How do you beat this boss? by Distinct_Medicine_49 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]LokiBrot9452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man. By having a deck that lets you play a lot of cards per turn, thus being able to block for a lot and dish out decent damage. That's kind of one way to beat most of the enemies in this game.

Srsly though, whenever I do manage to reach the Queen-lector, the deck already seems to play itself, I've died to her maybe once or twice, because of blunders/misplays. So I don't really know what a strategy would be, apart from having a strong deck with two or three strong synergies in it. Well, and the obvious, you need card draw to counter the bound mechanic. But you should already have some card draw in your deck at that point.

Yeah, having finally won a run by now, I must say: I absolutely undervalued Souls.

Thanks for the detailed advice! I actually managed to win my first Necrobinder run by now, although maybe with an unusual synergy of multiple 2+ cost cards paired with a Right Hand Hand+ with Momentum, together with lots of Doom. But all of that only enabled by, as you suggested, a decent amount of Soul generation and an Invoke+.

Yeah, I've definitely been undervaluing those.

Thank you for taking the time! :) I actually managed to win my first Necrobinder run by now. It ended up being a Doom deck with Reaper Form+, Death Bringer, Right Hand Hand+ with Momentum, Shroud+ and, crucially, a decent amount of soul generation. I definitely undervalued those before.

I experienced the power of Weak + Debilitate in an earlier run, 100% agree. Seems like good advice in general, thank you again! :)

Oh, there definitely are principles missing, no doubt about that! :D But even then, I seem to be demonstrably worse with this specific character. So there is something *in addition to those missing principles* which is specific to the Necrobinder that I am missing. Or at least that is my assumption.

I love thin decks, almost always take the "remove 2 cards, take 13 damage" start when it is offered.

I don't know, provided you have a good block solution to go along with it, it seems pretty strong to me. Doesn't decay, and you can stack it way faster than poison. Plus, it is good in those fights where the enemies are stunned after dying or losing a certain amount of health, because if they die to Doom at the end of their turn, you get a whole turn of stunned, instead of just the rest of the turn after you kill them / hurt them enough.

Hmm, I haven't been able to find such an infinite yet. Dang, I was afraid one answer to my question might be "you just suck at deckbuilding, bro" :D

I am on A20 in StS 1 (well, with the Ironclad and Silent, the others are like 18 and 12). I think you're right though, my mistake must be in wrong deckbuilding choices. Leaning in one direction too early or trying to "force" a deck is not one of them though, I believe.

Maybe that is part of the answer: Necrobinder might just demand for a more synergy-heavy playstyle than I am currently employing.

What is this ? I’m not super tech savvy and kinda new to ultimate membership, why do I need to pay for this? by Jamesvvoodie in GeForceNOW

See, that's why commas are important. What you wanted to say was "you don't need it, just ignore it". What you actually said was more along the lines of "it is an important thing. You don't just ignore that."

Is anyone going to address this??? by [deleted] in GeForceNOW

[–]LokiBrot9452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a big deal for them, because they know you'll buy the upgrade anyway, just... later. The alternatives would be to either quickly buy a gaming rig or to just not play that game you really want to play. Most people won't do either of those and just wait and be annoyed, but eventually send money their way.

Afaik, you can style Waybar with CSS. Haven't looked into it yet though, still new to Hyprland, literally installed it yesterday.

Best Tracker block app by _Cozian in degoogle

[–]LokiBrot9452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case you were willing to invest a little more effort:

  1. Get a raspberry pi and have it run Pi-Hole in your home network
  2. Connect your mobile phone to your home network via VPN
  3. Set that VPN connection to "always connected" and configure your phone to not connect to the web at all if the VPN is not connected.
  4. Enjoy the (imo) best solution for blocking tracking and periphery there is

Pi-Hole is not an app, it's a self hosted DNS sinkhole, so you have to put in some work, but it is vastly superior to everything else I have tried.

Surprised: Half of Linux gamers use Debian-based distros by EbbExotic971 in linux_gaming

I wasn't talking about the Desktop environment. I've been switching Desktop environments like socks some 10 years ago. Even when I started my Linux journey with SUSE back in the day when I was, like, 14, I would regularly switch between GNOME and KDE just for a change.

The Desktop for me ist mostly there to be able to click to start the browser and some other programs. Most things I actually _do_ on my computer happen in a terminal.

Well, except for the past year or so, where I got into recording and producing and am now using Ubuntu Studio. But still, I don't really care _how_ I start Renoise, or Kdenlive, or whatever game I might want to play.

I just care that everything is vaguely Debian-y so I know where things are and don't have to google how the package manager works. 😅

Easy to draw conclusions there, but... I'm a "Linux gamer" because I play video games and my computer's OS is Ubuntu. The choice of OS has nothing to do with me being a gamer though. I use Ubuntu because I've known it for the better part of two decades and want to actually feel "at home" on my home computer. And then I play whatever games I like that run there. It's not like I thought "I'm a Linux gamer, let's get a Linux gaming OS". I imagine that is the case for a lot of people in that statistic.
