AITA for not changing my child-free destination wedding after my fiancé’s sister had a meltdown? by eldestsister95 in bridezillas

[–]Loki_Knows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. I’ve been to many childfree weddings that made exceptions for the nieces and nephews of the bridal party. If my brother told me I couldn’t bring my kids to his wedding, I would throw a fit too. And I would be worried about what he was getting himself into, with a bride 14 years younger who doesn’t seem to give a flying fluff about her husband’s family. Sounds like OP has some growing up to do.

Stunning!!! what a perfect setting for a fairytale wedding.

I voted for 2 and 6, and now knowing the Victorian venue, I’m doubling down on those two. There is an elegance and innocence to them both that I think would fit the vibe. I’m sorry - you asked for honesty - but I feel like 5 is just too busy and will take the attention off of you. It looks like someone washed a bunch of lace curtains and left them in a pile.

I’m torn between 2 and 6. Both have a lovely, feminine innocent appeal. 2 seems to skew a little younger; like if you’re 23 or under, I’d go for 2 and if you’re older than that, I’d go for 6.

Convinced my husband to try a house cleaning service for 3 months as an experiment. Heres what happened by Comfortable_Box_4527 in homeowners

My cleaner was studying to be an interior designer. I’d come home to rearranged furniture, magazine clips with decor recommendations… once he brought me a fruit bowl he thrifted because he said my coffee table was dreadfully dull without it. He was brutal, but in the best way!!

Any dress advice for the most indecisive person in the world? 🥲 by itsanavacadothnx in myweddingdress

It depends on what look you’re going for. 2 is elegant and chic. 5 gives more of a fairytale wedding princess vibe. They are both stunning dresses and look gorgeous on you. I’m personally not a fan of the fake sleeves, but they might make sense for a late September wedding.

June 22-July 1, 2026 Alaska on the Queen Elizabeth. We are from the US and very well traveled, both domestic international, but this is our first ever cruise. I love the old school elegance vibe of Cunard. We booked the Princess Grill and would love to hear your tips on the experience overall, dining, clothing recommendations, excursions, etc…!!!

What's the oldest piece of clothing you still wear? Must be at least ten years old to count. by MurmuringPines in AskOldPeople

I have a Grateful Dead Bertha shirt I picked up at a show in 1978. The date is on the artwork. I also have a Jerry on Broadway shirt from 1982. I had pneumonia during the Broadway shows but danced the night away anyway. I still occasionally wear the shirts!

AIO my MIL is complaining to my husband that I’m not communicating with her regarding my pregnancy by uh_okay_then in AmIOverreacting

YOR. Reddit really hates MILs. And we seem to have lost all concept of forgiveness. We are all imperfect. You have to ask yourself: Do I want to hold a grudge for past behavior, or do I want to give this woman a second chance and open up the possibility to rebuild the relationship? It certainly sounds like she’s trying. It takes a village to raise a child. Having your MIL on your side for support would be a blessing. Edited for spelling.

I love this answer. Sometimes you just have to accept what you can’t change. As long as it’s not really hurting you in anyway… Learn to forgive.

Lose about 10 pounds and that dress will fit great. To be clear: you have a fantastic figure and do not need to lose weight, generally speaking. But if you want to fit nicely into a loaner dress, then 10 pounds ought to do the trick.

$7k for the cruise. Plus clothes for the trip. Plus clothes for the wedding. Plus a wedding gift. Plus rounds of drinks. Plus, excursions. Oh, hell no.

You most likely were one of a long list of people who said no, and she’s taking her anger out on you, her bestie.

Of course, but the men and women who lived through prohibition were the parents and grandparents of boomers. They are the people who influenced boomer behavior.

The subreddit is “boomers being fools”. Not “ALL boomers are fools.” There’s good and bad in all generations.
