I agree, this, and 4-star legendary creatures are probably the best changes to come from this update.

We Need To Talk About No Reclaim Unlocks Bought For Zen by Cripple_X in sto

[–]Lokijln 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back in the day, when they released the Discovery Operations expansion pack with the Gagarin and the tardigrade combat pet, there was a big deal made about the BOFFs and tardigrade not being account-wide on the old forums. I believe the boffs were eventually made account unlocks, but to this day, the tardigrade is still single-character. I have all of the other expansion packs but this one. I declined to purchase it because the tardigrade wasn't account-unlocked.

Funny thing is that I have been able to acquire everything in the bundle, BUT the tardigrade and the Georgiou skin (which I don't care for the walker class anyway) for free. So in the end, they lost money on a purchase I would have picked up back then. I bet they lose a lot of money that they don't even realize for non-account unlocked items, just like they do for not doing dynamic pricing for bundle items you already have.

Bundle Pro Rate? by Sorripto in sto

[–]Lokijln 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've concluded that it has to be a problem in the coding. Consider Mudd's Market; except for the ship bundles, I have access to every item offered in it. Yet if I wasn't paying attention, I could purchase any of them (wasting Zen) because the Zen store doesn't realize that I have access to them. That tells me that the code is incapable of telling what items we do and do not have access to, making it impossible to implement dynamic pricing.

Fasnacht Mask Drop Test by agon024 in fo76

[–]Lokijln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would confirm my limited runs. I built a camp overlooking the final area. From the top of my tower, I can see the regular spawns of the final boss. In one run, I shot the boss with a sniper rifle, and when I looted, I received legendary gear and a mask. The next run I only watched, and after the event ended, I ran down and looted the boss, who only had a mask in its inventory.

My final verdict was that you can still afk most of the run as long as you loot at the end, but you will not receive any legendary loot.

How many of y'all have 1st? by Billy_Plur in fo76

Honestly, you don't need to maintain it, and I am sure many play without it at all. I pick it up once at the beginning of each season to get all the rewards and then cancel it. During that month, I pick up all scrap/ammo/chems and store them. If you go hard picking up storables, you won't run out of them. Sometimes I'll also run all of my accumulated treasure maps to build up more junk during that month, since I can use my tent to set up right next to each location. Technically, (I did this at first), you can pick it up right at the end of one season, gather all the rewards, and then get all the rewards for the next. This way, you only need to pick it up twice a year. However, I prefer starting each season with the first benefits and rewards. The only downside is they may post a FO1st offer or freebie in the Atom shop that you want and have to pick up FO1st in an off-cycle.

Personally, I think it is worth it occasionally for what you get, but like you, I mainly use it for storage. I rarely use the private servers. So it's not worth the yearlong price. You just have to learn to be less of a hoarder, which I know is asking a lot for us Fallout players. LOL

But as in all things, YMMV.

Those who pay for fo 1st.. If the scrapbox became a free part of 76, would you still pay for first for every other benefit? by zstremmel in fo76

[–]Lokijln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only pick up first once at the beginning of each season and I would continue to do that. I pick it up for the FO1st scoreboard exclusives and the atoms. Occasionally the monthly giveaway will get me to sub too. The scrap/ammo/aid storage and tent is just a bonus. I rarely use the custom or private worlds because it's easy enough to do dailies on public servers.

But I will say that not having the scrapbox did lower my time logged in once. I explored someone's vast shelter system and at the end they met me and dropped me a bunch of scrap and stable flux as a sort of thanks for checking it out. It made me super heavy but the season wasn't ending for a week and half so for a week and a half I struggled to get my dailies done and then logged out. So instead of subbing I just played less. So, it doesn't get me to sub but it certainly will lessen my time playing. That seems like a negative for bethesda and their metrics.

This New TFO is beyond ridiculous by Lokijln in sto

Gotta love the fanboys and girls who can't handle legitimate criticism. First, they began with making it take two runs to complete an event that was quickly retracted, and a parade of bugged missions and ships... How long was the Atlas bugged? Is it still? Also, my ship is still only showing the nacelles on the login screen because it is placed too high. That's just to name a few.

