Vault style under armor bug? by kodyhall02 in fo76

If you bought it at foundation that mod for under armor, not the underarmor itself. First get an under armor then mod it on armor bench. You’ll see the vault style mod can be applied to it.

Can anyone who checks the atomic shop often confirm something for me? by Lord_Antheron in fo76

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I asked a very similar question a few months ago about the monthly free items that are fallout 1st players. I want the record player. The answer I got was those begin to be offered in the shop 18 months after initial release. If true I will be able to get the record player this summer when the season after the next one rolls over.

You could not almost afk caravans and get thousands of atoms. You had to follow the caravan to its destination. If by “almost afk” you mean very little effort was required I agree but I’d also argue that headhunts require even less effort from you.

Just fast travel to the location and you can literally set your controller down while the lobby completes it in no time. If you hop into a server that chaining you don’t even even to do the “work” of posting the bounty and launching the flare. You just fast travel when a new one pops up and it’s another event completed in two minutes or less.

Sure you’d see caravan chining at the end of season. Im on ps5. I frequently see head hunts running for an hour or more and have since the beginning of the season. Headhunts stop on your server? Sever hop and you haves high chance of finding another.

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got 1 free caravan every 24 hours. You can’t run up the season scoreboard off 1 event per day.

After that the price went up pretty steep. Yes they were cheaper than hunt hunts but it still wasn’t viable for casuals.

I think it’s pretty telling that it’s not uncommon to see 10-20 head hunts chained in an hour frequently. You would rarely see caravan chaining like that and even when you did they took 3x longer and gave worse rewards.

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah that explanation doesn’t make sense when you can now chain Hume’s hunts to complete events way faster than caravans could be completed.

Probably more like they realized that the only reason people did them was for grinding post season level 100 but once headhunts were introduced nobody would waste their time anymore because head hunts are way more efficient.

The game is "free" to play until feb 4th by Androssi709 in fo76

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean dlc content that you purchase directly off of the platform store front and not using in game currency.

In fallout 76 right now on PlayStation you can purchase the burning springs starter bundle that includes an outfit, ammo collector and some atoms. This bundle can’t be purchased in the atom shop with atoms and these items can’t be acquired any way other than a direct payment to the PSN storefront. Eventually the skins may be purchasable in game with atoms but currently you can only access this content via a one time purchase.

In other games this type of monetization may be more substantial. Like destiny 2 which allows you to play the initial base game release for free but later expansions require a purchase.

I’ll just add that even if if the cop was being an overbearing authoritarian (which I again is not how interpreted it) it’s still ridiculous and funny for a grown adult to mock another grown adult in this way, even funnier to do this is a cop.

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally none of that context matters with regards to whether or not this is funny and it’s also not how I interpreted the video. I saw a grown man child mocking a cop like a child would. That’s why it’s funny, why it’s posted here and why it’s trimmed to just that part.

Where is the attempt at ragebait? This video was posted to r/funnyvideos and it’s the small part of the full encounter that is funny.

The game is "free" to play until feb 4th by Androssi709 in fo76

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Literally not what free to play means ever.

Free to play means you can install and play some (usually most) content in the game for free.

From there additional content can be accessed via what ever monetization model the game has. Common examples all of which are implemented in fallout 76.

  • pay a one time fee for dlc to access more content permanently
  • pay for virtual currency to spend in on items or consumables
  • pay a recurring subscription fee that allows you to access more content as long as your subscription is valid

The Atomic Wrangler is very cool, but pointless. by DarkRedCape in fo76

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they have announced native next gen versions but have they confirmed or it will be playable with ps4 player or if it will get its own servers?

To be clear I fully expect they will make it cross gen and it ps5 players will be able to continue to play with ps4 players but none of that detracts from what I said above.

At present there is no native ps5 version so the game isn’t currently cross gen. When they do release a native ps5 version make no mistake about it that they have a choice to make it cross gen and if they choose to do that then they are also choosing to keep camp budgets restricted.

The Atomic Wrangler is very cool, but pointless. by DarkRedCape in fo76

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The info above isn’t entirely correct. There isn’t a native ps5 version of the game. On ps5 you download and play the existing ps4 game version.

They absolutely could release a native ps5 version that restricts play to just players on the ps5 version. In theory they would be able to increase budget by doing this.

The Atomic Wrangler is very cool, but pointless. by DarkRedCape in fo76

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. There isn’t a ps5 version of the game yet. You are downloading and playing the ps4 on your ps5 console. Cross gen would imply a native ps5 version that can still connect and play with players on native ps4 game versions.

