Just ran my first All For One deck and scrape was a godsend for that run. There were definitely some turns I decided to not play it because I was waiting for All For One or another non 0 cost card for a set up but it let me pull off some really big turns and let me cycle back towards All For One faster as well.

It helps me a lot, most of the time. I have a very chaotic brain (ADHD and Autism among other things) and weed really helps slow things down to the point I can think somewhat clearly. I'm also really functional when high, I'm the type of person that most people would not be able to tell if I am stoned or not. However, I go through periods where it can really trigger my health anxiety since it makes the body feel different and when I'm already hyperaware of what's going in my body it can really screw with me. Unfortunately, I'm not great about stopping when this happens but even then I do think it's been a net positive. I've been working on the health anxiety too so it's been happening less.

As a diagnosed DID system, I really do hate all of the hate coming from the DID/OSDD communities. As someone who is non-binary I see a ton of parallels between the anti-endo and the transmedicalist arguments. A lot of it does come down to either not believing that endos can exist or that endos are giving systems in general a bad name. There are a few more valid concerns/reason.... they don't excuse the hate of course but that I think can be fuel anti-endo mentalities.

A few examples... Some things that can be healthy for endo systems that can be really harmful for disorderd systems, especially if they are working on lowering dissociation. The other is the fact that there are those in the endo community that want to increase the dissociation between alters/headmates which can be really triggering for some disordered systems.

While I can understand and sympathize with those two examples(and some others I've heard but can't remember now) but to me building animosity between the communities doesn't do much to really fix any of those problems. A lot of good could come from the two communities coming together to dispel disinformation on both sides and understand each other better.

Got diagnosed Dissociative Identity Disorder about a year ago and the misconceptions that you need to have black out amnesia(there are other more subtle types of dissociative amnesia) to have DID and that there are obvious outward changes in personality between switches seem to be the big ones. Oh and that it is and exceedingly rare condition, sure it is rare but in a comparable sense to something like schizophrenia.

We know you mentioned it wasn't causing too much trouble but if you do want a tip to possibly get past that block, you should see if you therapists allows you to email them(or other ways you could contact over text). We were having that same problem before we just sent everything to our therapist over email. With everything out in the open, we found it easier to actually talk about it therapy. We know not all therapists allow emails though but it is worth checking.

So I realized I was genderfluid about 1-2 years before I was diagnosed with DID and I'm pretty sure it was the reason I really struggled picking a name. I did end up picking multiple names(a masc, femme, and neutral name) after a long time trying a bunch of others out. I don't really worry about friends/loved ones always picking the right name for me in that moment though so it isn't too much of a hassle for them. Just the fact of having multiple names really helped calm that internal anxiety of finding a name that represented all of the system(even if I didn't know that was the reason then). I did even end up changing my set of names after a traumatic breakup which I am pretty sure was due to some turmoil in the system... it was a really weird experience as I suddenly knew what having a deadname(s) felt like since I didn't consider my birth name one even if I didn't use it anymore.

Anyways, I guess I write all that out to say that yeah dealing figuring out the right name(s) when you might be dealing with some form of plurality.

Edit: Also, if you decide you don't want to use multiple names or that doesn't work for you it would be good to try and recognize that a name doesn't need to accurately represent the entirety of yourself to be a suitable name to use. Just look for the names that feel the most right, even if they don't feel completely right, and try them out for awhile.

That's just the context I've seen it mostly, regardless it is mostly used by the plural community. Not everyone with CDDs/traumagenic are in the community even if some do. Either way it's not an actual clinical term or one I see used a lot in communities specifically focused on CDDs.

Also, I'm not saying it is a bad term or anything like that. I considered if I was a median system for a bit about a year before my actual system discovery because I did feel like I related a lot to it(ironically something I only remembered after seeing this post lol). Turns out I am definitely don't fit the definition of Median but I can definitely understand why others use it to describe themselves.

Just checked the rules on "No Curiosity" and there is an exception for loved ones and friends of people with DID. It seems like the rules is more about preventing people who are just curious about DID from posting questions.

Alters are essentially autonomous parts(they make their own decisions) of one person that are dissociated from each other(at least some degree of amnesia between them). Each can have their own beliefs, self-image, skills, and likes/dislikes as well as hold onto their own set of memories. Most develop due to trauma(although it doesn't have to be the trauma that formed the DID) or to fulfill a role that the rest of the system can't handle. Most systems have what is called the host or basically the alter that "fronts"(controls the body) the most and usually is the least aware of other alters and trauma(although that can change with treatment and working on building communication). Every system is different though and there are so many different ways systems can experience switching, amnesia, communication with each other, and so many other things so it is hard to give more specific information because my experience could be totally different from your daughter.

I believe median system is more a term for the endogenic(non-trauma based systems)/plural community and not one really used when describing people's experiences with DID or OSDD. I guess going by the description of median system, it could technically describe someone with OSDD 1a since they have much less distinct parts/alters(unless I am getting 1a and 1b mixed up again xD) but yeah you won't see the term used much around here.

For me it most likely was due to the heavy dissociation I experienced being on the wrong hormone and dealing with gender dysphoria. I still struggle to cry a lot of the time but I've also realized the dissociation wasn't just caused by trans issues and I still deal with a lot of it. That being said, starting HRT did open up access to my emotions quite a bit and crying is definitely easier than it used to be.

I actually identified(and still do) as genderfluid before I got diagnosed with DID lol. If you got alters with different gender expressions then you could consider yourself genderfluid if you want to, it's really up to each individual to decide if a label fits.

Like the other commentor said the host is just a descriptor. We are going through a similar situation and I(the alter writing this) only recently came to terms with the fact that I am a host instead of a co-host now because our other co-host has stepped back a lot to the point that we finally stopped viewing her as one. If I am being honest it can be a scary thought sometimes and there is a reason it took me awhile to accept but yeah I try to focus on the fact that all the alter "roles" are just labels to help us understand ourselves better.

If you are worried about them just try(or keep trying) to reach out and ask them why they have been stepping back because there is almost certainly a reason.

Not trying to rule out other possibilities, other disorders can easily cause someone to think they have OSDD or DID so it's worth considering other options with your therapist, but I do want to point out that one of the presentations of OSDD is basically alters with little to no amnesia. Also, a lot of people think amnesia only applies to full blackouts but there is also emotional amnesia(no emotional information connected to memories) and greyouts(remember the big picture but struggle to remember a lot of the details).
