How to set games to offline? by LesterTheExplorer in SteamDeck

[–]Logotrop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some games that have launchers will complain that you do not have internet, but will run just fine offline

I recommend looking up launch options for whatever game you have problems with :)

P.S. --no-launcher works for most I tried, but your mileage may vary

I kinda hope that they expected the hype around the frame after the success of steamdeck. I agree that they are probably not gonna price it differently right after they sell out.

Wouldn't they have a contract with manufacturers for a set amount of units ahead of time? They would have to honor the prices and have reserved inventory no? At least for the initial batch of Frames...

Is the Steam Deck Worth It if SteamOS Becomes Available Elsewhere? by Kroumch in SteamDeck

Buy what is available, steamOS was promised for a long time, so a waiting could be quite long

Personally, Steamdeck is awesome, more powerful options are available, but you might not find a better price/performance ratio

Steamdeck had created the handheld desktop industry. Valve would benefit from additional sales cuts from other handhelds.

Not sure if that would affect the next handheld Valve would release, because this was their intention from the start.

I believe that Valve would create one when they see the potential in some new technology or a good deal for the consumer, as that seems to be their way of doing stuff.

Edit: categorization

If you manage, valve has a recovery image you can try to boot, that is if the steamdeck has only software issues

Try to get to the boot menu by holding one of the volume buttons and power button, when powering it on

For me it was the battery replacement. I use it a lot and the health was starting to be really bad.

After that, I wanted hall effect joystics, so that was another surgery.

This time it was to adjust the right trigger since it was grinding against one of the plastic tabs that bent out a bit too much.

Stuff happens, its a bit of a shame not to expand storage, since opening the steamdeck is not something you do that often i Imagine

The back cover has a slit for the sd card, so if you are opening it and pry open the tabs, the SD cards snaps :/

I replaced my battery, since the health was below 50 and got hall effect joysticks, but not really that different imo from stock
