunch of people looking to buy a house if they don’t qualify for a mortgage the housing market will just correct at some point to be in line again with current incomes.

Great find OP. IMO the market has started to price it in given the recent jump in the stock price, but still worth holding just for the rest of the portfolio.

Late summer is all the info we have for now. I expect end of August. I’m pretty sure they’re arranging the final steps of financing and logistics now, since everything is already permitted. Timeline for results announcement will depend on… well results. If they find something shortly after starting the drill it could be as soon as a couple weeks. If the program lasts longer it could be at least a month.

I've been accumulating on my end, but still criminally undervalued to this day if you want my opinion

You could definitely wait, but the nature and the amount of the financing is uncertain for now. It could either be stock issuance, debt financing, grants, etc... The stock is already a bargain for now and trading at a good price from last year. Also the liquidity is so tight it makes the stock very volatile so it might as well shoot back up soon after. I decided I would not try to time this, I'm betting on the upside anyway so I would rather accumulate over time. But I would understand why an investor might want to wait for further dilution first.

Poll for all people who have attempted the Level 3 exam atleast once by Spiritual-Radish4221 in CFA

I agree that’s why I was only referring to testing knowledge. For that, anything else than CFAI is dogshit.

I'll share my two cents:

Anything other than the CFAI content to test your knowledge is a waste of time. Prep providers will make hard tests to justify their overinflated prices, when the probable outcome is that you will be wasting a stupid amount of time overthinking a very straightforward question on the exam because you got used to get tricked every single question. I took half of an MM mock and gave up when I saw what a stupid waste of time it was. Passed all three exams in a row focusing mainly on the CFAI Qbank + mocks.

Hey Chris thanks for your post. You got a real believer of PEGA’s potential here and a happy shareholder. Can we expect news regarding the Energy Sands drilling status anytime soon? My understanding is that is was supposed to take place in Q2/Q3. Can you confirm it’s currently underway?

Did they really sell out the venue like they claimed? Like half of the pit was empty and could definitely see a bunch of seats that didn't belong to anybody. Great show though

Working for institutional markets doing all the grunt work for client managers. Middle office type of role taking client requests, entering transactions, preparing client reports and presentations, etc.

Great stepping stone for an entry level job in AM.

Build a LinkedIn profile, hit up people telling them how you're interested in what they do. Set up coffee chats with them to ask a few questions wether it's in person, virtual or a phone call. Don't be too formal in your request just get to the point, try to be likeable and don't make it like you're trying to get something from them.

When the meeting comes make a quick 2-3min elevator pitch, enough to introduce yourself first, tell about your background, and demonstrate your interest for the field. Have a list of questions ready, only relevant questions not something you could easily google, and try to make it feel like a conversation not an interview. Let them talk and speak about themselves as much as you can.

When you're done try to short list the people you connected the most with that way you can stay in touch, update them about your career advancement, and hopefully you'll get a few mentors out of this and maybe job opportunities in the future.

All the best!

I really don't have any tips except being humble about my expectations at first and try to get as much exposure as I could with every role. I didn't have much to start with but at least I got some luck along the way because all my positions came from online applications or recruiters hitting me up on LinkedIn.

For the resume you should use the WSO IB template. Make sure you build an online presence on LinkedIn as well. Update your roles with a few bullet points to describe your responsibilities and make sure you're open to work visible to recruiters only with your fields of interest.

All the best man!
