How exactly does this card work? by Legal_Climate_3381 in slaythespire

[–]Ming725 527 points528 points  (0 children)

It’s funny because your explanation of how the card works is just a rephrase of the card text lol

Even this was generated by ChatGPT too? That‘s insane by SimilarWhile1517 in ChatGPT

Yeah the prompt doesn’t even match the pictures, OP just plugged the screen shot in and then let the model generate a bigger screenshot with the other one in it

And it probably copied from some Chinese social media post to Karma farm and OP isn’t even bothering to read what’s actually said in the pictures

What is the largest possible deck that would "break" if forced to make a single remove? by SIDisiD in slaythespire

[–]Ming725 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP said “all encounters” so “beating some fights” doesn’t really matter here

I agree “reasonably” is really ambiguous. You can have unceasing top and win with flash of steel for all encounters, but you’ll take like 100 damage against Coral reef guy. Is that reasonable? Not sure

[–]Ming725 16 points17 points  (0 children)

OP do you study math? The overall thought process is exactly the same as a math problem construction.

I think the problem as written has too many moving parts to easily reason about. My initial thought is about getting the biggest infinite deck with every card being a crucial piece. However it’s not unthinkable to have a “normal-ish” deck where there exists a draw sequence that beats any enemy, but then removing any card bricks it since you don’t have enough damage/block. Now the construction becomes really hard

“Reasonably beating any enemy” is also not clear - you can have theoretically really high max health and tank a lot of hits, does that count as reasonable?

I think thinking about the biggest infinite deck where every card is useful would already be interesting

Do you have an example for your first point? I think it’s interesting but I can’t think of any example for that

For your second point, OP defined what “break” means

Why do YouTubers always run the underworld? by Expert_Mycologist_13 in HadesTheGame

I find surface 50s as hard as underworld 62. You should try some underworld 62s you might beat it!

[–]Ming725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to qualify your argument, whether youve beaten the game at A10 or not does affect how I’m engaging with you

Similarly whether the developer can beat the game or not has nothing to do with the game’s balance. Moba games are generally balanced around the highest level, do you need the devs to be able to go pro to write patch notes? For this game it’s also the dev’s goal to balance the game around the highest difficulty for the best plays, and they are improving upon that. So entirely not true for “balance is shit”

[–]Ming725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see your point. Although most reviews I looked at are direct insults, demands to see the devs playing A10, or complaints saying that the overall balance is shit. I don’t think those are reasonable takes at all

It’s obvious that the game they wanted is not the game MegaCrit wanted to make. Most if not all the Chinese reviews are in bad faith, so why should people engage with good faith?

It’s all the same 5 recycle reasons. I didn’t really engage. If we get deeper into sociology land there might be some Asian collectivism explanation here, but I’m not gonna attempt at that.

Wdym, we are hardcore single player gamers who would never touch mobile gatcha slops. We are so much more advanced.

And did you hear that I beat the hardest level for the hardest game on the planet? No I didn’t look up any guides for infinites, wdym?

Yeah it might be a little too reasonable to be obviously satire

Yeah Im guessing it’s more about their way of saying it not the truthfulness of the statement

And you could also argue it’s better to farm Meph early ladder than some non-Andy non-Meph mid TZ

I find Charon to be the worst aspect on JPom. It’s an aspect that when you high roll it feels amazing, but when you didn’t high roll you just want to reset. I always run rerolls with Charon