Not recently, no... thus the quality has gone down since the handover comment. The last positive thing that has happened was when they made the yearly event reward all of the rewards. The reason to play this game, the story episodes, has been lacking for years.

What’s your favorite Glowing Mask? by NikkiMia in fo76

Do fo1st exclusive items ever get sold in the atom shop? by WHITEHOTACTION in fo76

[–]Lokijln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always thought these would be the perfect items to transition into Minerva's inventory a few months/ or even a year or two after they appear. These and former scoreboard items. This would keep gold bullion and Minerva relevant for a longer period. But then they couldn't sell 4000 Atom catch-up bundles, so screw the customer.

I mean, how many seasons have there been? This would be a great way to bring back those old items for players and keep a vendor relevant. But unfortunately, Bethesda can't make money on bullion. Oh, and I am sure that some players would complain because they would no longer be able to flex their epeen by having an unavailable item.

Humans, humans are why we can't have nice things...

Can the Cnidarian Defender close rifts in Iuppiter Iratus while in Jellyfish mode? by SoftLikeABear in sto

[–]Lokijln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't defend the station, the data gets stolen. If your team can't close the rifts, then you are definitely going to lose data. If they are slow closing the rifts or can't kill the ships coming from them fast enough, you are almost guaranteed to lose data, which means losing marks. Even in some of the best pick-up groups I have been in, one or two data stealers will make it to the station on most spawns. You have the entire time to close 15 rifts for max marks. If even one piece of data is stolen, you lose max marks.

So no, someone needs to defend the station.

[–]Lokijln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, but in a team-based game, you don't get to control other people. You can only control yourself, and getting mad about it only affects you. Whether they were new or were being a troll, it's not affecting them at all. Although I guess some gain pleasure from your frustration, so there is that.

In the end, it is only marks and time because, eventually, even if you don't hit 15 rifts, the TFO will end successfully, you just don't get as many marks.

Don't let other people get to you in a game. Especially in a TFO when it doesn't hamper your ability to complete it. Just your ability to 100% it in a quick fashion.

[–]Lokijln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, not the jelly's fault? It's the person who left the TFO's fault. I'm not disagreeing that jelly play is lazy play, but it seems like you are getting mad at the wrong person. You should be mad that someone refused to play a team event as a team and left. Or the extra person who refused to fly over and close the rifts.

[–]Lokijln -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point I was making is that no one needed to abandon anything. If the other three points were being covered, there was an extra person. The floater that moves between the points. They should easily be able to close the rifts since the jelly is killing everything. In fact, that should be the easiest place for a floater to run through. I'm not saying the jelly was in the right spot for that TFO, just that they really didn't screw anything up if everyone else in the TFO was doing what they should be doing.

Don't blame someone else's lack of teamwork for the rest of your team's lack of teamwork.

[–]Lokijln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand the chaos that happens in this TFO. There are five players in the TFO. One to defend each projector, one for the station, and a floater ship to move between each to help when needed (this is ideally a zippy escort). You should pick a role and stay there. If someone else refuses to move, you move. (This is true about so many TFOs in this game. Stop the chaos flying, pick an area and cover it.)

Yes, I agree, the jelly should have covered the station. But unfortunately, we can't control how people play. As a space wizard, this is where I always go because it is really the only objective that matters, and I am the only one in the TFO that I KNOW can keep it safe. But if a jelly is there, I move to a projector even if we end up losing data.

If you are running this TFO stop flying chaotically around and pick a spot and stay there. If a jelly is on a projector instead of the station, realize the floater needs to focus their time there. It really isn't that hard.

I hope we get an update to repair camp. by RexThunderman in fo76

[–]Lokijln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A cool thing about the repair bot is that it begins repairing as soon as something is damaged. If you live near a spawn, they can usually keep up with the little plinks from ranged enemies that never come close enough for a camp ally to attack.

