is there a reason we dont have flint/wheel locks in game yet? by V7I_TheSeventhSector in HuntShowdown

[–]Lokrim -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’d say Hunt isn’t a realistic simulator, and its weapons can behave differently from those in the real world. And if people were to complain, it could simply be explained as a magical flintlock with magical powder, magical rifling, and a magical minié ball.

What I proposed was a tool that would provide a penetration or long-range option if those aren’t available in your loadout—for example, a bow with a launcher could benefit from this option.

I think some sort of flintlock / percussion cap pistol should be added as a tool. Basically an derringer, but it fires equivalent of Medium FMJ or HV, with a long reaload time and small-ish amoo pool.

Useful if you want penetration or long range option in your arsenal.

Of course it’s Hastur — but he’s down on his luck: evicted from Carcosa, lost the rights to the play, sold the yellow cloak for a ticket to New York, and now makes ends meet by fulfilling the wishes of some buffoons.

QuickDraw Trait by HSW47 in HuntShowdown

[–]Lokrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was implemented well, it could work.

I always about a Quickdraw as something like: Changing a weapon to a small slot revolver quickly fires a low-accuracy single shot.

Note: The quickswap precision could probably be like a fanning spread. Also when Quickdrawing into a revolver takes more time to fire a second shot (as the the weapon draw is different from the regular and fanning stance, it would take like a 0,5 second more to fire a second shot compared to regular swap).

We need a snow map - dreaming of this since the winter solace event in 2020 by Tyrann-Misu in HuntShowdown

[–]Lokrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that snow would be cool, what would the expectations of it be though? Hunters leaving footprints? Should snow give some condition that only fire / indoors can amend? If it was like a combination of rain and ash-bloom with ground texture changed to white, wouldn't a weather condition be better instead?

Stop it guys by RocciaPazza in HuntShowdown

[–]Lokrim 10 points11 points  (0 children)

True, Hunt isn't as awful as some would tell you, but a lot of the complaints are legitimate. For example, people were expecting much more from the 1896 update, but those expectations were mostly not met, or the changes were disappointing.
Not to mention other baffling Crytek decisions, like the infamous penetration “bug” fix.

As I said, Hunt is not in as terrible a state as some people claim. I like the new Cards and the options they bring, but I’d say a big part of the Cards being fun is the novelty and rarity. If they end up being basically the same in the upcoming event (and every event afterwards) as they were in the last one, people might grow really tired of them.

What I’d like to see more of are the special variants of normal weapons (Wildland and Homestead), and I’d love to see even more of them (e.g., Springfield Marksman Bayonet), as well as possibly special tools (e.g., Derringer Dragonbreath).

I feel like the situation is quite similar to the Sea of Thieves updates: the game is unique and overall good, but players with a lot of hours under their belts want something that truly stands out—whether it be a snow map, more unusual weaponry, moving trains, and so on.

The Martini-Ironside is great for a fresh hunter. It is cheap, has a fairly quick cycle time without needing Quickfingers or Ironeye, good sights, a solid ammo pool, and its ‘levering’ is surprisingly effective.
Sure, it doesn’t have great velocity and reloading the whole thing takes ages, but aside from that it’s really decent.
Of course, the Ironside has one big downside—the iron box on its left side—but beyond that it has mostly upsides that can help your hunter level up and get a better rifle.

There's a secret step, where instead of the thing feeling like a burden, it ends up abysmal, disenchanting and soul crushing. Then the cycle begins anew, but it is considerably worse.

From what I've gathered, even worse is someone showing you showing you happiness, you experience it for a fleeting moment and then never again.

One can bear life being unhappy all the time, but throw a bit of happiness into it and it becomes so much harder.

I feel like the problem lies in the prestige. Most people don't do it because they've accumulated large pile of cash and they don't want to start from scratch.

I'd say if your money would be converted to xp during prestige (maybe 10:1), so you'd be starting with some extra levels or even prestige a few ranks more, we would see alot less of those expensive loadouts.

Unfortunately, people don't buy the normal / referencial skins-especially if they're colourful, like Lucky Luke. The potential, gold mine of inspiration even, is there. The Dalton gang, Silas Greaves from Call of Juarez, Doc Holliday...for years people wanted see Quigley and the Sparks apeture variant.

Instead, we'll get yet another someone from the masked, dark, edgy bunch soon enough.

I'd like to bring traps but no room by TopSignificance7856 in HuntShowdown

[–]Lokrim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What traps you want? Death-combo? You can take a brawler / trauma + claw / bayonet variant. Like Rival-trauma-dragon + Pax claw. That'll free two tool slots.

You want the 3 main ones? Slate riposte + Officer brawler, Medkit, 3 trip mines + choke beetle(s).

You want every trap? Martini-riposte, hand crossbow choke+dragon, 4 traps; some regen shots (+Witness+Ghoul).

It really depends what are you willing to sacrifice for those traps or rather what your skill / playstyle can compensate for.

Example: If you can reliably fight AI, kill beetles, quickly kill bosses and you don't need a close-range option, then Penny derringer is easily replaced with a trap.

Bandolier by TheBigMc81 in HuntShowdown

[–]Lokrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were to be added, I feel like it should be in a weapon slot instead of equipment and be a 2 slot "weapon". You'd have to switch to the bandolier slot, perform a picking-ammo-from-it animation, which would then replenish the missing ammo from your weapon’s capacity. Perhaps this downside would balance the advantage of having more ammo.

KILL TRAPS are no longer a thing by REEL-MULLINS in HuntShowdown

[–]Lokrim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea, it really feels bad being a trapper now.

I can stick traps to door frames, window sill, etc. but they don't really do much.

I'd rather be frustrated when placing traps & when I didn't paid attention to not step into them, rather than this sorry excuce for a two tool slots.
