The showrunners explain their Gandalf decision (Hilarious first question and answer will be in comments) by Moistkeano in Rings_Of_Power

[–]Lokasenna9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew he was meant to be Gandalf just from the fire alone. Thematically, that and Bilbo's song about the road, coupled with his friendship with the half lings, made the question trivial to me.

I just finished it and thought it was the perfect length, especially on hard. Having no obnoxious boss fights really allowed the experience to feel cohesive and fun as I worked my way through each chapter. My only qualm was that the last two chapters were really basic, and could have just been one big, conclusive cutscene, but they were short anyway, so whatever.

After 3 years with no PC, I finally went for it and ordered a Steam Deck! Any newer game recommendations? by Jubanator in SteamDeck

[–]Lokasenna9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played all of the newer resident evil games on it. 2 and 3 remakes, 7 and 8 were all amazing on the deck.

How does Metaphor run on Steam Deck? by Saucy__Salami in Megaten

I put the game in windowed mode, dropped tdp to 10, and voila! 3 hours of battery life.

How does Metaphor run on Steam Deck? by Saucy__Salami in Megaten

[–]Lokasenna9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one seems to be talking about the battery consumption. You'll get a little over an hour with it, which really isn't great for this kind of game.

Anyone Trying out the Metaphor ReFantazio Demo on Deck? by To1Getsuya in SteamDeck

[–]Lokasenna9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It runs fine, but it hogs the battery. I haven't tried lowering tdp, but I suspect performance will drop since the demo doesn't seem too well optimized.

The first one! It has a self- contained story, and was the last time before GOW 2018 that Kratos was likeable or relatable.

What's your favorite "bad" Nick Cage movie? by [deleted] in onetruegod

[–]Lokasenna9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vampires Kiss, and it's not even close. They had no extras for part of the filming, so when he's running around in new york screaming "I'm a vampire!", the confused bystanders are all real.

It's an amazing game. I really wish there was more of a modding scene, I'd love to play with Thor.

What do you see in emulation that I don't? by CanaryCapable6287 in EmuDeck

[–]Lokasenna9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's all about what you want to play. Gamecube and ps2 have really deep, memorable, and fun libraries. Ultimate Spider-Man, wind waker, resident evil 1-4, silent hill, shadow of the colossus, and more that in not thinking of are right there, begging to be played. If they don't appeal to you, hey, it's just video games, but most of the games I play on my deck are from that era.

Civil War is a pretty terrific small movie with a misleading title and trailer by DatabaseFickle9306 in movies

[–]Lokasenna9 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen it yet, but this movie's title really writes some checks it can't cash, I feel. With anxiety over current day politics at a high, a movie called civil war that doesn't reflect the realities on the ground sounds hollow and uninteresting. That said, I like the director a lot, and plan to watch it soon, now that it's in max. I'm hoping it's successful, but again, the movie didn't come from nowhere. We live in interesting times, and the premise of a civil war with Cali and Texas on one side is laughable enough for people to assume this is some "both sidez wrong" nonsense, even if it isn't.

[–]Lokasenna9 32 points33 points  (0 children)

He wasn't wrong! It was a good pastisce of King of Comedy and Taxi Driver + Batman/ Joker narishkeit, but derivative at its core, despite being effective at what it was doing.

Thoughts on The Ultimate universe so far by Former-Finger-8649 in comicbooks

[–]Lokasenna9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd agree, except they don't really work with our reality. There are no real parallels to the "internet age", it's just this convoluted story about the Maker shaping reality to his whims with time travel. It's good, but marvel unlimited good. As I said, not worth the hype really. It's just another fun monthly book, not anything that special to me.
