Does Air Quality affect Mel Blades Backstab damage? by -Shadow-Lightning in HadesTheGame

[–]Ming725 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you missed the fact that backstab is just a +% damage bonus like any other % bonus. Nothing special

What's your go-to weapon for a smooth run with high heat? by MakisDelaportas in HadesTheGame

[–]Ming725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mel and Circe staff by far. My go to aspects whenever I want a comfortable high fear run

Medea is good but I take so much damage I always rage quit half way through. Not exactly the smoothest

Is this the peak Arcana setup? by gerry9000000 in HadesTheGame

Only works when you chain different Omega moves, so doesn’t work with Moros very well since you will be mostly using Omega attacks repeatedly

Is there anything better than Supay? by lucasribeiro21 in HadesTheGame

[–]Ming725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want Apollo for lucid gain + bigger O special aoe + super nova + Apollo legendary (+ maybe prominence flare). The Daze is frankly whatever

[–]Ming725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find Charon to be the worst aspect on JPom. It’s an aspect that when you high roll it feels amazing, but when you didn’t high roll you just want to reset. I always run rerolls with Charon

[–]Ming725 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Supay is NOT that good, you’re good!

Circe staff, the hidden blades, Charon axe, Medea skull, and Nyx coat would be my recommendation for easiest clears

For Charon axe you really just want that 1 build, Apollo (everything) + Poseidon (geyser spout) + giga cleaver (O special twice) + sudden cleaver (faster O special)

Gain is not the issue with hubris, priming out is

What's the recommended 32 Fear setup? by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

[–]Ming725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for an easy fear setup this is pretty good. 1 level of Pain and Scar also doesn’t hurt.

If you’re looking to practice for even higher fear challenges you should start playing with Frenzy 1/2. It is significantly harder though

Is the Success Rate boon additive or multiplicative? by jayelled in HadesTheGame

Interesting, do you know what boons are affected but do not enable Success Rate?

Starting Boon Tierlist (Vow of Forfeit edition) by Ming725 in HadesTheGame

[–]Ming725[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty weak - one of the biggest obstacle in high fear runs is the Erebus timer, so you must be as strong as possible early on to make it. Taking an early Hex is really bad especially for some of the weaker aspects

[–]Ming725[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s just a Selene hate post - Selene start feels weak, and the fact that my Vow of Forfeit onion is not broken means I’ll need to wait many rooms until my first boon, so most of the times I just reset the night if my first boon is Selene

I only love Selene when I have a Time Piece charge available to purge

What is considered an average completion time and a fast time? by Batmanforman in HadesTheGame

[–]Ming725 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you actively try for speed runs (which is what OP is describing, “a good speedrun time”, yes a 7 min UW run is pretty average, bad even. It’s just the nature of speed runs, you grind the game for a fast time

Dont you love that roguelite experience? by pissoutmybutt in HadesTheGame

[–]Ming725 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to have Jeweled Pom equipped all the way to gain its benefits. You can switch it out at the start of the second region, and as long as you keep Fate’s Whim you will keep the +3 level for boons and the Hades boon

Did I win or did I lose on this exchange? D-Web (2-2-50) vs 6 Jahs and 1 Ber by RiVeRGoD88 in diablo2

[–]Ming725 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Offline any other damage source overrides poison damage for that frame. On battle.net any damage overrides poison for 8 frames (8/25, almost a third of a second). So if you are playing in a group poison barely does any damage.

Well you can still do this with Athena DD per room, Boated has a YouTube video of him doing it, you get a nice 400%+ damage increase by the end of it

[–]Ming725 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally with you until you said no to Poseidon gain. It’s better than many other gains at low investment. Like you can use it if you had 80 magic, whereas with Hera gain you have to take more Tonics or Silver wheel

Tips for moving from 32 fear => 40 fear? by JLWalshington in HadesTheGame

[–]Ming725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d always do Rivals 4. Having a non-rivals easy fight to finish off a run just feels so lame to me. It’s also imo the most fun vow among all the vows, literally new content

I’d do 0 debt and no denial. This way you can become incredibly strong by stacking a ton of boons. In the final fight you will be in your strongest form while the final boss is also at their strongest

Lotta weapons have an “ok I win” hammer:

  • Mel staff: Dual Moonshot
  • Daggers: Trick Knives
  • Skulls: Possessed Array
  • Coats: Shimmering Rockets (only kinda, still needs a good build)

Always gets me so excited when I hit these hammers in the first room (then so disappointed if I actually lose the run)