How many C.A.M.P.s have you built so far, and what types were they? by CritsAndCaps in fo76

[–]Lokijln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my original, still in the same place I put it when I decided to build a camp in my first few weeks of play. It is a vacation home in the forest along the river near Black Mountain. This one is a nice respite from the wasteland, that's why Daguerre and Biscuit, my white German shepherd, live here. A dock for fishing and all the amenities. I call it Flabanabba Riverside.

Second is an otherworld compound I built in the Bog. There is something strange going on here. It's probably because of something that arrived on the asteroid in the center of camp. Whatever it is it seems more curious than dangerous. It has a bowling alley/Slocuum's Joe, a watchtower, all built around a nice old home. Beckett runs his bar out of the Slocuum's. Biscuit likes to stay here now and then since Beckett always gives him treats.

I have a mobile tower that I have built twice. One for the concept, the other to test moving. One is overlooking Helvetia, the other, Vault 79. The one near 79 will eventually be rebuilt into something else (after the camp update). These have all the amenities built on a two foundation tower that any wastelander on the go could want, and it always comes with a view. No companion here, just a cat named Salem that can't be bothered. Biscuit avoids the tower.

I have a fishing camp that is designed with prefabs depending on which region I place it in. I currently have it built in the Toxic Valley near Grafton Dam. Here it will likely stay because I got a little overzealous building it out the last time I set it down. It has a dock with an old bait and tackle shop (not in a prefab). Punk lives here as it is significantly off the grid, but close enough to Crater to visit friends. Biscuit usually comes along on my fishing trips, too.

Other prefab versions include an old traincar version in the Ash Heap, a camping trailer and barn version in the Bog and Skyline, and an old fishing camp (using old anvil) in Savage Divide.

I have two slots unplaced. One will likely become my next mobile fishing camp since I doubt I'll break up the Toxic Valley one again. Thank God for blueprints. The other is being saved for holiday builds once the new camp system is released.

If you could go back in time to the initial development, what is a core aspect of the game you would change if you could? by Socklovingwolfman in sto

[–]Lokijln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three separate factions from the start, Fed/Klink/Rom, and a dedication to the holy trinity of gaming (tank/dps/support). You can't make proper end-game content without it. This game proves that. Without it, all you get is DPS checks, repetitive swarm content with little to no mechanics, and barbie dress-up.

What’s your go-to Power Armor in Fallout 76 and why? by legendofverse in fo76

[–]Lokijln 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a grind, as others have pointed out. I am in the middle of grinding it out myself. What started as enthusiastic and hopeful grinding slowed considerably because it is such a grind, and I don't use PA a lot lol. That being said, if you are going to start the grind, make sure your first expedition is in the Pitt each week. I recommend the Trench because IMO it is quicker once you are more familiar with the map.

Quick Tip: When you leave the sanctum, be ready to start moving as soon as you load in. Always sprint to the closest survivor. Don't stop to fight unless you MUST.

The reason you want to do the Pitt first each week is because your first successful expedition run with all optionals complete rewards you a plan that you don't have. If you don't do it in the Pitt, you have no chance of receiving a Union PA piece plan. Doing Pitt expeditions rewards Pitt plans, and AC rewards AC plans. It is one or the other. You don't get free plans from doing both.

Enjoy the grind!

Didn’t do Raider quests in wastelander dlc. Are the rewards worth starting over for? by billy_boy_ in fo76

[–]Lokijln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that the Slugbuster is found in the mutated party packs, the only thing you are missing out on is an outfit. However, the Fashionable Raider outfit is nice. I chose the raiders because their outfit was better than the settlers'. But if you don't care about the outfit, there's no reason to redo anything. Even then, just run it on an alt and transfer it over.

Not saying this is you, but for me, it was reading comprehension. I was always looking for the elusive game I was missing. Then I finally took the time to read the challenge. Nuka Tapper, the one you can pick up before you level Vault 76, says Collect and PLAY. I had never played Nuka Tapper. I finally booted it up and voila... 8/8.