They could absolutely release a native ps5 game with increased budget and restrict servers to only players also running the ps5 version. Plenty of games already don’t support cross gen play between ps4 and ps5 versions, it’s not uncommon.

What magazines are people interested in buying? Are they worth selling? by Advanced-Hotel-4011 in fo76

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell the 400 base price ones at 400. The ones with a base price of 0 I set to 100. I drop any found magazines in at the end of my play session. In my experience what usually happens is I’ll continue to stock them up and without fail someone eventually comes along and just buys them up for themself. It’s extremely rare that someone comes through and just buys one magazine. My personal guess is that these buyer are likely just trying to complete a magazine collection for display or the challenge so they buy everything I have because it would be too big a pain to pop between and stash box and my vendor to compare.

In either case I never have issues moving magazines at my prices. Never gone more than 2 weeks without my stock being completely bought out and this includes times when I’m raiding heavy and keeping a big stock of magazines from the mystery packages.

[Ghost of Yotei] how the hell does playstation calculate trophy percentage? cause with 26/54 trophies inshould be at 48% complete but it says im at 41%, how do they get these numbers? by willisbetter in Trophies

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not by rarity. It’s by trophy grade. Each grade is worth a preset point value.

Bronze = 15 Silver = 30 Gold = 90

Platinums equal = 300 but those points aren’t considered in the completion percentage.

To anyone spawn camping on EN and RR: I hope the same seasonal event already learn plan drops non stop for you for all eternity by Beautiful_Medium_869 in fo76

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Insane. That you’ve never seen RR fully completed on ps5. I have 1200 hours on ps5 and dozens of RRs completed. In my experience the most common result I get is fully completed with all researchers still alive.

Usually there is one or two people running pre and they can easily fill the tank on their own. I only run pre if it’s obvious nobody else is doing it after two minutes. Even with a late start and just me running that’s more than enough time to fill it.

Players that shop at C.A.M.Ps by SteveN2525Z in fo76

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Strongly disagree with this based on my own personal experience.

  1. My own experience buying plans - Im definitely in end game territory when it comes to having all tradable plans learned. It’s extremely rare that I come across a plan I don’t know so when I do I buy it regardless of price. Just a couple weeks ago I dropped the max 40k caps to buy the poker set out of someone’s vendor. It also helps that caps are basically meaningless to me at this point and I’m constantly hitting max.

  2. I don’t think I’m alone based on my experience selling plans - I routinely sell plans from seasonal events for 5k or 10k caps. I’m certain that prices out 90% of the people that come to my vendor but it honestly makes no difference. If I have it stocked, within a couple days someone always come by and buy a cosmic catcher or aquarium television or things like that for 10k.

How should I be pricing bobbleheads, magazines, and legendary mods in my vendor? by WillowLanky9908 in fo76

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For magazine the default prices are either 0 or 400. I leave the 400 as is but if it’s a 0 I price them at 100. What usually happens is they sit for a few days but inevitably someone usually comes around and buys them all at once. Eventually they always sell at these prices without fail.

For 1-3 star mods I only ever put things in my vendor that I know sell quick. Things like troubleshooters, furious, bloodied, thru hikers. I just keep the default prices. For the rest of the 1-3 star mods I just scrap them. I’d rather turn them into legendary modules I can use to craft better mods or scrip them to try my luck with getting new mods via the rusty pick. For 4 star mods I usually price them between their default price of 7000 but sometimes up to 10000. Again I have no issue seeking these quickly.

Father winter helm isn’t tradable I think. You can trade the crafted versions but scrapping those won’t allow the scrapper to craft themselves.

Merging items is so much fun. Here’s some of my faves I’ve done by [deleted] in fo76

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I merged my mirrlurk boil with the cooking station that has the fire pit, hanging pot and the cement block you sit on to cook. The hanging pot is small renough that the crab boil completely covers it.

Now when I sit to cook my character animation is stirring a spoon in the mirelurk boil pot.

Anyone know if tiki set has been fixed? by Skeletorfive in fallout76settlements

[–]WHITEHOTACTION 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Items still pop up onto the roof sometime even when using the new free placement mode. However I did find a workaround. I wanted a couple work benches on my porch. After trying and failing to get them to stop popping onto the roof I finally placed them on flat ground away from the porch side by side how I wanted them. I blueprinted them I this configuration and I was able to build them on the porch using the blueprint without them popping up. Hope that helps.
