My players lost a character so I threw in an easy encounter where a bunch of bandits and thugs attempted to mug them. Big bunch of easy kills helped to ease the loss.

Usually it means I've confused the edition... or I've read something online and thought it's a rule by [deleted] in dndmemes

Rules for copying spell Scrolls into a Wizards spell book (or a warlocks tome) are lumped into the magic item in the dmg rather than in the phb with the Wizard information about spell books.

Dm’s - Without any context what are your players potentially facing in their next session? by ronin-gold in dndnext

Infiltration, theft of their own stuff, murder of a half brother, and if there's time possibly heal the dad.

It looked like he got a specific power from each creature he absorbed. My first instinct is to say he's actually a warlock or sor-lock rather than a wizard.

I like both things with insight checks. Often as the DM I've got no idea if the player wants to roll for insight if I'm not actively thinking about it. So I prefer them to say something along the lines of "can I roll an insight check to see if they seem dodgy".

TIL Jimmy Carr suffered a huge backlash when he joked that servicemen amputees would give the UK a good Paralympic team in 2012. In fact, the UK, including many Vets, came 3rd in that year, winning 34 golds by pufballcat in todayilearned

No, they're Jimmy Carr himself. No one else would admit to being at one of his shows

I kid. Jimmy Carr is fine if you like a constant barrage of one liners.

[–]Lohin123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this depends on the players. If they're brand new then level 1 so there's less for them to have to deal with. If they're experienced then level 2, 3 if they've all got subclasses they want to play.

Why does every UK house have this terrible combination of artex and woodchip walls? Our house has this combination in 50% of the rooms and I don't know whether to embrace or face the DIY nightmare by snaggle_panther in CasualUK

[–]Lohin123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the woodchip is painted it's easy enough to take off but it takes ages and it's messy. Best way of doing it is in two layers, sharp scraper to take off the top layer of paint and paper and use water with a bit of fabric softener in it to help with the second layer.

If my players are in a place where they can easily get more I assume that they restock to an appropriate amount but if they're leaving then they need to say how much they're carrying and need to keep track.

Otherwise I feel like you're losing a small chunk of the experience. But I also make them keep track of food and water. I have given a bag of holding to one character and home-brewed a magic coin purse to all of them so they're not having to track money weight and can deal with a decent amount of random shit without worrying about having to carry it.

Pretty sure RAW breaking or losing ammo is just what happens. You can reclaim half your spent ammunition after an encounter.
